I started to post, but found I had a lot of questions...

What kind of "tests" are they doing?

What kind of information, if any, have they given us?

Under what authority are they keeping us in quarantine?

How have they responded to requests (or even attempts) to leave?

Mostly blood tests or other basic physical exams, nothing invasive.

They haven't given you much info beyond the fact that the purple mist was a very dangerous chemical that can have delayed effects.

The Implication is that they are under the authority of the government though they have been evasive on specifics.

All requests to leave have been deflected with warnings about the dangers and have been denied.

So, we're quarantined and tested, but are we also being held incommunicado?

I'm finding that I have trouble not conflating this scenario with similar scenarios in other games/settings/media (Red Markets, in particular) where this would be the point that they start the harvesting and experimentation ;)

Still, we're a happy bunch of campers, I can see.

No Rpol, I don't want to use Daryl Hannah in kill bill as my avatar picture. Stupid eye patches.

I'm highly amused by the fact that I intended Candace's rantings to be the "lunatic fringe" of things and she's somehow ended up being the norm.

Well, Laura really is incredibly bored, and frightened. So well, her comment following Candace's was meant to incite. Looks like it worked :p

FYI, I'm traveling, so will be less able to reply than usual. I am checking updates on my phone and have my laptop with me, so I'll reply when I can, will just be a little slow sometimes.

Well, that'd require the GM to log into the group.  Seeing as how that's not happened for a week...

It does happen by accident sometimes, and GMs do come back...

Dear GM you have not logged in in 8 day to advance the storyline. as such we  we have grown increasingly concerned.  I imagine that if you don't login by the weekend most people will probably drop.

Drop what?
OH!
Never mind.
Who wants to bet GM started year three of four and now has no time for games?
Year three of four is always the worst, like a good movies first sequel is almost inevitably worse than any sequels following it.
Star Wars doesn't count, because the sequels were more like installments in a serial. Can you imagine if the first Star Wars trilogy had been made as an "epic miniseries" for television, in six one hour "special presentations"?

Ooookay.  The GM isn't logging in to see your posts, so all you're doing is making the game pop back onto everyone's sticky list.  If you want to nag the GM, do it via private messages.

I, like I suspect most of the rest of everyone, have taken the game off my sticky list.  If there's a new post, it pops back up and I go read it.  If the GM comes back and wants to restart things, great.  I'll be here, and I'll see it.  If not, then it's gone.

This kind of thing happens on RPOL all of the time.  There's no need to post repeatedly at someone that hasn't logged on in 10 days.  All you are doing is making the other players check the game, only to see the GM is still gone.

Yeah, I'm watching that, too. I'm about to lose prime, though, so I can't really count on seeing too many more of them.

Re: OOC
So... If I were to start a game with a vaguely similar theme to this one, would anyone be interested?  GURPS4 or M&M3 are both possibilities for a system.

Re: OOC
I certainly would. I'm decently experienced with GURPS but haven't really played M&M. I'd be willing to learn though.

Re: OOC
The concept is pushed a bit more toward a high school (though it's not required for every PC).  The thread is here:
