Corrin at the Market
Corrin makes his way to the marketplace with designs of deception on his mind. The halfling strides through the crowd purposefully before finding a good spot to set up shop. An opening between a couple of Jewelry carts catches Corrin’s eye and he begins to prepare his “game of chance” for the crowds amusement.

So, let's have Corrin make a deception check to attempt to lure in some customers.

Corrin rolls a 19 using a 1d20 +5 ((14)) for deception.

"Ah, this looks like the perfect place to make some money."

Corrin has a good feeling about this spot and sets up his stand and starts calling out to passersby to lure them in to his scheme.

"Is there anyone willing to take a chance to earn some coin? Beat me in a game of chance and you will be rewarded generously!" he booms to the people around him.

In reply to Corrin Halfpint (msg # 2):

Corrin's invitation is relatively well received and a small crowd begins to gather to watch his demonstration. Out of the crowd a portly merchant steps forward with a smile.

"Well what have we here?" The merchant asks, clearly intrigued at the prospect of making coin.

Corrin looks at the merchant, and thinks he can afford to lose some money. Smiling to himself he invites the merchant to play.

"Hello good sir! Are you daring enough to challenge me to a game of chance? Guess which cup holds the ball and you shall receive double the coin you bet! Are we interested?"

In reply to Corrin Halfpint (msg # 4):

"Hoho! Well I'd wager I can win that."

The merchant places down a single gold piece with a greedy grin.

Corrin will need to make a sleight of hand check to see if he can fool the merchant or not and to see if he can fool the crowd into continuing.

In reply to Corrin Halfpint (msg # 6):

18:18, Today: Narrator, for the NPC Greedy Merchant, rolled 13 using 1d20+1.  perception.
18:19, Today: Narrator, for the NPC onlooking crowd, rolled 15 using 1d20+2.  perception.

The crowd ooohs and ahhhs at the speed of Corrin's hand movements. While the shells twist and turn the merchant watches closely in an effort to keep up. Perhaps, too closely. The merchant losses the ball amongst Corrin's furious fingers and when the shells come to a stop he looks more than a bit perplexed.

"Ah.... that one!" he points out a shell.

The crowd audibly gasps as Corrin reveals the shell the merchant chose had nothing inside.

"Blast!" The merchant exclaims, his face growing red with embarrassment as the crowd applauds.

"Double or nothing!?" he offers wildly, clearly frustrated with his loss "I'll get you yet."

Corrin gains 1 gold piece
