"Well...I suppose that could work. What is keeping the others? The vote was to move along. Young Gregors and I are eager to cleanse this hellhole and return to the world of the living."

Kullonar is waiting at the intersection leading south, just below the door they exited from the large chamber.

OOC:  Dugger is just offing a suggestion, this shouldn't in anyway effect the groups current actions.  He is following along with the group.

Re: Tears of Sorrow and Laughter

OOC: I asked about the distance from the door because I'm curious if it seems viable to do something to learn about the army/awaken it/attack it/hold up a holy symbol/whatever then close the door before they can attack. It doesn't sound likely but similar to what Dugger is proposing.

Re: Tears of Sorrow and Laughter

Point of order: You cannot stand behind a wall or any other portal and turn undead. The holy symbol must be presented in a strong way by a paladin or a priest in order to turn undead.

OOC: If we opened the door wide enough to have one of the clerics hold their holy symbol up, how long would it take to push the door shut in a rush?

Re: Tears of Sorrow and Laughter

No - that's not the way it works. A cleric or priest must stand firm and brandish the holy symbal in the face of the offending undead. Trying to you use a wall or door as a shield of sorts smacks of cowardice. Even if the holy symbol is an actual shield, the priest would still be bound by the parameters of the turn.

Gildan: probably one or two segments, but don' be surprised if the turning attempt falters. I am going to adjudicate any turnings with a close eye.

Re: Tears of Sorrow and Laughter

OOC:  So if a cleric were to stand on a raised platform, where he couldn't be reached. He would be able to turn the undead then.    lol.

So Dugger helped make sure that he door was secured from easily being opened from the other side.  that is of course assuming that the door opens in the direction of the party.

"So where to now?"

Myrrick paused, this was not going well, or at least not traveling well. "Faster we check the rest of the doors and corridors faster we can come back and deal with those monsters, if they still stand after we finish the cause of this evil and corruption of the vale."

Bruno had begun to move towards where Kullonar stands at the intersection and when Ulrich begins to move in that direction as well he falls into his place in the marching order.

Re: Tears of Sorrow and Laughter

ooc: To all party members: When you can, please reference door and chamber numbers when making an action - for instance, the fragment 'leads the way to the next door' isn't really helpful to me. And everyone's done that, so I'm not picking any one person. If you come upon a door without a number, reference the closest numbered door to that door or passageway.

Thanks!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kullonar, curmudgeon, leads the way followed by Gregors, Ulrich and Myrrick. Bruno and the rest of the party follow suit, and the party comes together like a Beatles song (Heh!).

The party bypasses the spiral stair case going down (I assume) If I'm correct, the party is leaving areas 11 & 12 behind for the time being. Some of you eager beavers had briefly pushed toward area 13 for a moment before retreating back to area 11.

Right now, you stand in the hallway that leads to Area 13. A door stands closed before you.

Actions!

ooc: I think we are back on track.

Re: Tears of Sorrow and Laughter

Dugger finds no traps (that he can tell). The space opens up, starting with a large antechamber that runs 20x20, then branches out to 20x30. There's a 10' passage that leads to the left. There's also another closed door (that leads to room 14).

ooc I don't think I described that well, but use the map and you will have a good idea where things stand. If you don't, pm me.

Dugger comes over and has a look at the door, he motions for Ulrich to stand back a bit.
Didn't want for multiple people to get caught in a trap is a trap got sprung.

wiggling his fingers, he sets about doing his thing. "Kind of like magic" he says with a grin.
