We meet over Coffee...

Theirs a small coffee shop in town its cozy enough inside, but also has a lot of people sharing a drink outside too.

the music play is perpetualy changing, ranging from very soft extremely lively.
the place isnt a freehold, but is a popular enough hang out for many Kithain, commoner and noble alike, almost exclusively Wilders

Right now, theirs a Wilder Squirrel Pooka by the name Annabelle, with her Tail curled in her lap currently sipping a cup of Cappuccino

You know her enough to know shes unseelie, She trades in information, and oftentimes plays malicious pranks.

She was happily seelie throughout her childer years, but the Accordance war killed several of her friends, and left her feeling Devastated and embracing her darker impulses

Theirs also a boggan , who you know is training to become a baker, he's quite seelie, and is a trustworthy salt of the earth fellow, he's finished his drink and enjoying the afternoon.

(You can approach either of them, or do something else)

We meet over Coffee...

As Bathsheba ap Scathach enters the cafe, she neatens her headwrap, silver jewellery chinking at her wrists, and looks around. She's a very tall Afro-Caribbean woman dressed in elegant but expensive clothes--a purple suit, evidently tailored, with an orange ethnic print silk shirt underneath. Although she is 43, she looks like she's in her mid-30s. To fae eyes, her suit is layered with lightweight armour plates adorned with ornate symbols. She wears trousers for mobility, which are padded at the shins and ankles. Meanwhile, her eyes are magnificent flashing brown, like the bottoms of bronze pans, a clear marker of her fae heritage which peeks through into her mortal seeming.

As she spots the boggan, she nods, recognising age before beauty, and then nods, too, at Annabelle. Opting to keep to herself for now, she heads to the counter. 'Do you make Turkish coffee?' she asks. 'Last time I was here, the girl recommended I try it and it was great.' She smiles at the server, aiming for a warm but authoritative demeanour, which is her preferred way of dealing with mortals.

We meet over Coffee...

Sat alone, and now sure she's not being watched, Bathsheba begins to trace the shape of a veve on her hand with her chimerical blade. As she chants to Orunla, Orisha of fate, she draws Glamour to her to empower her rune.

Bathsheba wants to use her Treasure here to create a rune on her hand. She intends to then read her palm if the rune attempt is successful, using the extra successes from the rune to make her prediction more accurate. If it's appropriate, she'll actually carve the rune/veve (chimerically) into her palm. Treasure systems being what they are, I'm not 100% on the system for activation. Does it automatically work if she fulfils certain criteria, or is she required to power the imbued Art with a roll?

After creating her veve, she pauses her chanting, drinks her coffee quickly, and then peers at the swirling coffee grounds at the bottom of the cup. Resuming her chant, but this time even less than a whisper, she smears the grounds across her now tattooed palm and begins to read...

So this is her bunk for the scrying cantrip.

Okay, I'm adlibbing here and assuming perhaps, as it's a simple Treasure and a simple effect, the Treasure just gives its rating as dice to the rune-enhanced cantrip. That seems balanced, I guess. So she'll roll for Soothsay 1/Omen with those two dice added on. So it's Intelligence (Scholarly) 4 + Fae 5. I'm guessing the bunk of cutting her palm to make a veve, smearing on the coffee grounds and chanting to read her fortune counts as at least a level 3 bunk? But I'll include my full dice roll just in case it isn't: 00:44, Today: Elizabeth rolled 13 successes using 11d10 with the World of Darkness 3rd ed, Specialised system with a target of 3, rerolling 10s ((6,3,7,8,10(+9),8,7,6,4,10(+8),5)). Even if it was only a level one bunk, thus reducing the difficulty to 8, she'd still have four successes. So what does she see in her own Dan?

Intrigued by what she sees in the Dan, Bathsheba considers her options. Would fame and fortune suit her? Perhaps. What about power? Undoubtedly much more so. Political power brings with it titles, titles bring holdings, holdings bring Glamour and access to the Dreaming. These things she could enjoy, even if it means mingling with the buffoons of court.

Standing, Bathsheba draws on her inner reserves of wit and cunning, and heads over to Annabelle. She is precise in her movements, showing poise and power.

