Marik wait a few seconds to see if Filimena goblin trigger any reaction. If not, he make his way toward M2 and knock gently with a arythmic pattern on the door, hoping to make clear to Maple (hoping she is still there) that it's not a hogbolin knocking. He cover his hand with a cloth to try to muffle the sound to anything but the interior of the room.

Outside in the corridor no sounds can be heard.

So he will knock gently on the door as written to signal their presence to Maple.

Surprised to hear no response, Filimena is about to send her illusion further into the hallway (OOC: M3) but, noticing the elf knock on the door to the room they'd previously entered, she pauses to see what happens.

No sound comes from room holding the control to the elevator in reply to Marik's knock.

Marik will try to open the door carefully.

The thought occurs to Filimena that something other than the halfling woman might be waiting behind the door, and she spins around to properly face it, raising her left arm in preparation to cast a spell if her admittedly slightly paranoid suspicions might prove correct.

The door opens smoothly and outside you find the hall you came into empty and quiet.

Not seeing Maple near the lever, Marik begin looking for sign of struggle or bloodstains that would indicate the halfling was killed or taken away. Maybe she simply went hiding in another room? He hopes so.



OOC: Marik rolled 15 for a Investigation check.

The hall remains eerily quiet as Marik looks about.  There are no signs of a fight outside of what the group had previously.

Then Marik will make his way with the group toward M3, to continue their journey (are we still talking about M3, the little room with the lever for the elevator? To my knowledge, we didn't have a fight there?)

Filimena can't decide if she's concerned or annoyed at the missing halfling. The possibility that she's been captured crosses her mind. What information might she have that she might give up if she's interrogated? Filimena frowns. There's nothing to do but to move on, though.

M2 is the small room with the lever

M3 is the hallway where you fought the statue and Xukasus.

Leading the group and expecting an ambush, Marik make his way slowly across the hallway and inspect the secret entry they found earlier, see if he or Rani can perceive any movement coming from there.


OOC: Marik rolled 13 for Perception. And Rani rolled 8 for a "smell" check.

Pointing discreetly at the elf, Filimena mutters something under her breath, casting Guidance on him.

OOC: The rules for Guidance say it can be cast after the check is made. In the interest of not having to wait for another reply, any objections to Filimena making this d4 roll on Marik's behalf? No halfling luck of course.

22:37, Today: Filimena the Gentle rolled 3 using 1d4 with rolls of 3.  Guidance.

And I keep forgetting I have this cantrip. It's terrible.

No sounds come from beyond the secret door.

Omaron mentions that he is pretty sure this door is so well made that it won't allow any sounds to be heard through it.

Marik nods and leads Rani toward the end of the hall to check the other entrance (the one leading to the plaza). As they walk, Marik whisper in Rani ear.

Still wary of the danger Rani appeared to have smelled earlier, the elf make a hand gesture to signal the others to follow him and let himself be carried by the large panther to the south-west.

Filimena winces. This can't be good news. There's no reason the halfling would have willingly left the (relative) safety of the room. Left arm raised ready to respond to any attack, Filimena follows close behind the elf, eyeing the dwarf to keep him in sight too.

Give me perception checks

OOC: Not fantastic, even with guidance. Although I did forget to add +3 bonus, so actually it's a 14, not an 11.

21:30, Today: Filimena the Gentle rolled 11 using 1d20+1d4, rerolling ones with rolls of 7,4.  Perception with Guidance.
