[Observation Lounge]

Tiyeri offered a soft shrug to Bianca's words "I suppose it could be seen as something disconcerting yes, I find it fairly calming though, something about staring of into the emptyness of space often calms me a fair bit." Tiyeri closed her eyes a moment as she took a deep breath. When she opened her eyes she pushed herself up to her feet and stretched a little. She walked over to the sofa and kept standing behind it.

For a moment Tiyeri kept silent again as she just looked out into the warped view of the galaxy "So what got you to sign up for this possible one way trip then M'am?"

Re: Day One: Location Unknown
Bianca shrugged. "I could offer several reasons. For one thing, I no longer have a homeworld, so a one-way trip is not as daunting to me as it would be to others. It's impossible to become lost when one place is as good as another.

"Additionally, this is the sort of journey that only happens once in a lifetime, and I wanted to be a part of it 'lifetime' being a subjective term, of course. To a Human, I might cite Christopher Columbus, or Lewis and Clark. To an Andorian, the ice-cutter Kumari comes to mind. But I'm afraid I'm not sufficiently familiar with Caitian history and culture to offer a suitable analogy. Who were your most celebrated explorers?"

Re: Day One: Location Unknown
Tiyeri nodded a little "That would make things easier I suppose." She shrugged a little, her tail kept fairly still with the exception of the tip which was flicking about quite constantly, pausing occasionally as Tiyeri her ears perked up a little.

For a moment Tiyeri was silent as she sank into thought "I don't know about any famous explorers as history was never my strongest point at the Academy, though the best one I can think of that could be used as an example in this situation would be S'rrel, the first of my species to join Starfleet, before we as a whole joined the Federation proper. And in part to him our species joined the Federation."

Tiyeri fell silent again as she thought for a moment "As for me being here, for the same reason I joined Starfleet, to see the amazing wonders of the galaxy and like you said, this is a once in a life time oppertunity.... Though I wasn't really planning on going when I first heard about it though. And then it turned out they needed officers for the marine detachment, so I eventually decided to go."

"Well, so far as I'm aware, I am the only Federation Ambassador who volunteered to go on this mission," Bianca remarked. "Most of my colleagues, I'm sorry to say, are rather too attached to their entourages, their well-appointed suites, and all the various other trappings of luxury. They seem to forget that diplomacy also happens out in the wilderness, as well as in the cradle of civilization."

Re: Day One: Location Unknown
The Hyperion shook violently.  Anyone not sitting or strapped in place lost their footing and unsecured items slid or flew off their previous locations.  Warning alarms started blaring about an "incoming collision" and all sensors were flooded with too much data to handle.  The whole ship seemed unresponsive and a large object suddenly appeared on the main view-screen. The ship raced towards the object, its momentum unstoppable.   The view-screen registered the object colliding with the ship....

And then there was nothing.  The ship was back in normal space.  The strange colors and patterns of the gateway were gone.  Distant stars surrounded the ship in all directions, save behind them.  There was another structure similar to the one that brought them here.  But it seemed deactivated.  There were no energy or other readings from the device.

Damage reports showed only minor damage to the ship.  All sensors and controls were operating normally.

The ship was stationary in space, no longer under the control of whatever device brought them here.

Taeko picks him self up from the deck where he had ended up and dusts him self down. Looking at his station.
He activates the internal security section.
Security and marine teams sound in, report status.
he then sets the  Combat scanners on sweep and report and goes to check on the Captain

Bianca was still seated on the couch, so she did not loose her footing or suffer injury as she ship made the rather precipitous transition back into normal space. She got tossed around a bit, but had the good fortune to land on something soft. However, her half-full tea cup went flying from the end table. Fortunately, the carpet padded its fall, but the tea splashed onto the rug and seeped in, leaving a darkened stain.

Mark lost his footing as the deck heaved, it was a good job he had slowed as he was catapulted off the back of the machine "You ok Sir?" he said getting up and looking for the Orion who had been there with him. Wincing as he put weight on his right leg he would be fine for now.

Tiyeri fell silent for a moment as she mulled over the words of Bianca and her own thoughts. Just as she wanted to speak up the ship starting to shake violently and as Tiyeri was standing she was thrown of her feet.

When Tiyeri regained her senses again she groaned as she realised she wasn't standing anymore but was laying upside down against the wall she was sitting against earlier. Tiyeri rolled onto her side and clambered up to her feet as she placed a hand on the wall to steady herself as she waited to get a sense of balance again.

Once the initial dizziness had faded she walked over to the Ensign who had come in with Bianca and helped him up to his feet. After that she turned to Bianca "You ok Ma'am?"

Re: Day One: Location Unknown
"I'm fine," Bianca reassured both Tiyeri and the Ensign assigned as her escort. "Are you all right?" A thought crossed her mind about cats supposedly always landing on their feet, but she deemed it prudent not to make such a flippant remark.