'Good afternoon, Annabelle,' she says. 'May I sit?'

Smiling darkly, Bathsheba considers the little riddler before her. To help the girl would no doubt make her indebted to Bathsheba--at least in some small manner--and that might be helpful in her search for allies here. With her mentor still at large somewhere, and the mark that might leave on her own reputation, she has her work cut out for her. But she has things to do. Important things to do.

'Of course,' she says. 'What would you like to drink? Then maybe we can chat.'

'It would be my pleasure,' she says, waving away the money. 'I'll be two minutes.'

Bathsheba orders the drink, then brings it over to the young pooka. She takes a seat, imposing, commanding. Her back is straight, her hands resting together in front of her on the table.

'I hope it's good,' she says. 'So, I'm new here, but I've seen you around. I think it's always useful to scout out fellow Unseelie. We're usually in the minority, right? Power in numbers and all that.'

She studies the curious creature before her and continues, 'Do we have any Unseelie freeholds here? I'd like so introduce myself to the landlord in case I need to . . . replenish myself.'

'And they call us the tyrants!' she says, her voice as dark and thick as treacle. 'Tell me, are the nobles here popular? I myself have no title. As a lowly Scathach, I am seen as something less than sidhe, it seems. But I don't mind. My kind have mingled in the Autumn World with the commoners when the other houses snubbed those who remained. She nods, mulling over the words and what they actually mean. So, she thinks, it's as expected: unpopular sidhe, but without any real, organised opposition.

'What if the opposition were to organise? What then? I do wonder if your kind can ever learn to share. There should be Glamour enough for all, don't you agree? And these humans have taught us much: though the Dreaming picks natural leaders, it surely doesn't presume that only those it picks to lead from birth should ever do so? After all, the Dan is a largely ineffable thing. We merely try to interpret the signs it gives us.'

"When I first heard of the return of the sidhe It filled me with outrage despair,  and Fear." sighs forlornly

"Now I welcome their rule with open arms, and have no interest, whatsoever in seeing them feel what I felt when I learned of the Fae death of my mentor, who taught me since I was a childling of only 4. My Departure from the seelie court was quite amicable."

she pauses raising an eyebrow.

"To be sure, were only fighting for the unseelie, right not for those commoners who are still loyal to the Seelie court too right? I am of course, not at all interested in preserving the innocence of idealistic childlings like I once was, it would be wonderful if they all grew up like me, I am after all so very chipper."

sighs Shaking her head

"Its so right and fitting dont you think, I dont feel at all like a Grandmother towards childlings. Not that it would be that ridiculous to feel that way at my age. Because if I did Im not at all curious if I'd be a kind and doting Grandmother, or a Cynical and Manipulative one, who ultimately saw herself as looking out for her Grandchildrens interest wheither they liked it or not"

Sighs again "I'm barely a Wilder its so wonderful Im allready acting like a Grump dont you think."

But I like to pull up those who stand beside me. This isn't just an Unseelie battle. This is a battle for everyone who wants what they deserve. No fae should die at the hands of cold iron. She meets the pooka's gaze. 'You are very wise. I would like one such as you to become my protegee. I'm hardly a master of the Arts, but I specialise in those few things I am good at. "See, to me, standing in the way of another's pursuit of their dreams is truly criminal, Roger, I feel for you deeply," Ygraine says in a firm but gentle tone as she leans in a bit so that it's clear her words are meant as something for him to hear and pay attention to. "Too often have I seen untitled kithain given busy work as a means of control..." she says with a touch of something forlorn in her voice. "Yes, I understand that mastery of any pursuit requires diligent training and thoughtful application of the learner, but your baking master could be cultivating your talent rather then what? Putting you through the paces his master did him?" She asks with a touch of a frown on her lips.

Ygraine then sighs and waves away her words. "Listen to me, though I've a title, I've naught much more to my name, Roger. Thank you for your kind words, if nothing else, I'll always have the kind of honor that MEANS something, seeing as people know me for all my strengths and foibles. Which is the sort of thing no one can take away." Which is her way of thanking him for his compliment which does much to lighten her mood.

