I'm not sure that the authorities would appreciate us walking around with an arsenal. Not to mention trying to get off world with all this.

Just a thought.  Long arms are what's illegal to have on Kratarr right now.

Remember that blowing up the sanitorium will kill the innocent patients.  As for Artemis Base, you don't have sufficient info on that yet.

Sorry for the long absence. I was writing an academic paper I plan to submit for publication next month (maybe next week, if my adviser says it's ready). Kept me busy and mentally occupied for the past two months, really!

Sorry, everyone.  The last year has been really hard on me. I changed jobs and it was demanding of my time and attention.

I just left and went back to my old firm.  That means that things should get back to how they were a year ago.

I hope you are all still with me and thanks so much for your patience.

Too bad that the new job didn't work out, but it's good to hear that you could get your old job back!

I've been busy with academics the past several months, and will continue to be through the fall, so having this game on hold wasn't a big deal for me.

My posting may still be a bit slow the next few months. Fingers crossed, I'll finish up my doctoral dissertation and have my defense in November. If things don't go so well, then I'll push back the defense until next spring.

Understood and no hard feelings on this end.  I understand what it's like to struggle with life and careers.  I have like three different jobs and I just signed up to be an Uber Driver to make ends meet myself.

This game has been a welcome distraction for me, regardless of our posting speed.  If we can only get by with a turn or two a week, then so be it until we can do more.

Best of luck to all of us and let's enjoy gaming as an escape from reality!

Yeah, I'm wondering if I forgot to update my character sheet. We found all those grenades and stuff back in the armory. Strange I only have one of each type.

GM Heath:
You begin searching the bodies and the explorer.

The explorer is carrying a case of grenades (3 tangler, 6 fragmentation, 3 doze and 4 smoke); a box containing 5 rockets for the rocket launcher, 30 power-clips, 20 automatic pistol bulletclips and 9 automatic rifle clips; and two backpacks with climbing gear (pitons, crampons, 200m of rope, and so on).

Also, the modified explorer has been slightly retrofitted.  Heavy weapons can be fitted to the roof hatch of an explorer by means of a swivel mount. The swivel mount fits around the roof hatch and takes one technician an hour to install both it and a heavy weapon. No more than one heavy weapon can be mounted on an explorer at a time.

Further, the KLC explorer has air-tight hatches that can be pressurized to allow the occupants to breathe normally when travelling at high altitudes. They also carry breathing apparatus for use outside the vehicle, or when one or more of the hatches are open. Additional oxygen tanks are carried, as well as a portable compressor with which to refill them.

For weapons on the bodies, you find:

1) Commander: Laser rifle, Heavy autopistol (3 20 round clips), Vibroknife (Beltpack 30 SEU and 4 Powerclips), Albedo suit (40 points), Inertia screen(F), Magnigoggles, Military skeinsuit (35 points)

2) KLC 1: 1 Gauss rifle (see below), with 2 40 round clips; Gyrojet pistol (3 Jetclips), Military skeinsuit (35 points)

3) 1 Rocket Launcher; Automatic rifle (5 Bulletclips), Albedo suit (20 points)

4-6) Laser pistol (5 Powerclips each), Military skeinsuit (40 points each)

In inspecting the weapons, you find that all of the weapons are manufactured by Stysor Arms of Madderly's Star.

There is also enough food and water in the explorer to feed 6 people for 5 days, and there are radios, but a code must be input into them for operation, including listening, which you don't have.

Gauss rifles fire needle-like projectiles using an electromagnetic field generated along the barrel. The projectiles themselves are long, thin slivers of of dense, armor-piercing allow surrounded by a jacket of softer metal gving the round both good stopping power and armor-piercing capability. The rifles are easily recognized by their long barrels (up to 2m in some models) and are easily located by magnetic scanners. This ease of detection has limited their battlefield use, though they remain in service with several UPF units. They are strictly military weapons, and their possession is a felony offense on all UPF member worlds.

I know that Desi took the Gauss rifle and there is limited ammo for it left.

You begin collecting information and documents, and copying files.  It is while you are doing this that Dever's radio goes off.  "We found something, boss.  There's been an explosion at the entryway, and Beedo is dead.  Boss?  You there?  We're coming up."

You gather the last of your things and leave before more of the mercenaries arrive.  Rezz takes you where she thinks the armory is, which is on the same floor (floor 1) and down the hall.  You hit the jackpot!

You are in a room full of weapons and items of war, almost as if stashed here for a military operation.  You have your pick from the following:

51 power beltpacks
22 laser rifles
37 power backpacks
37 laser pistols
17 gyrojet rifles
28 automatic rifles
46 automatic pistols

1 recoilless rifle

There are also 10 military sized backpacks and "kits" for storing weapons and ammo.

As you peruse and drool over the weaponry, you hear boots as a number of soldiers exit the elevator and run to Dever's office.  But you are around the corner, so they don't see you.

However, if they need weapons, you are pretty sure you know where they will come to get them.

You then found a secret tunnel under the Sanitarium which led to a crater landing pad with a shuttle.  You fought off a robot but the mechanic woman you were chasing disappeared somewhere.

You all enter the ship and start some stimpaks and healing...

(At this point, please assume you found stimpaks and a healing center on the shuttle so that you are all back to normal stamina levels.)
