Shortly after breakfast, Johanna gets a knock at her door.

When she opens it, Dennis is standing there holding a familiar looking case, "Morning Johanna. Do you have some free time? I thought you'd like to do something familiar for a bit, and help me hunt down some critters that are moving in on the greenhouse."

Johanna was sitting on her bed and generally seemed to look like she was in a much better mood with her proper posture and she did not try to avoid Dennis's gaze. But the sight of the familiar case made her perk up and smile widely.

"Oh thank goodness it got here safely! I was bit worried." She sounded relieved, jumping up from the bed.

"Critters?" She asks, scratching her cheek while she keeps switching her gaze between the case and Dennis "You sure it's okay?"

Dennis nods, "It is. As long as I'm with you supervising, you can have this with you and even shoot it. But when I'm not with you, I'm supposed to take it and put it in a lockup. I have the bullets right here."

He hands her the case and then picks up a metal box he had previously sat on the floor, off to the side.

"I gotta say, that's a sweet rifle. How long have you had it?"

Johanna nods in understanding on the terms of having her gun and shooting it. She looks rather pleased with all of this. "I understand, Sounds good"

"Thanks! My father bought it for me a couple of years ago as a Birthday present. He said it congratulate me for how well I did in the shooting competition." She chuckles and shakes her head a little "I am sure he did it to mess with my mum."

Dennis snickers, "Men do that sort of thing. Come on down when you're ready. I think you'll get a kick out of my rifle when you see it."

He leaves the rifle and case with Johanna, but takes the ammo box with him as he starts down the hallway, heading out the front door of the mansion.

"Tell me about it..." Johanna sounds both well aware of it and amused by it the same time.

"I will be down in a moment, Sir." She waits for Dennis to leave and closes the door behind him, pondering what the man knew about guns, and what kind of gun he would have. To her, she didn't match the image of a Texan man with a cowboy hat and a high caliber handgun. She shrugs at her thoughts and looks down at her case and hastily grabs it and places it on top of her bed.

She sits down on top of her knees and she opens the case, taking out the hunting rifle. Johanna takes a good, careful and long look at her gun, inspecting it in detail for damage from transportation. She wipes the stock with her shirt's sleeve and stands up. She was about to open the door and run out after Dennis with the gun in her hand, but the realization of that what a student running around with the gun would look like came to her and made her flush with embarrassment.

She puts the gun back into its case, picks it up and runs downstairs.

Dennis is standing next to the car he drives students around in, which is parked in front of the school for a change, with the trunk open. He's pulled a rifle of his own out of said trunk and set it leaning against the car with the butt on the ground.

Johanna recognizes it as an original Ruger 10/22, manufactured in the late sixties or early seventies.

Dennis looks up and waves her over, "Come on over, I'm just loading a magazine for you to use. Feel free to pick her up if you want," he says, indicating the Ruger with a nod of his head.

Johanna's jaw drops a little when she sees the rifle, running next to it and placing her case on the ground next to her as she squats down to have a closer look at it. "Dude, I have never seen this thing in the wild before! Only pictures in the magazines by my dad's place."

She does not have to be told twice as she picks up the rifle when gaining the permission to do so. She handles the gun with care and respects like it was her own, looking at it from different angles before she lifts it up and looks down at the sight, aiming towards the car. "She is pretty" Johanna admits, sounding rather envious of Dennis, but it does not distract her from her childlike glee.

"Does she have a name?" She lowers the barrel and looks at Dennis.

Denis chuckles and jokes, "That's Lil Susy. She's my favourite, really, but don't tell her sisters that. Especially Georgiana, my shotgun."

He finishes putting bullets into the magazines and holds out two of the ones for Johanna's rifle, "This ought to be enough. We each have ten rounds, which ought to be about four times as many as we'll need but hey, better safe than sorry, right?"

"Nah, it's over on the other side of the mansion, that way," Dennis says as he points, "But see that big field of grass going all the way to the foot of the hill there? They're scattered all around in that field. I already ran them out of the greenhouse and plugged the hole they dug for the twelfth time, so now it's come to this. I told the Doctor this would happen if he didn't spring for a proper cement barrier under the ground, but he said he had to cut costs somewhere so he only got a foundation for the greenhouse itself."

Dennis takes up his rifle and loads it before gesturing in the direction of the greenhouse, "Ladies first."

Johanna pauses for a moment and sighs "S-sorry, I feel like I am walking on eggshells after being transferred here."

Johanna manages to stifle a laughter at Dennis's joke.

"I don't know... I just hate how things have not gone according to the plan with the military school. I'm just afraid I am going to mess up again and be flown off back to home with nothing to show for being here." She sighs heavily and shrugs "Everyone is nice here, yes, but... I'm not that good with new people, you know?" She admits.

"I understand that feeling. To be honest, when I was your age, I didn't know how to deal with people, either. But as time went on I figured it out, and I had a cousin who helped me a lot when I would stick my foot in my mouth. If you want to talk to someone, you can always talk to me, or you can call Calvin any time. The Doctor will make time for you as well, but might not get back to you as quickly."

Dennis stops and thinks for a long moment, "If you want to talk to one of your peers, though, Tamera has got to be the most approachable and forgiving person I've ever met. I suppose you'll hear this story eventually, so I might as well as give it to you now and make sure you get the right of it. Just the other day that girl got smashed into a wall so hard, she broke at least a dozen bones, and who knows what else. I saw the guy who did it try to apologize to her and she just up and hugged him and told him it was okay, like it was nothing. Well, with her power, it was sort of nothing, and she was up and walking around a minute later, but still, that wasn't nothing, you know?"