Sitting back in her chair she sips her coffee again before saying, "Would that I had the means to support a proper household, but that's not yet to be. I do have an idea though... one I fear you'll laugh at... but at the same time, you're the perfect person to bring it to... wlll you indulge me listening to my madcap notion with a kind ear?" she asks, playfully putting on a wheedling and coquettish air as she 'begs' for his kind attention.

Re: We meet over Coffee...

Ygraine:

He nods glad for some sympathy

"The line between "the duties expected of an apprentice, and blatant hazing, can be hard to see sometimes"
He pauses and nods. "I will gladly do so my lady, but are you sure you want to, Boggans find it difficult to keep things to themselves"

Just then a young pooka is coming back into the coffee shop  looking around and being seated, she looks like shes familiar with the surroundings

"Ah she returns" Roger comments.

Elizibeth: "Next week We'll all be meeting, but if you wish Im sure the baron would be more then willing to see you immediately"

Re: We meet over Coffee...

Ygraine chuckles and nods as the Boggan speaks of thin lines. "So true, I chose to figure that if it didn't kill me it  kept me from getting into trouble... sometimes..." she says while smiling a quirky, lopsided smile that hints at adventures best shared with harder drinks in hand then coffee. "That smile turns into something knowing and trusting as she goes on to say, "It's not a secret, secret, and it's an idea bigger then myself that'll require support, or that I abandon it... so either way, your reaction, Roger, will go a long way to determining which it is."

Ygraine shifts her seat, moving into more of a friendly conversational distance, inadvertently brushing her knee along Roger's thigh. "See, I'm inspired by the Old Ways and how we have always been people of two natures... I'd like to create a space that by day serves those who support while at night supports the pursuit of joy," she explains in broad strokes to see if he understands the foundation of her notion. "Like so many, I love going out and dancing in the dark, mixing music with high spirits and the promise of the Dark, but I've always thought a club space was 'wasted' during the day. So, what if a club could become something like a soup kitchen by day, giving something back to those who have little, while at night the space caters to those with a desire for diversion and adventure.... could there be merit in such a place in your eyes, Roger or is it madness?"

Ygraine waits expectantly for Roger's answer, unconsciously shifitng forward in her seat and moving closer to him to better hear his answer. She looks at the Pookah he points out and hmmms as she casts an assessing gaze over her. "She's not a regular here then," she quips, playfully aping most Pookah speech.

Re: We meet over Coffee...

"And I like the idea of creating a business around helping people, and helping people cut loose and have fun. I doubt there'd be a boring day, or night in such a place," Ygraine said with the sort of bubbly enthusiasm that only comes out when sharing something precious with someone you trust. Her happiness at hearing his approval for her idea is etched into her face and she reaches out to give his hand a little squeeze. "Thanks, Roger, it helps to hear that maybe I'm not alone in my desire to do well by doing good," she says gratefully.

Then the gorgeous, Sidhe Baroness sits back in her chair and takes another drink of her now lukewarm coffee. She screws up her face a bit, clearly missing it's lost heat. She sets the cup aside and then says, "If you don't mind, I'd love to keep bouncing this idea around with you, Roger. I'm no where near ready for a grand opening or anything, but I'd love to pick your brain for what neighborhoods are worth looking at for this and whose permission I'll need to ask amongst the 'nobles'..." Some of her enthusiasm drains when she acknowledges she'll need to kowtow to the local powers that be if this is going to get off the ground. Apparently that is something she doesn't relish.

"Our 'betters' have never had qualms about driving a point home deeply, and they're no strangers to the fact the lessons written in iron and blood are never forgotten," she says in a voice tinged by a world weary ennui. The she cracks a smile and asks, "some conversations are best had with drinks stiffer then coffee. Shall we quit this place and find one that better fits the spirit of our conversation?" "It's good that he at least acknowledged it, not that that makes up for anything that's happened since then," Ygraine said with a rueful sigh, nodding when the Pooka spoke of her feelings about the nobility. "Love lost is hard to find again. Then again, the current ruling class has lost so much... including it's way to the path of righteousness and responsibility," she mused darkly. Then she sighed and smiled as she headed for the door. She held it open for her new friend then said, "I'm counting on you to lead us somewhere we can let our hair down and have a good time." If she's Roger's aunt, getting her to work with him should be easy. Step two would be getting a new Kinain put in her place... hmm... that's something that would take more string pulling then I can do yet. In the interim, after I get settled into a place, I'd be happy to be play the role of responsible aunt to the Lost Boys," Ygraine offers gamely. "Happy to," Ygraine said jauntily as Mathew suggested she talk to the Kinain. She chuckled as Annabelle and nodded knowing then replies saying, "the easy path oft leads to ruin. Then again, how often does those in ivory towers dane to look down at the costs paid by their 'underlings'?" She inquired in a sad tone. Then Matthew claimed the Baroness' attention with his question and she laughed ruefully but nodded in agreement. "I've a few things to do today, but later is a definite 'yes'," she promised earnestly.

