12:56, Today: Sara rolled 6 successes using 7d10 with the World of Darkness nWoD system with a target of 8, rerolling 10s ((10(+8),3,10(+10,10,4),7,9,7,7)).

Sara's hand swooped out in a quick, snatching manner drawing the wallet out and into her person with one, rapid movement of her wrist.

Dad raised an eyebrow.

"That's.....good." Dad said surprised. "That will work most of the time. But not all of the time. If you rely too much on speed, then sometimes you'll get caught."

"I can tell you a trick. But you've got to listen." He said, as if he was bringing out into the open that kids don't usually listen. That kids are too energetic or that Sara was too much of a kid and so listening would be hard for her unless she expressly consented to it.

Sara smirked, pleased with herself. The smirk soon vanished. It was probably going to turn boring again soon... But, a trick? She wasn't entirely convinced Dad's trick won't be something boring either, but nevertheless she was all ears. "Hmm? What is it?" she asked, probing Dad with her eyes.

"It's like this." Dad said, and he moved his hand a certain way, moving forward at the same time that he turned his hand.

"You try."

Intrigued, Sara actually paid attention. She followed Dad's hand with her eyes, then copied his motions. "Like this?" she asked with a smile.

"Very good." Sara's Dad said.

"Now, tell me about where you think you might use this?" Dad asked, probing Sara. She could tell that the question was designed to be some kind of test.

"Hmm..." Sara screwed up her face. "In a crowd on the street?"

"Maybe." Dad said coyly. "Would you use it at school?" Dad asked. Sara got the idea that this might be a trick question.

Sara frowned. Yes, but what was the trick? "I... guess it depends on what they have? Most wouldn't have anything worth taking, though," she asserted.

"Yeah." Dad said and Sara got the sense that he maybe had had enough of her. "Why don't you go ahead and go upstairs. You're mother will be home soon and I've got to talk to her."

"Go on. Go ahead and just, get ready for bed."

Sara frowned. Did she say something wrong? "Okay," she muttered, heading upstairs with the full intent on trying to listen in.

Sara got upstairs. A few moments later she could hear the door open.

Mom was home.

Sara hid just out of view, above the stairs. She stayed very quiet as she listened in.

"Hey Babe, How was work?" Sara heard his Dad say, followed by the sound of a kiss on the cheek. Sara crouched down low, silent as a mouse.

Sara kept crouching.

“I want to talk to you about Sara, I’m really worried about her. I think she’s kind of been behaving really bad. I’m really worried that she’ll get herself in trouble. Also with what’s been going on—kids disappearing, it’s crazy. I think we need to either sit her down and talk to her, or try to get her involved in something like the church or maybe sports or something. Something that will keep her focused and out of trouble.” Mom said

Sara rolled her eyes in silence. But here was the interesting part. What would Dad say?

"Listen, I'm not so sure about that." Dad said. "She's been helping me out a lot while you've been gone at work."

"Well, I'm going to take her to the doctor anyway. You know Suzy? That friend of mine? She said she knows a good psychologist that works with kids. Remember I told you how we were worried about her since the move into town? Well the psychologist knows how to deal with kids and he can talk to Sara. You know she's been doing things around the neighborhood?

Vandalism." Mom said. "One of the neighbors called the other day and said so. He saw Sara breaking things or something. He left a message on the answering machine."

Sara furrows her brow in determination. Let them try.

1) To to try to convince parents calmly not to bring her to a psychologist when the time occurs

2) To get into a verbal fight with her parents when they try to bring her to a psychologist when the time occurs
