Re: Chapter Four: Lessons Learned

Passing around the box so that everyone gets a few, Bruno bows, "With these and all of the strength offered by your Lady's blessings we are prepared."

OOC: Bruno has 4 vials of his own and suspect that Kullonar also has some, so I suggest Gildan, Myrrick, and Gregors should take 3 each.

Re: Chapter Four: Lessons Learned

The party, having been buttressed by Nimae, makes their way toward the fateful crypt where once a mighty hero was laid to rest. The stone door is closed.

Actions, O mighty warriors?

ooc: this would be a good time to calibrate your marching order.

It opens much like it did before. The stench of death hovers within like a grim shroud. You know the way.

A tactical marching order would behoove you.

Re: Chapter Four: Lessons Learned

The party forms two columns, three in a row. Led by Bruno and Ulrich, you head into the crypt, bypassing previous encounters until you get to the great circular chambers where the undead are. From your vantage, there still seems to be a lot of skeletons and zombies around. Where the bugbear with the boars head is not in sight from you where you stand. Non of the deaders are moving.

ooc: normally I'd say roll initiative, but since their not moving, perhaps you would like to try sneak up on them? If not, roll initiative.

Re: Chapter Four: Lessons Learned

Kullonar doesn't remember much of the trip to the tomb.
The image of Nimae in the rain has clouded his brain, and he keeps replaying her words over and over again: "How may I suckle you this fine morn'?"

Suckle...did she really say that? By the Cudgel! Get your head on straight, Kull!
His companions see the Half-Orc priest shake his head a few times and then take some deep breaths as they enter the tomb once again.

09:37, Today: Kullonar rolled 4 using 1d6.  Initiative.

Re: Chapter Four: Lessons Learned

The animates seems sluggish, even the skeletons. In the time it takes them to rouse themselves, the party is already a step ahead.

You all have inititive: Let Slip the Dogs of War!

ooc: One of the issues during the prior attack on the tomb was the 6 initiative I rolled for the skeletons. Put you guys behind the 8 ball, so to speak. This would be a good time to maximize your damage.

As always: Good luck!

Ulrich: You roll first to see if you succeeded in turning an undead then you roll to see how many you turned. You did succeed in turning undead, now roll a d12 to see how many you turned.

Re: Chapter Four: Lessons Learned

Yes, I can't recall whether there were 6 left or 8. I'm gonna split it down middle: 7 zombies left. The bugbear's still hanging around as well.

As for the skeletons, they flee as quickly as they may, most making their way toward entrance to the crypt, some going deeper. I'll say 8 fled deeper, 20 headed toward the exit.

Myrrick destroys a zombie, the smell of burnt flesh surrounding every one. As for Gregors, he shows his use as a spearman: Another zombie goes down.

The zombie monster attacks Myrrick who takes 2 points of damage.

Five zombies have arrived, each wading into the troop of adventurers. Only one hit, but that was max damage: 8 points of damage to Kullonar!

The round is up: your initiative.

Round 2

Initiative:

Ulrich: 5
Bruno 7
Kullonar 4
Myrrick 4
Gildan 7
Gregors 5

With the skeletons in full retreat, the party has but 5 zombies and one monster zombie left to account for. Ulrich steps up, takes a puissant swing: the deader falls beneath his onslaught.

4 zombies left.

Because the skeletons were turned, Bruno decides to save his vial of holy water and attack one of the zombies with his short sword since now the numbers were much more manageable.

OOC:

10:45, Today: Bruno Rhunthane rolled 10 using 1d6+7.  Short Sword Damage.