Then she looked up into the sky and frowned a little adding, "as day threatens to turn to night, tradition demands I make my way to those who rule here before the stars rise." Something in Ygraine's tone betrays the fact that she'd really rather spend the time with the two of them. Duty called, as much as she was loathe to answer it. Wryly she said, "I'm sure the Court has heard there's a big, bad Ailil in town. Best to meet them on my terms then theirs." She chuckled and asked her two companions, "would either or both of you lead me to where I might find this land's sovereign?"

"And thank you for the vote of confidence," she says to him softly before they enter the castle.

Ygraine chuckled as the Duke's flunkies gape at her then hurry her along into his presence. She offers the Duke the deference his office is due and looks at him askew as he expresses the emotion her House stirs up in him. She chuckled and dipped her head to him, acknowledging the truth in his words. "There are relics here that I seek agency over," she admits easily. "But in my short time here, a matter or two has come to my attention I would address. "Autumn People, then it makes even more sense to put distance between a Kinain and them. Her spark is too precious to let die due to the proximity to their banality," Ygraine said with real concern in her voice. "This would be a time when a friend of the family ploy might be most useful. I'd suggest she retire then become a foster parent, given her years of service that wouldn't be seen as odd. Would it?" She asked.

Then she waved away the Duke's expressions of his fears of her building a power base. "We are Sidhe, power is drawn to us like iron to a lodestone," she said with a wry and knowing grin on her lips. "I would see the Lost Boys have a place they can hang their hats and call 'home' when needed. That's why I think having the Kinain retire and serve as their foster mom could make sense to help handle mundane authorities. Or, once I settle into a place myself I would be happy to share my roof with them. Childings need protection and the safety to follow their dreams where they will go."

Ygraine smiled and nodded to Bathseba then said softly, "that pretty much should bring you up to speed. There are childings experiencing issues with social services, but our agent in place is no longer quite suited to the task. A new strategy is needed, and I can think of no more pressing need then ensuring young souls on the Changing Path have safe haven as they grow into who they will now be."

Bathsheba makes a small bow to Ygraine, a polite sign she concurs than any real sign of deference.

'I agree, my lady. It would make sense that such matters are placed in the hands of the most capable to support such young fae. If the Duke,' she turns to face him again as she speaks, 'is uncomfortable with the thought of an Ailil running such an establishment, perhaps the Scathach can be a useful intermediary between the Duke and the Baroness? We are a house of balance, and one with more experience of the Autumn World than any other, for many of us stayed back when the sidhe retreated to Arcadia. That makes us, I think, powerful intercessionists. I wouldn't want to step on any toes, but I would like to help, if I may. You know neither of us yet, and so we are to prove ourselves, but perhaps in this joint endeavour we will have the opportunity to do so.'

Ygraine chuckled at the question the Duke posed. "Home schooling would draw too much attention. I'm surprised there hasn't been a private academy set up locally for our Kithain Childings and young Kinain. Or," she says, tapping her chin thoughtfully with the index finger of her left hand. "A Charter School... perhaps /that's/ a good use of our retiring Kinain. Perhaps a rich uncle of hers could leave her a house and some lands on which she could establish a boarding school for artistic youth?" She offers lightly then looks around to see if any refreshments are on offer.

