ooc: Sorry dude, I missed that one. My bad. Two minutes in the sin bin for me...

Round 3 forthcoming.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dugger studies the chest closely, It seems finely made, though not extravagant. With a twist of his wrist, he opens it successfully. Unfortunately, he feels a pinprick on his hand. Suddenly he starts screaming at the top of his voice, then convulsion sets in.

ooc: this should be interesting.

The door remains closed.

It is now round three: The combat group take your actions.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Dugger seems in terrible pain as his hand starts to go dark. The others look around, finally recalling that Bruno is a priest. Actions?

Re: Tears of Sorrow and Laughter

Bruno put his shoulder to the door and thought he felt it begin to move, but it did not. He felt the effort he had made in his shoulder and back muscles, but it was fruitless and with frustration he moves away from the door and turns back to see Dugger still attempting to open the chest.

When the halfling begins screaming and convulsing he moves back towards him and Ulrich, "I can heal him, but have nothing to help if it's either poison or disease."

OOC: Do I have any sense of what prevented me from opening the door? Is it held by magic or did I have an minus on my roll because of the strength of whatever is barring it?

Re: Tears of Sorrow and Laughter

Suddenly the door fractures, sending shards of wood flying. For a moment, everyone looks around - the grey one suddenly blinks out and reappears down the corridor running as if the hounds of hell are on his heals.

OOC: Basically, the grey one has gotten a head start and runs left and disappears around around the passage. Dugger is still screaming in pain as the others try to give him first aid.

What's the party going to do?

Re: Tears of Sorrow and Laughter

When Ulrich manages to get the door open, Bruno feels relief, but Dugger on the ground dealing with whatever poison he has ingested is enough worry that the concerned look does not leave his face.

He places his hand on the halfing's chest as he stands, "Stay with us, brother, we'll help the others and be back to you directly!"

From there he hurries into the hallway to join the fight saying as he does so, "Let's hurry and help the others, Ulrich, and hope that one of them has something than can help him once we're done."

Re: Tears of Sorrow and Laughter

Once again, I'm not really sure what's going on...but I assume whatever we were fighting outside the door (a duergar?) has now run away without us getting an attack of opportunity...right?

Door splinters, Kullonar is confused, and then he sees Dugger writhing on the floor.
From Ulrich and Bruno, he gets the gist the thief is poisoned.
Pulling his holy symbol, Kullonar invokes Cuthbert's will to slow the spread of the poison (casts Slow Poison).

Myrrick moves to intercept whatever it is that busted the door out and scared the gray dwarf away. If this was to be his time, then he would go knowing he gave his friends time to get to safety at the least.

He readied his blade and awaited the appearance of whatever it was that was coming to do harm.

"Get him up, get him somewhere and do what you can to help him." his voice grim.

Ulrich goes over to the chest in case there is an antidote in there and opens the chest, wearing gauntlets, using the tip of his dagger if he can, his sword is flaming and the contents might be a scroll or two.

Realizing that the fight was over in the hallway Bruno stops and turns back to the chest, "Yes, Duggar has been poisoned! The fight out there is over?"

OOC: I have no idea where I am, but if I'm closer to the chest, I'll open it. Otherwise, I Ulrich will get to it first.

Re: Tears of Sorrow and Laughter

If one more person tells me they don't know where they are, I'm going to shut this thing down. Are you guys telling me you can follow a square grid map? Didn't you guys use graph paper when you first delved into a dungeon?

I mean, shit. what's it going to take to get you guys situated & pointed in the right direction? You're here to kill shit, not tip toe quietly from danger. I'm going to start calling everyone Brave Sir Robin. You are all just Brave Sir Robins...

I'm going on a bender. When I get back from rehab you guys better have some organization. I'm serious. this was a great game. now it sucks.

Dugger slowly sit up, with Ulrich still looming over him.  He gave him a smile, "ahhh, you do care.  I think I'm ok now."  He looked at his hand and twiddled his fingers.  "make sure to watch the edges of that chest, got a poisoned needle"

(made his save)

He got out his trusty dagger and carefully sliced off any remaining needles. "so, lets see if it was worth all that trouble"

Re: Tears of Sorrow and Laughter

The chest does have some value - 10 gems within a velvet bag Value indeterminate

There is a potion of extra healing

And a small box with 20 platinum and 100 gold.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Suddenly the party hears drums, ostensibly a warning given by the grey dwarf. The sounds of muster echo throughout the 2nd level.

Actions?

Alright, gang. Time to look at the map. If you don't use the map that you begged me for, the party will die. Take some time and look at the damn thing. And you know those funny little squiggly marks? The are room numbers. You can use them too. I am very Kind that way. Good luck.

I was looking at the map, that is how I know the room numbers! The map doesn't say 'undead horde' on it anywhere, Was asking which room the horde was in, I think it was 12, but  am uncertain.
