Re: OOC: The First Chapter - August 2016

Wow...5e has a lot of throwback to it, but they do a good job of updating the old adventures so that they seem new again. That's an adventure I wouldn't mind being involved in.

Re: OOC: The First Chapter - August 2016

I'm good with a bit of a slower pace this week, especially after combat. Got a bit going on and not as much time with the shortened week. You guys keep posting as you will, I'll be checking in daily like I usually do...just not gonna initiate much.

FWIW: you do want to check the chest. Some useful things in there. FYI.

Re: OOC: The First Chapter - August 2016

Post coming today. Hope all of you enjoyed your Memorial Day Weekend. If you get a minute, hug a vet.

Quick story, my Dad was a WWII vet. Long before I read the Hobbit, I was reading stories about D-Day (my Dad was a tailgunner in the B24 Liberator - 19 missions over Europe), Iwo Jima, the Battle of the Bulge, Okinawa, etc. His life, and those stories set the tone for my worldview growing up. His life defined for me the concepts of honor, courage and fidelity. His example inspired a young wayward son to eventually join the Navy - during my four years I visited the Persian Gulf twice.

Dad passed in November, 2016. I think about him every day, and still strive to be the man he would want me to be because of the example he showed. I am very fortunate to have had him as a father.

Thanks all for playing. Looking forward to the next chapter of our shared adventure.

Wow, a thank you to your Dad and all of the Veterans.

My family an I had the privilege of visiting Europe, this past summer.  We toured lots of the world war II sights over there.  A very humbling experience.  America is blessed for all of the sacrifices that that generation did.

Re: OOC: The First Chapter - August 2016

With the anniversary of D-Day coming up, I am reminded how much our country sacrificed. We lost so many; the price of freedom is very high. And yet, these young men paid it > those who died, and those who survived with the never-ending, horrific memories of what they witnessed. We are forever in their debt, and God help us should we forget or take what we have for granted.

Re: OOC: The First Chapter - August 2016

Good morning, gang & Happy Monday - if there is such a thing. Got together with my face to face group on Saturday - we ran from noon until 1:30 am. Doesn't get much better: we were teleported into the middle of a seabattle in rough seas and weather, with two viking longships (with requisite totems: one dragon, one wolf) and had to figure out who the bad guys were.

It was pretty epic - we chose wisely!

Now in the middle of trying to protect our sorceress from a coven of witches while dealing with demonic foes. That's where we left off. One of the best gaming sessions I've ever been a part of!

So, with my juices flowing, and me taking a 'me' day, I'm ready for whatever hijinx you guys have in store for me!

Cheers!

Re: OOC: The First Chapter - August 2016

The party gets a relatively decent night's sleep. No sounds filter into the rooms - standard watches meant that now and again, those on watch would slip into the lower room (Lounge) and make sure the spikes were still in place. Most times they'd stop and ogle the female nude as well...

You all get the sense that it's daylight in the outside world. The last watch wakes the others, and the party debates what they wish to do.

Suddenly, a loud noise breaks the outer silence, almost like someone slaming into the door in the lounge. That you all heard it from the dining area speaks volumes.

Actions?

Re: OOC: The First Chapter - August 2016

Initiative is probably the most important stat when it comes to winning a fight. My poor bone minotaur is getting nickel and dimed because he's last in the line of initiative.

Woe is me...

Happy 4th, y'all.

Re: OOC: The First Chapter - August 2016

Yes, it is post or msg 5 in the map 'thread.'

It is blue and white with red squigglies that some other unfortunate party laid claim to. Perhaps those poor deaders at the entrance tunnel.

Anyway, you guys are outside Room 4 with the option to up or down the corridor.

PM me if you're confused.

I need a marching order - Uthecar broke down the door - you want him to lead? And what about everyone else?

Thanks!

Oh, and here's a pic where we stayed on LI for anyone who cares.