Upon seeing Bathseba bow to her, Ygraine dipped her head slightly, acknowledging the polite gesture. She listened to the Scathach's suggestion in support of her endeavor and bowed her head to the Duke to show her acceptance of the other Sidhe's offer of assistance in service to the youngest members of their society. "Yes, as trust is best earned through deeds done for others, indulge us in this, good Sir Duke. Judge us not from whispers of the past but from how we bring this to fruition," said the Baroness in gentile tones.

During a bit of a pause uncomfortable silence for a second, Matthew speaks out of turn , if perhaps forgivably "My Lord shouldnt you be offering my lady and the other lady here Refreshments they've both had a long trip" He points out sourly, but with some degree of real concern for Ygraine. having looked them over and been able to intuit it about them.

"Ah yes, where are my manners" The duke says, grudgingly, but politely enough.

"Am I to take it this Rapscallion is now under the Baronesses protection?"  duke asks darkly.

Matthew waits hopefully for the answer.

"Wine, tea" The duke asks grudgingly.

Ygraine favored Matthew with a grateful glance when he spoke up out of turn. She let flicker in her eyes her appreciation for his concern as the Duke shifted topics then asked after Matthew. "It would be remiss of me not to nurture so gallant a soul, would it not?" Ygraine asked the Duke, nodding 'yes' as she spoke. She flashed Matthew a warm smile as she heard the refreshment the Duke offered. "A frosty glass of Ice Wine would be most welcome, if such might be stocked in the Duke's cellar," she replied then looked to Bathseba to see what her choice might be.

Ygraine smiles and dipped her head in a gesture of thanks to the servant who brought her the chilled glass of thick, amber-green liquid. She sipped at it, her smile broadening as the cool, sweet wine passed her lips and washed over her tongue. "That's a sound plan, your Grace," she says to the Duke, chuckling a bit as he talks of summoning the Kinain. There was no mirth in the sound nor was there disrespect, it was more something that betrayed the fact that she's just witnessing business as usual.

Now, when the Scathach spoke in such a dissembling manner to the Duke, a little guffaw escaped her. She waves the sound away with her left hand and nodded as she said, "I look forward to it. Roger, please lead the way." As she spoke she looked to see where he was so she could follow his him to wherever they were to meet the Kinain.

Ygraine falls in step with Rodger as he leads them through town taking a twisting and winding path. She chuckles and asks, "Are we hitting every one of this town's alleys today?" Her tone is playful and amused, not frustrated or petulant, and she flashed their guide a warm smile. As she approaches the building her nostrils are assaulted by the ozone like smell of Banality in the air. She nods in agreement with Bathseba's words, steeling herself for what they are about to face. "In for a penny..." she muses as she follows the directions she was given in her quest to find the aged Kinain. Instinctively, she works to avoid the worst of the Banality permeating this place, not wanting to be undone, but knowing her mission calls for this level of risk in order for her to succeed

Well inside a lot of the people reek of banality, and seem totally ignorant of it.

the single light note, relatively speaking, is the woman you find, shes in her late 30s, but isnt quite as heavy with banality as the rest of the people here.

she has brown hair thats starting to gray, and is starting  to wrinkle a bit and put on more then a little weight but she is not yet obese.

She pauses seeing you turning and asking "Can I help either of you?"

Ygraine pasted a pleasant smile on her face as she made her way to the cubicle she sought in the maze of mundanity and dead dreams. She  gives the Kinan the once over and feels bad for the sorry state she's been left to wallow in. She nods as the social worker speaks then nods when Elizabeth introduces them both. She holds out a hand to the woman with brown and grey hair and says warmly, "I do hope so, I've a family matter that's... delicate... and I was told you are the one I should come to for help with it." The Baroness' tone is gentle, but just a touch anxious, as if she was troubled but trying to cover it up with grace. For the moment, she was cloaking the truth in ordinary words as a kind of armor against the heavy atmosphere of banality surrounding them.

"I'm the aunt in this picture," she shares, scotching her seat a little closer to the social worker so she could lower her voice. "I'm really worried about some cousins and nephews of mine. They're good kids, mind you, but have become a bit of a handful. I'd like to help my sister out because recently, she's gotten in over her head, I'm afraid," the Sidhe Baroness explains as she bumps her knee against the Kinain's and imbues her with some of her Glamour. "You may know her, she's with Duke. He's just as concerned about the kids as I am," Ygraine says meaningfully then gives the Kinain a moment to resettle into how things really are now that Banality's hold on her is weakened.