"If you need medical attention, I happen to be a physician, although I don't practice medicine much these days. When you're as old as I am, you become a lot of things." Bianca had been a general practitioner, and while she might not be up on the latest techniques (and wasn't fully versed in Caitian physiology), she was quite capable of treating fractures, contusions, and lacerations.

She sighed. "It's tiresome, the way this keeps happening. Someone really must speak to the engineering staff about the inertial damping system." Rising from the couch, she walked over toward the forward viewports and gazed out at the unfamiliar stars arrayed before them. "The pertinent question would be: Where are we now?"

[Gym]

Mavrik had been doing long-stance leg stretches, so he didn't have a hope of staying balanced and upright when the ship rocked suddenly. He toppled heavily onto the floor, surprised but unharmed. At least he didn't have far to fall. 'Yeah, I'm fine.' he answered Fontaine, climbing to his feet. 'Do you want me to look at that?' he asked, realising the other man had been thrown off the running machine, and seemed to have hurt his leg.

'I guess this means we've arrived. Or hit something.' he sighed.

Re: Day One: Location Unknown
Walter was stunned for a second or two as the sudden jolt caught him unaware.  He'd cracked his jaw on the console, and opened his eyes just as the whole thing went to black, a shower of unfamiliar stars on the viewscreen.  They'd finally made it... Or they were dead and heaven consisted of doing the same thing he'd been piss poor at for the last few years.

Taking a hand to readjust his jaw and make sure it was still in one piece, the navigator took his other to tap into the astrometrics, checking for any sort of field they'd had.  They had the Voyager's logs of the Delta as a reference so he pulled them up to corroborate any stellar positions that would be guideposts.

In sickbay Sialk was getting a bombardment of scans. Captain Jericho could be heard through the comm. "There is damage in almost every major system on this ship. Surprisingly there is nothing more severe then small fracturing".

Meg turned toward the captain at his request. "Captain, damage reports remain minor. Stress on the ship has caused some general structural damage that should be repaired. But she will hold together for now. No systems are outside operational parameters. Full power and warp engines are at your command, captain."

[Gym]

Mavrik left Fontaine to his leg, suggesting 'More portal turbulence, I suppose. It feels like we've stopped.' That was it they'd arrived in the Delta Quadrant, in the far Outer Dark. And he'd been in the gym. He wished he'd been somewhere more comfortable, or with friends. He took a moment to compose and centre himself, trying to let go his tension. He'd come to the gym to expend it in the first place, but there seemed little need now.

'I guess we'd better go see what's going on.' The counsellor headed for the door.

Re: Day One: Location Unknown
Admiral Zenerin made his way out of the bridge turbolift and entered the bridge.  He looked a little disheveled and his uniform was not exactly in proper condition.

"I apologize for my appearance. I was trying to take a nap when we exited the gateway. I was thrown out of bed and had to race up here.  I have the coordinates where the station should be programmed into the ship's computer. Mr Peterson, if you bring up file 'Zenerin 2-2-Alpha' and bring up those coordinates we can find our new home."

Walter nodded and changed course from his own attempts, opening the file requested.  It took a little to find but soon he had it, tossing the starmap up to the screen.  Taking a few educated guesses based on the stars they could see, Walter was able to place the shop within a few light years of theirbdestination.  "Right... Here.

Meg looked over toward the door as it opened. When she saw it was the Admiral, she announced his presence. "Admiral on the bridge."

She listened to the instructions from the admiral and waited for Walter to load the co-ordinates from the ship's computer. "Initiating long range sensor scan."

Tiyeri nodded a little as she looked at Bianca "Well given that this is not the first time I decided to take a closer look at the deck plating.. I think having someone with medical knowledge check that I don't have any really serious injuries."

Tiyeri looked at a wall as she spoke into her comms First platoon call in, everyone alright? She waited for a moment as her squad members checked in and relayed that through to her superior, after which she sat down on the sofa and let out a soft sigh.

Re: Day One: Location Unknown
Bianca went over to a wall panel marked with a caduceus symbol and opened it. Behind it was an emergency medkit, which she brought over to the sofa where Tiyeri was seated. Opening the kit, she took out a medical tricorder and began scanning the Caitian for injuries.

"You have a few bumps and bruises, but nothing serious," came her assessment. "A little work with a dermal regenerator should take care of it. Do you need a painkiller?" she inquired, as she began treating the injuries. A dermal regenerator was so easy to operate that anyone could use one with minimal instruction. Just switch it on and shine the light over the affected area. The light itself was just for aiming it, but it could heal minor cuts, burns, and abrasions, clear up bruises, eradicate infection, and erase scars.

[Observation Lounge]

Perhaps predictably at this point, Mavrik showed up. This time, he was out of uniform, wearing Starfleet training shorts and tank top, showing muscular green arms and legs bearing traditional clan tattoos and slave-marks. 'Can I help anyone?' he called into the room, finding that, perhaps predictably, he was a little too late.
