Re: Combing Quesqueton

The crystalline structure has left no deposits on the floor - it is a colorless, shapeless mass, with jagged edges and gentle curves.

The rest of the room is fairly non-descript.

OOC:  I know this is totally stupid, but a character got to do what a character needs to do

Zan takes out his sword and jammed it into one of the gagged edges in an attempt to break a piece off.

Re: Combing Quesqueton

Zan: roll a d20 please.

Everyone else, please roll for an idea. take your intelligence and multiply it by 2 - your target is below the total roll. i.e. if your intelligence if 15 and you roll a 28, you succeed. If you roll above a 30, you don't have an idea.

So...do we roll a d20 or d100?

I'm sorry - percentile, so d100

yes, Zan, 19 will suffice. Your sword did not break in twain. Nor did it break the crystal either.

"You might want to try doing that with the pommel next time mage.  It's better than risking a blunt blade in battle," Uthecar suggests gruffly like a Sargent uneasy at a soldier for being careless with his weapon.

"Pardon me, Padre," said Myrrick, stepping past Kullonar to open the door one more time. After a moments thought, he asks, "Uh, guys, was that wall there before?"

His arm's extended, pointing down the corridor.

Re: Combing Quesqueton

As the party gathers at the entryway, they note the corridor they had most recently traveled up is not but 20' long from where they stand, and ends in a blank stone wall. Meanwhile, to their left another corridor runs some 30', turning left from where they are standing.

ooc: hmmmm...

Re: Combing Quesqueton

Failing to believe it is possible Uthecar walks along the corridor that he knows is there, rather than what his eyes are told.  "This is strange stuff, something must be playing tricks with our minds.  We all saw the corridor that was here before didn't we."  He will feel his way with his shield arm extended testing where the wall does not configure to his previous layout memory.

Bruno looks down the 'corridor' and shrugs, "I... Do not recall this being here.

"Can none of us detect whether or not there is wizardry at work here?"

Re: Combing Quesqueton

His eyes wide, Weasel looks around suspiciously.

"What the hells and hades?" he asks no one and everyone in particular. He too approaches the wall, touches it - it certainly feels real enough, the stone smooth, but not so smooth that he can't feel the roughness on the face of the stone.

"Where did this wall come from," he asks plaintively, looking about at the others.

Uthecar frowns at the wall.  Can he or Bruno notice any stones that might move, or shifting sliding parts to the walls?

Re: Combing Quesqueton

(DM Rolls dice vigorously.)

You note nothing unusual about the stone wall. There do not seem to be any grooves, pulleys or switches that might effectuate the movement of walls.

"Oh good." Myrrick says as the wall yields no evidence of a way to open it. "It's as if the complex is leading us somewhere."

"Convenient," the warrior priest replies.

He looks about, "But nothing good comes from such convenience. There is magic at work. There must have been an illusion or something working here.

"Let's just follow this passage and see what happens."

Uthecar nods agreement and is ready to lead the way up and around room 16 to the 10 by 10 alcove.  It is a strange formation looking like it might be where a secret or concealed door might be located.  He will do the usual check, along with a search of the 10 by 20 area next door.

Re: Combing Quesqueton

Uthecar leads the way, tromping down a corridor some 40' long. Here, a labyrinth twisting begins, one passage going right and right, the other, left then left.

A new map is up in the map thread. You'll note the Upper and Lower level maps are no longer in place because, quite frankly, the current passages are unlike anything any of you recall, except for the scope of the crystal room.

Along with the corridors, there is an additional door in the first turn to the right.

Re: Combing Quesqueton

As stubborn as a dwarf Uthecar will hesitate around where the corridor moved up and around room 16 before about 30 feet down from the door checking the left wall closely.

"Pissing dead mage mind tricks." He is heard to mutter under his breath as he scans the rockface of the passage.

If he is unsuccessful in finding anything he will reluctantly move up to the north unless anyone really wants to go down to the south.

The only think Uthecar and Bruno are sure of is that there are no shifting walls, floors or ceilings that they can tell.

Weasels face is flushed with sweat, and he's muttering to himself. Those around him capture the occasional snippet such as, "What are we doing here?" and "Where the hell are we."

Its fairly apparent that the young man is working himself into a frenzy of fear.

OOC: sorry gang, was caught up in the working world.  don't you just hate when that gets in the way   LOL

Zan was still trying to figure out the crystals but decided to leave well enough alone and followed along with the others into the newly discovered passageway.  "Must have been the lighting" was his only comment.