Then she laughed a little and opened her arms to clap them about the shoulders of the two she walked with. "Sorry for climbing up on a soap box, but ennui is the undoing of any good soul," she said as an explanation but not an apology.

Then she looks from one to the other, casting an assessing eye over them both. Then with a resolute nod she looked to the kinain and said., "I'd invite you to begin your reading with Bathseba. I already know my story and have caught some hints at what's to come. Martha is doing her Reading on Elizibeth, with an Elaborate Tarot reading, clearly beinig so burdened with banality this is the only way she can invoke any kind of cantrip... but finally shakes her head "Your Dan is currently clouded, at least from me"

Sighing she Gets out one of her stones while looking at Ygraine focuses and it glows and then dissipates, and you feel even for all the banality within her, Glamour radiates outward from it... focusing her hands as she draws card after card

She pauses "I see it snowing around you, and you are comfortable amidst the blizard... you are unseelie" she pauses a little nervous then "But I know better then to distrust you based on that."

Re: We meet over Coffee...

Ygraine smiled and bowed her head in response to Matthew's question. "I would be proud and honored to do so, Matthew. You've proven yourself to be quite a fine fellow with an agile mind and steadfast nature," she says with a warm smile on her lips that makes her eyes sparkle. She then leans in and murmurs to him conspiratorially, "And you've demonstrated your acumen with your request; you'll only achieve those things in life you're truly willing to go for." She makes no mention of establishing direct ties to her Noble House as such a thing would be premature, but she does note his little bit of trepidation as something to address later on in private.

Ygraine stays silent, but attentively observant as Martha does her Reading on Elizibeth, noting the intricacy of the Tarot spread she uses but not recognizing it. She sighs as she witnesses the plight the faeblooded woman suffers and silently vows to help her through it. She's happier when Martha draws on her Glamour and makes the stone glow as some image of the noble Sidhe's fate fills her minds eye. Sighing she nods, being no stranger to the ways of Winter Storms, both their blinding power and biting, fortifying chill.  "We three know this world is made of more then Summer's Fancy and warm daydreams of sun. The wheel of time is only complete when the Cold and the Dark are accorded their due," The Baroness said with pride and purpose ringing out in her tone. Then she laughed and tussled Matthew's hair and added, "After the storm comes Snow Angels, Black Diamond trails and the Winter King's bounty shared as each merits,"

After a moment Ygraine extends a hand towards Martha and another to Bathseba. "Our visit isn't a mere social call," she says after the Scathach talks of Glamour's attainment. "We come out of a desire to help those young souls who find themselves 'Lost' and to address the perilous position your self sacrificing service has put you in," the lovely noblewoman explains to the Kinain.

"We'd like to enter into partnership with you, dear kin, to set up a foster home for the Lost Boys. The Duke has agreed to support this effort as it would serve to put you less in the path of those Banal Souls that taint your workplace yet allow you to continue to help those who need our protection the most," Ygraine goes on to say before looking deeply into Martha's eyes as she asked, "Could this be something you'd enjoy undertaking with us? For my part, I can promise you my friendship and venturesome spirit to make these days something to remember with fondness always," she adds smiling in a warm and wicked way, the kind of smile that promises adventure, fear and wonder.

Ygraine welcomes Martha's assessing gaze a laughs musically when the Kinain makes her pronouncement. "As the 'villain' in the Passion Play staged by House Gwydion, of course House Ailil embodies all that is foul and base in the world. How else could they justify themselves?" She quips, speaking playfully and twirling an imaginary handlebar mustache between two fingers. Then she nods as Martha explains her last hesitation and she reaches out to give the careworn woman a gentle squeeze on the shoulder to show her support. "I would NEVER countenance you abandoning the charges you've taken into your heart, Martha. Duty means nothing unless driven by personal desire. passion inflames us to act, so of course you'll continue to offer them all the support you can," the Baroness assures the Kinain earnestly. "And you won't do so alone, we're in this together, you and me. I won't see you suffer your duty or deny yourself the things that ignite your passions, ever," she says in a firm, inalterable tone.

