Re: The Forest Primeval

As Stoney presses another stone inward, yet another audible *CLICK* can be heard.  However, the sound came from the stone platform this time as opposed to the previous which sounded beneath the room you are in.

In reply to Larzander Gunderzen (msg # 162):

"Good going! If you've unlocked it we're golden. Either that, you've doomed us all. Some tombs and shrines are trapped, to prevent grave robbers from violating them. Perhaps this is the same, yes?"

Boris stood back, near Larz, curious if anyone was going to get pulped.

Trying again to move the stone Ondrea gave it a push to see if it will move.

Moving closer, Boris studied the images as well. "Ondrea, is there a pattern you see?"

"Buggered if I can see one."

While none of you are able to discern a specific pattern but, as fate would have it, as Stoney depresses yet another stone inward, an ominous, almost cacophonous grating sound can be both heard and felt beneath you.

Taking what could possibly be his last drink he makes sure it is a long one.
Siding his hand over a few of the tiles, hoping inspiration of some kind strikes before he pushed the next tile.
Mind and body numb, so even if he was prompted to feel something, he might not.
"Stand back!  Hope this doesn't make the mouth close and swallow us all!"  Said jovially.

Pushes a random tile in.

07:29, Today: Stoney Applesmith rolled 3 using 1d100.  random last tile pushed.

A booming sound of grating metal greets your eardrums as Stoney depresses yet another tile.  Immediately following, the remaining tiles all recess into their respective slots.

As Ondrea presses against the stone platform, she can actually feel a slight shift within the stone.  Before, it made no motion, as if it were a solid component of the platform, but now it feels 'looser'.

Re: The Forest Primeval

Both Ondrea and Larz struggle with the heavy stone platform.  On their first attempt, the large slab shifted slightly.  This encouraged them and they braced themselves, digging in deep.  Through sheer grit, with sweat developing rapidly, the pair manage to slowly but surely slide the massive chunk inch by inch.  The sound of stone grinding against stone echoed through the empty chamber, bouncing down the stairs and beyond.  An opening soon appears beneath the stone and, peering in, possess a set of steps heading downward.  One or two good pushes and the stone lid should be slid far enough to allow passage.

Ondrea continued to push until they could access the stairs. Once that was accomplished she crossed the roam to check no one was joining them from below.

"Should someone stay and make sure the stone isn't closed and sealed behind us? After all, we followed just one set of footprints here, there were others."

Moving forward, he checked the inside of the portal to see if there was a catch, that it could be opened from the other side.

"It is a good point, but I think we need all hands on deck as it were.... and of course the noise may have alerted others who come have a look and could easyly over power a single combatant." Ondrea will follow the others into the hole. She takes a position at the rear of the group watch and listening as she begins her descent.
