It turns out that Jameson is behind the mansion, watering the small planters in the windows there.
He doesn't react to the duo's presence at first.

When they approach and enter the garage, Tony does his best to pay attention to how Jameson opens the garage, and looks for anything like air vents or crawl-ways for future reference. However, he tries his best not to look too nosy, which pretty much prevents him from getting a good look.

Jameson leads them to a door in the back of the garage, which opens to a stairwell. They go up the stairs, and back inside the building. This hallway has only three doors in it. Two have no signs, but one has a paper mandala or something much like it pinned above it. Jameson opens the one opposite to the marked door. Inside is a clean, spartan apartment.
"Hrm, might want some electromagnets in that case," he says as he starts digging into a large metal toolbox.

The first attempt at getting the device to work fails. The two take it completely apart and start over.

The second time, however, they manage to get the device to work! And it works pretty well, at that. For a brief moment, all electrical equipment on the same power grid as the socket their device is plugged into is mapped to a data graph, which is then easily mapped to the layout of the building over the next hour or so.
There are lots of little power lines that run to places with no obvious need for power, which could be hidden cameras or listening devices. The two conclude that Emily will be able to tell them which ones are cameras, and the rest must be microphones as a result.
They also discover something curious: The entire lab, once past the outer door, is on a completely separate power grid than the rest of the mansion.