Then Ygraine looks from Martha to Bathseba and back again, her brow furrowed pensively. "A thought... perhaps you could quit your current job citing the need to 'do more for these families' and 'helping them with what they NEED not what the red tape ALLOWS'? Basically storm off as if taking up a crusade, perhaps inspiring the less banal of your co-workers to stay in contact with you as you start a 'new phase of your life'... making it less odd that you left and more that you're being true to who they know you to be, Martha? What do you two think of that... oh, and you, Matthew... am I nuts or could this work?" She asked her companions, genuinely welcoming their input and opinions.

Bathsheba smiles. Clever girl, she thinks of Ygraine. You've got it all worked out.

'I think your counsel is solid,' she says. 'Leaving in such a manner might also inspire some of those around you to rekindle some of their own Glamour. Leaving this place with a spark more Glamour than when you arrived might be a good thing, yes? And you won't be alone. We will help. We'll help both of you,' she says, reassuring Matthew too. 'I think we could all enjoy this endeavour. I have to admit, my own faerie soul has lasted so long only because of the energy of the young. This is a way for us all to ease our own declines into Winter.'

Recalling Ygraine's speech, she adds, 'Because, while Winter is indeed a necessity, so too is the Spring which follows. Even if we allow ourselves to be bitten by frost, we needn't give up dreaming that we'll ever thaw again. If we can retain that small faerie light within ourselves, allow it to pass on to conjoin with new human souls, then we have allowed our true nature to thrive even if the flower must wilt to shed its seed.'

"Yes, I've put my case before Martha and happily she's decided there's merit in my suit. Isn't that so, dear?" The Baroness asks the Kinain, according her the respect of a peer rather then treating her as a non-entity as most members of her Kith do. She smiles encouragingly at the enchanted woman, inviting her to give voice to her thoughts on the matter as Ygraine takes a half step back and places an arm around Matthew's shoulders in a gently caring way. Then the Ailil then gives Bathseba a look that invites her to second everything that's being said to the Duke to show her solidarity to their common cause.

Re: We meet over Coffee...

Ygraine smiles encouragingly at Martha them nods to invite her to tell her more about the situation with her family. "Of course, I'm happy to do what I can to ease your burdens, Martha. Share what you will of what has transpired and I will think on what can be done to ameliorate things," she offers without waiting to hear what she's getting herself into.

shivers "The mothers a chain smoker and is more interested in tobacco, then feeding herself or her kids" sighs shaking her head.

Re: We meet over Coffee...

Ygraine opens her mouth to reply to Martha, then her eyes light up and her mouth snaps shut. Her lips curl up in a mischievous smile which becomes a way too pleased grin before she starts laughing. She holds up a hand, asking for their patience as she keeps laughing then manages to regain her composure. Wiping away merry tears she asks Matthew, "Tell me you've read or watched Matilda..." Then she looks to Martha and responds, "I believe we can kill two birds with one stone... handle this family problem and win the loyalty of the Lost Boys..."

Re: We meet over Coffee...

Ygraine waves over Matthew then smiles broadly as she explained her designs by saying, "Matthew... do you think the Lost Boys would like to play a game... it's an old one... it's called, 'They know better, but still they're dumb'... This mother needs to be reminded that her kids mean more then her next puff... and it would be their challenge to use everything from mundane trickery to the most Glamourous Magical feats they could imagine to punish her for her neglect of her children and casual cruelty to the ones who need her the most. They "win" when she's changed her ways and is the mother her little ones deserve."

Ygraine's eyes go to her companions and then the Duke as she adds, "it goes without saying that Death is off the table and no real, lasting harm should be done. Think of stories like Matilda, where she got to punish her parents when they stepped out of line or all the fairy tales where the Dormavoi played tricks on their host family when they were disrespected. This is a role we've played throughout the ages, and what better time to introduce the young ones to this part of ourselves?"

Re: We meet over Coffee...

Martha nods at that agreeing it might help it might render the mother too mentally damaged to ever do anything again... but as it stands, that would be an improvement.

Bathsheba smiles her dark smile. 'Very well. And perhaps we can let the Glamour flow. I'm in need of some stimulation and perhaps our boys could use some too.'
