"It seems we ought to have asked this question before departing, eh, friends? Unfortunately, Moradin only forges souls, not the wisdom that comes along with them."

Make sure you stop by and pick up Gregors. Yngvar might not be too happy if his nephew gets turned to a zombie...

Gildan shrugs and goes along. If his companions wish it so, then the gods must be speaking through them. Going and resting must be their divine wish, so he will obey.

Dugger could only shrug with the call to head back in rest up, who could argue with the wisdom of the dwarves.

"So assuming that the gong thing done gone an woke up the rest of the undead to our present,  should we rethink our tactics for our return?

Holy water will cause harm to the undead, will fire do much of the same? I can help set up some traps for them.  Seems that when they come at us there is no hesitation, perhaps we could use that to our advantage in some way.  If we had them give chase we could lure a bunch of them in to a kill box of sorts.

Say if we were to draw them into chasing us into one of the burrows that has  a entrance and exit we could have them chase after us funneling them into one end of the burrow and then sealing the other end to lock them in.  From there we could either deal with them or lock them away from causing us possible harm."

OOC: Sorry all, I think I failed to share the actual augury.

See, Seer, there was a reason I posted that last OOC question!

As they returned back to camp and Dugger brought up his suggestion Bruno begins to reply, but stops and slaps his forehead, "Wait... I did not actually tell you all what the Soul Forger told me in the augury, did I?

"I guess I really do need that rest.

"Forgive me, all, but this will answer your question, I think, Duggar. I shall try to recall exactly what was spoken unto me:

There are are still many tombs to be cleansed. For now, a rest would make sense for the weary. When you return to the vale, you should look for the tomb of Hjalmar. Seek the tomb on the southwestern slope. Beware the trap.

"From this I'd say that we should ignore the barrow we just left and its gong. Tomorrow let us start on the southwestern slope and, well, 'beware the trap'.'"

With a wry smile and nod at the halfling he continues, "It seems it's your moment to shine, Duggar!"

As Bruno told the tale of the augury, the others listened. Once done, he led the way toward Gregor's redoubt, hopeful that the young man was still alive and well.

For her part, Selene offered a wan smile and said, "I've some tricks up my sleeve, Master Halfling. Perhaps we could share secrets."

Ulrich, with Myrrick nearby, sang a hymn of praise to Pelor - both warriors offering their thanks to have survived.

Meanwhile the enigma called Gildan brooded as he studied the surrounds.

Kullonar, resigned, endured.

Upon reaching the redoubt, they found Gregors in full array, Studded leather, spear in hand. "Ill not be staying back again. It was the longest wait of my life!

"Young Dugger, if you have questions about the use of fire, I suggest you talk to lady Selene. She seems to be versed in employing it as she sees fit."

Kullonar is glad to get back and see young Gregor. "Well, you won't be waiting much longer. We had already decided to get your bloodied...or burned...or gnawed on my starving undead. Take your preference."

Kullonar finds a place to remove his armor and to sit down and sip some wine.

Dugger nodded to Kullonar words.

"Selene, I'm always open to collaboration.  What kind of tricks you got in mind.  For starters I can scout ahead and help determine what kind of trap may be awaiting us.  Figure I can spring the trap and then have a big bunch of them chasing me.  I can have them chase me to an area where you could blast them with your fireball.

You wouldn't have something that could protect me some if I were to get caught in the blast form the fire?"

Can you do one of those web things?

There is a grim determination that surrounds the party that morning as they make there way back to vale. There is little to talk about; you know your mission. Every now and again someone speaks in soft tones. It almost seems profane to break the silence. At last, the party makes for the south western portion of the vale. It is silent. Even the gorecrows see fit to embrace the solemnity of the moment. Then, suddenly, they burst into flight, finally alighting upon and around what appears to be just another tomb. As the party draws near, the crows fly further up the valley and roost in the trees that first introduced the evil birds. Suddenly silent, they watch and seem to wait for the party to do something.

OOC:
Here's are marching orders with Gregors included.

(If you disagree, comrades, now's the time to say something about it!)

Myrrick -- Ulrich
Dugger -- Bruno
Gilden -- Selena
Kullonar -- Gregors

Dugger
Ulrich
Gilden
Myrrick
Bruno
Selena
Kullonar
Gregors

Bruno wakes up feeling refreshed, but still sore from the previous day's return to the Vale. While he does feel trepidation, it feels, at least, as if they are ready to face whatever will happen this day. After his prayers he breaks his fast with everyone else who has risen and prepares for the day ahead. As he does he shares with everyone the spells he has asked Moradin for, "It seems this day you should all know how I've prepared, so that we may act even more cohesively when it comes to it."  [See The Spell Page thread for details.]

Once they leave camp and sight the crows he breaks his silence again, "So we are reminded once again of the warning received so long ago, Ware the cry of crows.

Myrrick nodded, "Marching line sounds good to me, makes good sense. Unless we're worried about ambush from behind, then perhaps I would be best suited for that position. Your preparations will come in handy Bruno."

The small elf smiles warmly at each companion, "We will cleanse this vale." his voice did not waver nor tremble. Myrrick had steeled his resolve, it was time to finish the job they'd started.
