Re: The Warrens Below
The current is water - the ichor of the giant bug might be a bit oily, but with the current, it's going to flow out in a matter of minutes. The water's drinkable.
The party - pending refilling waterskins - winds it's way from the grotto, back around to where the dead still lay, well, dead, then they head up toward what appears to be a huge cavern, at least based upon your spotty recollection of the map in the upper level.
A few things stand out:
1- A strong, unpleasant odor grows as you head upward on the map, akin to bat guano. Some of you would know what saltpeter is (the dwarves in particular have knowledge of such) - the smell is very much akin to that.
2- Bat activity as you draw closer to the massive cavern increases. It is a nuisance, and the small squeaks the critters let out echo in a disconcerting fashion throughout the area.
3- The sound of dripping water is now more pronounced. Periodically you feel the drip land on helms, making a tinny sound, and you note a dampness that has gotten more pronounced as you've walked through the caverns.
Onward and ever upward, as they say: Party's actions?
Oh, and happy Friday everyone. My sister has indications of the Corona Virus. She is self quarantined, seems to be in good spirits...but, well, still scary stuff. My advice? Stay home this weekend. I'd say watch sports, but that's pretty much out. Did you know there's not enough test material to go around? New Rochelle has been hit pretty hard (NR is a suburb of NY - fyi) and they've limited tests to those 70 and older, I believe. Anyway, this is not the apocolypse...I don't think.
:)
