Re: August, 2015:
Tony's eyes go wide when he sees the fork levitate.

"Whoa," he says, "that's pretty cool." He puts a claw on the spoon to test its resistance, impressed at how the spoon stays up even after he applies a little bit of pressure pushing down.

"My powers aren't all that flashy," he admits. "What you see is pretty much what you get." He gestures to his face and tail.

"My senses of hearing and smell have gotten a whole lot better. Like, I can pretty much guess how far off someone is just from hearing them talk or the sound of their footsteps, and I can eavesdrop on people pretty accurately about three hundred yards away. Great if you like the nasty things people say when people don't think they can be heard. Not so great when you're the subject of them.

"The sense of smell is less a blessing, more a curse. I can tell people apart and evaluate their personal hygiene thanks to it. You'd be surprised at how many people have bad breath and forget to use deodorant.

"The tail, well,"
he pauses, looking at it with a shrug, "helps with balance, I guess? It's also great for flicking on light switches.

"Oh,"
he exclaims, snapping his fingers, "I almost forgot the best part. These claws are good for climbing. Like, really good for climbing. I can run up walls, hang from ceilings, and catch myself from falling without fail. I'd show you, but I don't think our kind hosts want me ruining the wallpaper and paint..."

Re: August, 2015:
Emily shakes her head at Tony.  "I don't think I've got blood?  The few times my arm's been shattered it's all just like... solid on the inside.  Like I said.  No sense."

David's display doesn't seem too surprising to her and after Tony finishes his own run down of his abilities she shrugs. "I've got something similar to the TK but just with glass.  I haven't been able to find my upper limit yet but I've got pretty good control.  I can shatter at least a few hundred pounds of it and control the shards individually.  It's about as dangerous as it sounds.  Umm other than that...  My hands can turn razor sharp like Obsidian almost.  You already know I don't need to eat or breathe and I'm guessing that most other biological threat stuff doesn't mean much to me anymore.  I can kind of... hear glass hum when it's nearby even if it's hidden.  That comes in handy when the baseball bats come out.  As long as I've got a source I can...  absorb the stuff into my injuries pretty much and I'll be better in seconds.  I think that's pretty much it.  That I know about anyway."

At first 聲gel was staring at Tammy trying to parse what she said about his powers. But when Emily mentions her arm shattering she gets his full attention.

"Your arm's been shattered?" he asks. "Add to that your earlier comments about people wanting to see if you break like glass..." As he talks anger creeps into his voice and expression. "Who did it?"

Tamera ends up placing her hand down on the counter instead of 聲gel, quietly lowering her head and squeezing her eyes shut. A few moments later she sets down her tea and places her hand on her head.

Emily gives 聲gel a shrug and a self-deprecating smile.  "The usual.  Angry people doing God's work, people that want to screw with the tabloid freak, humanity for humans types stuff like that.  Even if you keep your head down after you spend a couple years on the streets eventually someone notices.  The other homeless don't usually care too much as long as you don't get too close but once someone from the wealthy white picket fence side gets wind of a gene freak underneath an overpass or something... You know."

"That's pretty cool! I mean, the no blood, razor blades, and using glass to heal yourself part. Not the baseball bat stuff."

Tony grimaces.

"Yikes," he says softly, "That sucks. I often complain about my lot in life, but my folks kept me safe and sound in our home. Aside from the occasional screams of horror from children, taunts from creeps and jackasses, and impromptu and insulting paint jobs on our house, I guess my folks saved me from the worst of it." When he finishes, Tony winces.

"Sorry, that came out weird. I usually use sarcasm and jokes to keep from grappling with the whole magnitude of what has happened. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it comes off snarky."

Blake stays quiet through this discussion, realizing maybe, that anything he said would detract from the discussion. So instead he listens attentively, thinking.

Emily gives a small shrug and glances at Tony.  "It is what it is.  I got better and the other guys have pretty much permanent scarring.  I'm going to go ahead and call that a win."

Shifting her gaze to David she stares for a brief second before nodding.  "Sure.  I'm guessing that's probably going to be an easy promise to keep."

Where to even begin? The beginning was probably as good a place as any.

