Hey there! No worries! Was just throwing the Watch out there and the old Sgt-at-Arms is just trying to repay a favor by giving Deverick a pass that allows him free passage throughout the city. The High Quarter was mentioned mainly to throw off the other Watchmen. I see Deverick gravitating toward the River Quarter or Foreign Quarter because that's where the adventurers would be and his Rhennee heritage would do him some good. I will be throwing out many little bites like the Watch angle but ultimately it will be you or Deverick that will decide what you want to do. Oh! Greyhawk does have a Mercenary Guild. I think it is in the River Quarter or Foreign Quarter but I'll find out.

BTW I was thinking of Deverick's Mom having a sister which runs/ owns a small tavern just off the Strip and not far from the Cargo Gate. Mostly caters to Rhennee Barge Folk but a few nobles slumming from the High Quarter come in on occasion and adventurers coming in seeking word of the Nyr Dyv. Deverick would know of her for sure. Might be a place for him to bed down. Also she is a Vetha, a Rhennee fortune teller type. Cheers

The Mercenary Guild is indeed in the Foreign Quarter but where exactly he is unsure. He hears that the street urchins and even the beggars are good sources of info! Cheers

 I suppose you might be wondering, why Dev speaks Dwarvish. There was a Dwarf that worked for his father as an assistant Blacksmith.He took a liking to young Dev and taught his language to the lad over the years. Now as far as speaking Dwarf, Dev has a decent command of the language, for a Human, but has no idea of its written form.

Also, I will be posting a few house rules, one of which can be found in Dragon Magazine # 83 for unarmed combat. It's by Roger Moore and very well done. Do you have a copy? Also, I usually give just double damage when a player rolls a natural 20 and a chance of dropping and/or chipping a weapon on a natural 1.

Glad those rules are okay. I added some stuff this morning for you to look over and get back to me. One was rules for arm wrestling. Just let me know which method you like better or if you use another that you like more than those. Also put up info on Ren o' The Star and the Merchant And Traders Union for you to look over.  I am having a blast! I just need to keep my mega posting impulses at bay. If I really enjoy a game, I tend to post a lot,and then expect the poor beleaguered GM to respond in kind. I am much better now,a proud member of the Mega Posters anoynomus. :)
