at 01:17 | [Side] Shooting Stars (Sunday 9-6-15 Early Morning)The girl laughs and shakes her head, "That would be cooler, but no. My name is Luísa, let me show you what my power is."
She turns and takes several steps before turning on her heel again and facing Andre, and then holds out her hands palm down. Without warning, thin blue jets of flame spring into being from her palms, and she slowly lifts into the air. This is the source of the noise Andre heard earlier.
I do believe I said he would be flying with a hot girl... ~.^

He exclaims, a big smile widening across his face. "They trust me to fly there? I mean, I've only done it a few times - it's hard to control." He looks chagrined, rubbing one hand over his shaved scalp.

Jets of blue flame appear beneath her feet before she can fall, and she doesn't even bob in the air in the process, while she says, "I will take the lighter bag, but you will have to carry the other. You want to say goodbye to your family? Sooner we go, sooner we get there."

Mum doesn't want me to see her cry or something, so she's hiding in the bedroom." He looks a little sad at that prospect, but he shoulders it with resignation.
Andre carries his bags outside, dropping the duffel on the path. "I'll carry the trunk I guess." He says, making ready to leave. "So um. I can't hover or nothing. I can slow down, but not much. I'll fall if I do." He explains the shortcomings of his ability.
"So, point me in the right direction? Takeoff is a bit... violent."

While he answers, she takes up the duffle bag with some difficulty, and slings it over her shoulder. The added weight causes her to bob slightly, but the thrust from under feet soon compensates for the added weight.

True to his word, the sudden heat that radiates from him is sweltering, his powers carrying him aloft at speed. Ascending several hundred feet into the air, his solar-assisted flight is accompanied by the roar of energies propelling him into the air. "Catch me!" He yells over the sound of his own flight, taking off in the direction she'd pointed only moments before.
OOC: Andre will slowly increase his speed until he starts beating her and then slow down to match her, or until he reaches his top speed - whichever comes first.

She glares at him for a few seconds, her right eye twitching in irritation, before she suddenly accelerates after him, blowing right by him and maintaining a decent lead for a short period.
But her speed begins to falter soon, the jets of flame sputtering slightly, and sweat drips down the sides of her face.

Every time he takes to the air, he gets more confident, and now he takes it one step further, turning over on his back to look back at his flying partner. His enjoyment is rapidly replaced by concern when he looks at her, and he slows so that she can catch him. "Are you alright?" He asks her at a yell over his roar of his propulsion.

She makes no move to slow down or take a break, though, setting a pace at more than one hundred miles per hour, as far as Andre can tell.

Here is a girl who can't keep pace with him through whatever quirk of her own powers. He matches her speed, in wonder of the feeling of flight. The incredible sense of freedom, the wind in his face, the land zooming by below, how could anyone not want this?
"Better?" He asks over the marginally quieter sound of flying at her pace. "This is the best, right?" He motions at the air around them in an encompassing fashion.

I've felt adrenaline before, but nothing like that, you know?" He corkscrews, messing around with his flight path out of the sheer joy of it. "Aside from freaking everyone out, this shit is the best."

I practiced a long time and learned to use it for many things, like flying, welding, and fighting, to protect or to harm... Well, and the shield will hurt you if you touch it," she says.
After a moment of thought she adds, "I do not know anything of the school you are going to, but I think there will be people who can help you. A boy from your school changed to my school, and he says one of the teachers is a very smart but very rude lady, who made all kinds of things to help mutants."