"Thanks, I appreciate that." Johanna smiles at Dennis, but the expression soon fades and turns into shock when she hears about Tamera and what happened to her. "Oh wow... That's crazy!" She swallows hard and turns to look forward away from Dennis as she seems to mull over the event in her mind and what this new information tells about the school and its students "I'm glad she is okay, but... Damn."

"And I thought me freezing few square kilometers of forest was bad."

"Eh, it was really my fault in the end. I'm the one who started up our self-defense training early. If I had kept to the schedule, the whole incident wouldn't have happened. But I think it worked out in the end, at least, because if it wasn't for that, we wouldn't have had an opening for you. The kid who hurt Tamera volunteered to go over to the military academy you were at before.," Dennis explains, "And you can see the greenhouse as we round this corner."

Johanna looks rather relieved when she fears the person who hurt Tamera is no longer in the school, but she does not voice any concerns related to it.

"Right. So, after we shoot them do we like... cook and eat them or something? Never shot or even seen a Prarie Dog before." She asks as they are closing in on their target location.

Dennis chuckles, "I don't know that they'd be good eating, and Miss Olensson would have a fit, especially with as much time as she spends in that kitchen."

An idea physically seizes Dennis, causing him to spin to face Johanna and talk a bit louder without realizing it, "Ah, I really am an idiot! I read in your file that you speak Swedish, well, Erika does too. That might help you feel more at home, having someone to chat with in your mother's language. Plus, she's a real sweetheart as well, and bakes the most amazing cookies I've ever had."

She steps to the side and next to Dennis and looks at the field. "So, this is the place? Uhmm, Is it okay if he sees us?"

Johanna smiles at Dennis and squats down with her case, putting it and the cartridges onto the ground and she opens the case and takes out her gun. She does the same kind of inspection as before but in less detail, this time, and flips the safety switch that locks the trigger and bolt handle in place back and forth, leaving it locked once more and she then starts to load the cartridge.

"I'd just like for him to know the circumstances, you know? I don't want people to think I'm a possible school shooter on top of being a... you know... weird?"

After a moment, Blake's head slowly peers out above the bench, then realizing what's up, his head tips down and to the side, a gesture of exasperation. Then get slowly gets up, dirt and shards of broken pots falling away, and heads to the door.

As head exits the greenhouse, he heads in the direction of the hunting pair. "What the hell? Are you two trying to give someone a heart attack?" He gestures emphatically as he speaks, tail lashing in irritation.

Johanna clicks the safety switch on and she lets out a relieved sigh now that she had gotten the apology out of her system. "Look, I am going to say what I told Tony yesterday: No matter how you look, To me, you're still a person" She runs her fingers through her hair and smiles at Blake "I mean, I don't really have the right to judge you based on your looks... B-but if I did, I'd think you look pretty cool!"

He rubs the back of his neck and glances at Dennis briefly  before speaking to Johanna. "Look; its wasn't you I was upset with. And I'm sorry I spooked you, but I assure you, I've got my own set of issues, don't put Tony's on me." He adds with a chuckle.

I don't know about the school, but in the actual military, the date Ángel and Tamera are going on today would be more like a make out session under the cover of darkness than the leisurely afternoon in the city they seem to have planned, and getting caught gets you put on extra duty," Dennis says with the kind of grin that only a man remembering the times he got this exact punishment would have.

Blake pauses, mouth partly open, then quickly glances towards the greenhouse and back. "Well.. shit." And starts to laugh himself, shaking his head. "It's not like that!"

His denial seems to only fuel their laughter, and he adds, "Ok, but not for the reason you think." The hands and tail have gotten involved in talking now. "I'm from LA, the temperature here isn't exactly comfortable for me, y'know?"

With a half-wave of farewell to Dennis, Blake heads off towards one of the other corners of the property, where the trees begin to overtake the area again. After a minute or so, however, he realizes that Johanna is practically running to keep up.  He slows considerably, "Oh, right, sorry. I keep forgetting to slow down, still some parts I haven't gotten used to yet." He says with a sheepish grin.

"So, how'd you wind up here anyway?" He pauses, realizing what he said, and amends, "In America, that is."

"Keep good care of her, Dennis!" Johanna waves to the man a farewell for now as she has trouble keeping up with the large strides the Lizard man is taking but does not complain about it. She looks at Blake with gratitude when he realizes this and smiles at him. "It's Ok."

Johanna shrugs when she is questioned about her story "I ruined few square kilometers of forest, that kinda gets you globally noticed. I had few options, but come on! Who doesn't dream of living in America at least for a while?!" She chuckles "Me and my parents looked at our options and decided that the Military school here was the best option... Sadly it didn't work out." Her mood noticeably sours, sighing heavily.

Johanna's cheeks flush a bit with Blake's admission, giving him a nod and a friendly smile. She looks at his arm and reaches her hand, slowly and steadily placing it on top of it and begins to brush her hand along the skin of the arm back and forth "So cool."

A brief moment later she is satisfied and she withdraws her hand, placing it on top of her lap once more. She turns her head towards the forest before she speaks "Always wanted a pet Lizard, you know? Heck, I once tried to bring home a... we call them Sisilisko back at home, I don't know what they are called in English. Small little things. Freaked the crap out of my mum." Johanna  demonstrates the size with extending her thumb and index finger and giggles at the memories of innocent childhood.

"There's been an assortment of other stuff, like how Dennis almost let Tammy get killed in our first PE class, that kinda, let's say, rubbed some of us the wrong way. So we're seeing what we can find out about the situation we now find ourselves in."

Again, Blakes starts with the hand talking, "Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that they aren't out to help us, it really does seem like they are. But there's some... concern, about what's really up here."
