The first RIK guard is dead.  The other RIK guards stationed on the train are nowhere in site.

The first commando is also dead and laying at the bottom of the ladder. Another commando was killed and fell off the fast-moving train.

Three commandos remain, two of which are shooting at you and one of which is doing something to the pylon, almost totally concealed.  They all have glijets.

"Desi only has her lower body exposed to the RIK guards.  The upper part was over the train room to fire at the commandos.  She can easily climb up out of the way of the RIK guards, or deal with them from where she's at with soft cover."
Where can she climb out of the way too?  I'm thinking that if she goes up on top of the train she might get whisked off???

She can climb on top of the train if she keeps her body low.  That's what Orvo did.  She just needs to walk or crawl carefully.  This is our version of the cowboy fights on top of a train in a train robbery. :)

I understand the version you're speaking of, just wanted to be clear that she isn't going to blow right off the top of the train when she gets up there.

Does Orvo have the proper skill(s) to to the Technician work?

Will this be any help to Desiraye if she decides to move forward on top of the cars?
Advanced Anti-Shock Implant. Desiraye is immune to stun attacks, including
stuns from electrostunner, sonic stuns, electric swords, etc.  Desi is immune
to small levels of electricity and takes half damage from large doses (causing
over 1d10 damage).

The implant has tendrils running down Desiraye's legs and arms, causing her to
take only half damage from falls where she lands on her feet and adding 1/2
distance to jumps (rounded down) and to lifting capacity (not to encumbrance).
Any skill checks requiring the use of strength are performed as though she
had +20 added to her strength.


Any thoughts without meta gaming too much over this since time is an issue?

If the RS check is failed, a secondary roll is made to see if the character catches himself/herself.  These will help her with the second roll, if needed, which is based on either strength or RS, whichever is higher.  She will get a +20 to the strength check.

On second thought, I think she should also get a +20 added to her RS for the initial roll as well, as to the implants.  So this likely increases her speed getting across the cars.

Also, Orvo has martial arts and biosocial skills.  He has no technician skills.

S'krllk is the technician in the group.

S'krllk is the technician in the group.

Desi only has a Technician skill of 1 so, we need to either get S'Krllk or Desiraye there quickly.  Desi might be a little quicker going top side where she already is and meeting S'Krllk there or how do you want to proceed?  I think Desi is going to make a move for the pylons but she is going to need help getting this security guy off her ass.

If I understand correctly, S'Krllk is already at the hole in the roof. He can cross one car per round so it will take him three rounds to get to the pylon. It will take another round to attach the tether (he doesn't have an actual death wish, he just truly thinks the universe is trying to kill him). After that he can work on the brakes until they are fixed, but at increasing minuses.
That is my understanding of the situation, and the plan that S'Krllk is putting into effect.

My calculations (see message #48) is that S'krllk is one car ahead of Desi and Orvo, and therefore it should only take him 2 rounds to reach the pylon.

Sorry to be late.  Had a sick baby this week, so I've had little time to post after work, and this site is blocked at work (I'm a teacher, "game" sites of many types are blocked).

Anyway, here's Porter's shopping list:
Military Skeinsuit (300 credits) if available
Magnigoggles (200 credits)

Also, can I check on how many SEU are left in the power beltpack I picked up on the train?  I may want to get it recharged.

This leaves him with around 200 credits for vehicle rentals.

Yes, the laser rifles were confiscated again.  We can say your SEUs were all recharged without cost--part of the UPF benefit they granted you here.

We can also switch out riders on the cycle if needed since there should be enough room in the explorer to rest and the like.

It's probably a good idea to take shifts driving the explorer as well as the bike.  Then we could drive through the night.