Still holding her head, Tammy opens one eye slightly and slowly turns to look at David as she says, "Uhm... David? I know you were raised with this religion and stuff but like, that's not really how this all works. You have an active X-gene, just like Emily and Tony and the rest. Your quirk isn't the ability to use the force, either. The force was invented for a movie, based on real-life oriental myths about chi and prana. I'm pretty sure your quirk is actually something to do with manipulating spacetime. You're like, controlling gravity... Well, now that I'm thinking about it, that still does count as an invisible energy that binds the galaxy together."

聲gel grabs hold of his anger and locks it down again. While doing so he listens to the ongoing conversation with one ear. Finally he speaks up again.

"Tammy, I think we know what your power is now. Somehow you're able to identify and analyse mutant powers. I wonder if you can detect mutants without line of sight."

"I realize I'm not using the Force. However, the yellow-eyed demonic user of gravity is a real risk. I'd rather have someone call me on it than no safety measure and cause huge amounts of prop we try damage. I tested it and I can hurl things close to the speed of a car with my mind. I don't know my weight limit or control limit yet but I'd rather be safe."

"I think you're right 聲gel. And I'm starting to think my dizzy spells have more to do with that than the accident I was in. What the eff, man..."

That's the actual word she uses. Eff, for the letter F, symbolic of that most versatile of cuss words ever devised.

"I'm going to go lay on a couch or something until my head stops spinning," she says, picking up her teacup and wobbly making her way out of the room.

"An active 'X-gene?'" Tony says with a friendly laugh, "c'mon, that can't be right. I know we're learning that genes can code for more than one trait, but I'd wager it's more like an X-chromosome...errrr...I mean, 'M-chromosome,' or a larger unit of genetic data."

Tony scratches his head in thought.

"So, David, are you saying that you're afraid that you'll lose control of your powers? I dunno, like give into fear, anger, and hate?"

When Tammy leaves with Angel, he gives her a concerned look and waves goodbye. After a few moments, he turns back to the rest of the group.

Tammy sighs and downs the last of the tea in her cup, "The room has stopped spinning, so I might as well. I really hope I don't get dizzy like that every single time someone uses their quirk."

She gets up somewhat slowly, though, just to be sure, and leaves the cut behind with the pot as they head off to get checked.

Re: August, 2015:
Seeing as the Doctor didn't need to seem him yet, and a trip into town was out of question (not only due to his form), Blake wanders out to the school grounds. He walks aimlessly for a while, his long legs covering a lot of ground, before finding a sunny hillside to rest on and really stretch out. The confines of the building wasn't the only thing causing the tension in his muscles, and opportunity to truly relax was a luxury Blake is ill-accustomed to.

Blake finds the open fields of the campus grounds to be a bit chilly, probably owing to the high altitude. The air is clear and the sun is bright. Occasionally you see small furry mammals digging in the earth. They stare as you approach.

Re: August, 2015:
Blake takes a long, deep breath and sits, his tail stretching out behind him. He remains that way for some time, just soaking up what warmth the sun has to offer, and enjoying the peaceful nature of the area. After a time, the rodents resume their digging and scurrying. The motion catches Blake's eye, and his attention turns to watching the small mammals.

Soon however, the weight of his gaze turns intense, and his body stills, except for the tip of his tail, which begins to twitch, just a little. In a furtive motion, he casts a glace over his shoulder to the buildings in the distance, to see if anyone was outside. Not seeing anyone, he turns back to the animals, his eyes locking onto one nearby. In a flash of motion, he closes the gap, causing the creature to chirp and dive for its hole. It is too late however, as Blake smashes his claws into the ground around the startled rodent, scooping up a great handful of dirt along with the now squealing creature. With a flick of his thumb, he breaks the beast's neck, silencing it. With his other hand, Blake plucks the body from the mess of dirt in his hand almost delicately, and then tosses it up in the air where he snatches it in his maw, and swallows it in one great gulp.

He stands there a moment, eyes closed, taking another deep breath, clods of dirt falling from his hand; although its hard to tell if he's savoring the morsel, or calming himself. Soon, he opens his eyes to see the rodents all vanished and the mess of dirt he's left behind. With a sneer and sigh of contempt, he turns and stalks back towards the school, his tail lashing behind him.
