Off to See the Archaeologist
=== Christian and Edward ===

At the moment, there's no indication that the sailor the Seekers are trying to find went anywhere but the waterfront. There are a number of shops frequented by sailors, in particular the tattoo parlors (3 of them), the fortuneteller, Carla's Cookhouse, Captain Jack's Fish and Chippy, clothing stores, beads and trinkets, Mother Faduci's Charms and Potions, and Galavant's (liquor). These are all interspersed with the dives and other bars.

You are looking for anyone else that might also be looking for the sailor, and once you've exhausted these place, you'll probably visit the same dives that Eisen and Nicoli were looking into.

Off to See the Archaeologist
Edward accompanied the young officer of the boat along the waterfront's row of shoppes and stores.  He had an easy smile on his face, his hand resting easily on the pommel of the sword at his side.

Being a sailor, and therefore more than a little superstitious, Edward indicated the fortuneteller and the Charms shop.  The liquor store was a given, of course, but better to start elsewhere and see if they could find the trail.

"I suggest the potion store and the fate-teller first, Sir.  But whatever ye feel is best, of course."

OOC: Anything in particular to roll?

Off to See the Archaeologist
OOC: Not at the moment. The only remotely relevant skill might be Notice but there's really nothing to notice yet. You don't have enough information about the sailor yet to speculate where he might have gone.

Although... that's really not what you are looking for. Sure, Wits + Notice should work.

OOC:
08:15, Today: Edward Port rolled 18 using 5d10 with rolls of 7,1,3,3,4.  Wits + Notice.

So, that's a group of (7,3) for one success.

Re: Off to See the Archaeologist
Edward does notice the two men standing just outside the fate-teller's shop. That is, he can clearly see them, and he has to admit that they look like locals, but what he really noticed was that they both cast surreptitious glances at everyone that passes by, and also at the door of the shop. They otherwise appear to be engaged in casual conversation, occasionally gesturing around at one shop or another.

Edward's curiosity is immediately raised.

He turns his back to the shop and meets the eye of the young officer.

"So, that's odd behavior."

He gives Christian a moment before he says with a smile.

"I have the sudden urge to have my fortune told."

Without a second thought, Edward turns and strides directly at the fortune teller's shop.

Re: Off to See the Archaeologist
Christian tended to avoid the occult mumbo jumbo that were out there. Sailors were already a superstitious lot, and there was little reason to add to it. Even with that said; the Captain's he had served under said that Mr. Port had a good instinct for many things as long as they did not involve drink, women or gambling. ""Wait up; I am coming."

Re: Off to See the Archaeologist
Edward slows his gait just enough to allow Christian to catch up with him.  After all, this may turn into something a little more physical than visual searching and it would pay to have someone with him to even the odds.  Especially if these two men turn out to be lookouts for illicit behavior.

Edward heads immediately to the door, reaching for it.  He doesn't look to the two men, ignoring them entirely.  He was aware of them, of course, very keenly aware.  But he moved as if he wasn't going to interact with them...unless they forced the interaction.

Let's see what shakes off the boat now...

Re: Off to See the Archaeologist
Edward enters the fate-teller's shop, and the two loitering men seem to pay no attention to him.

Inside, it's the usual trappings of bead curtains, a darkened interior, and a single table with a black tablecloth over it. There are only two chairs at the table, and sitting in one is the Fate Witch--Madam Vitalya.

"Please, be seated," she says in Avalonian, but you can hear the Vodaccian accent.

"It is often said that if a fate-teller was truly any good she would already know what you want. Only the na´ve believe that."

"There are many things that a person wants, some obvious, some in his conscious mind, some in his heart, and even some in his soul. They are always vying for attention, so it is nearly impossible for a fate-teller to tell what a person wants to know at any given moment."

"It is only when you speak your wants that a path opens."

"So, what is it that you want, Mr. Port?"

Re: Off to See the Archaeologist
"Oh ho ho...you're good," Edward said with a wry smile.  "Well, since there be no reason to attempt to pull one over on ya, I'll be plain."

He sat down and made a motion with his head back toward the door.  "Ya have a pair of very curious individuals watchin your place.  And since I am trying to find someone who just might have come through this very room, and maybe sat at this table..."

He tapped the black tablecloth with the knuckles of his hand.

"Well, let's just say that I'm hopin' that something fortuitous gives me and my companion some information."

He leaned back in the chair.  "Now, I had been betting on it being the two outside, but that may have been a mistake.  But now I'm curious if you yourself have any insight...and if you're as half as good as you are presenting, then that should be all ya need to know."

Re: Off to See the Archaeologist
"Who you seek is beyond my ken, though I can give you the path he treds," Madame Vitalya answers.

"What you seek... that is a different matter. It has not yet left Avalon. Its path is... obscure... as I am sure you understand why."

"The sailor's name is Prad. He sailed on the Iphigenia for Vendel."

"As for those outside, they are not watching me, nor just my shop, but any others in this area that someone might stop into in search of information. So far, you do not match that description for you only stopped here."

"They do not believe in Fate, so would not seek the sight of a fate-teller for their answers."

She then nodded at the collection bowl, both to indicate that the session was over and than a 'donation' would be appreciated.
