In reply to Thompson (msg # 5):

A woman of average height enters the colonel's office. Oddly, she was dressed in PT clothes. She must have received the order to report during a workout. She had short red hair, parted from left to right, large and bright brown eyes. Her T-shirt read, "Parkour équipe equippe de la ville de Québec." On her feet were Sketchers running shoes. Her red and gold nylon track pants read, "REFMC" down one leg, and "Semper Fi" on the other side.

Bits and pieces of tattoos could be seen around her cuffs and collar, and through her sweat-drenched shirt. It was not hard to tell she was in some intense PT, based on her need for a shower.

Immediately she snapped to attention. "Lt. Genevieve Ste. Croix reporting for duty, sir." Out of uniform, and not under arms, she did not salute.

The woman took her seat when instructed and listened to the briefing. As the briefing concluded, she stood at attention and said, "Aye-Aye, sir." When dismissed, she executed an about-face and walked out into the corridor. She stretched a bit to work out cramps.

"'Allo. I guess it seems we are to be a team together." She said in lightly accented english  smiling and offering handshakes to those who would take it. "2nd. Lt. Ste. Croix, but team mates call me 'Gennie.'" She pronounced it as 'Jeanie.'

"Looks like we're all going to Tattooine together."

Sitting down at the end of the table is probably the shortest, but most powerfully built woman on the ship.  Currently scribbling down notes and sporting a huge black eye and cuts and bruises on knees and knuckles.

"Oorah, sir.  Good to hear we'll be tipping the spear."

Raising an eyebrow and giving a mild shrug over the whole 'star wars' thing she introduced herself, <Red>"Lieutenant Mangubat."</Red>

"El-Tee Gowdey. Looks like of the marines they summoned, you've got the rank. Lt. Mangubat?" she offered a hand.

"I do photorecon and optics. A real shutterbug. I'm qualified in CAS, but I'm from VMF (AW)-242. You guys and gals also aviators?" She looked at their chests looking for wings. Perplexed, she saw none but jump.

"I guess you guys think I'm joking about Tattooine. It has two suns, and little axial tilt. Zero surface water, but I was told there were some aquifers from a Horizont pilot." She pulled out her water bottle and took a generous gulp.

"Hot in the day, cold in the night. A real garden spot..." She sighed and took one more glug. "Hopefully, if we're scouts, we won't be spending a lot of time planetside."

She waited around for others to introduce themselves, responding in kind. Then, she produced her phone, typing in a couple of queries. "It says here the Bunker Hill departs in 4 hours, from the Tiresia Space Port."

A tall, skinny blond headed young lady hurries in, snapping off a salute before the orders were given. When they were through, she studied her fellow marines for a long moment, her face a mask of apparent excitement about the potential new mission.

"Oooooo," she said, "Tatooine."

She let the name roll off her tongue as if she were trying it out for the first time. When STAR WARS is mentioned, however, she looks a little confused for a long moment. Finally she whispers the question on her mind.

"Why would stars go to war?"

shaking his head at the star wars comment,

Recon Sniper and Destroid Sapper.  So far this team sounds like we have a solid recon background which is good.  Similar tactics and training.  Seems to me though we are missing a medic for a solid scout team.

I will review service jackets befor assigning team roles and fire teams.

The others could see Gennie checking out Rhea a bit. There was a sparkle in her eye. "It's um, recreational cinema. A real classic. Science fiction before the Macross landed. Sort of a space opera, really..." she said to the confused praxian. "They have fighters, and knights with light sabers and aliens. They didn't have praxians, though... And Tattooine is a fictional planet from Star Wars that had lots of dunes and rocks and two suns. It was always hot."

She took a break from ogling the Rhea, focusing on the group. "I've never heard of aviators with a ground team, except as an air liaison. Every marine is a rifleman, right? I'm cyclone qualified..."

She looked Thompson over. Was he Southern Cross? His uniform said so anyway. "So are you the ASC exchange student? Better here than the Spacy..."

She looked around and the lack of a corpsman was a little strange. Maybe one would be assigned later.

"So what's everyone drive? I'm an Alpha girl, myself, but I do cyclones, for ground ops, or, G-d forbid, if I am ever shot down."

"Cinema! Oh of course," she mumbled. Then, speaking up, she added, "Sorry I'm Destroid Pilot and a Combat Engineer, and I drive a Golem."

She smiled proudly. It was odd because she looked human. She didn't have the dark skin and hair--or the height for that matter--of a Praxian. And she was missing all of the usual alien features that would mark her as one of the other Sentinel aliens. That meant, however, that if she were human, there were some very childlike traits to this girl.

Other than assault or main defense, this type of team composition is unusual.  Im glad the team has a diverse ground and air composition.  Its very versatile.  I have been trying for years to get this model emplyed in recon ops.

I trust that we will perform well, and we will leave no man behind.  Lets make our corps proud to have us as the tip of the spear.

This was something that Rhea could seem to get behind. For all her childlike manner, she was raised by a race of warriors, and fighting and war were something she understood well.

"Hooah," she said in response to the "tip of the spear" comment. "Let's make some Invid bleed."

Gennie giggled slightly. "My friends called me Gennie since I was a kid, and my father always called me Genevieve. If you trained in Southern Cross headquarters in Monument City, chances are we could have met somewhere. I lived in MonCit for two years before the mission," and she offered a wink.

"sounds like a pretty well-balanced team, so far. We could use a corpsman, for sure, but, and other than me... This seems like a pretty good ops team. I did qualify in basic dive and parachute, so I'm 0326. Also, 4671, and of course, 7527, Recon Alpha qualified. It looks like most of us are similarly crossed trained."

(GM Note: Gemma has asked me to NPC her character temporarily. I will do so, with hopes she returns quickly to health and to the game. We're here if you need us!)

Avoiding notice until now, a young woman with true blue hair with silver streaks spoke up. "Sorry, you said you need a corpsman? I think that's supposed to be me." She spoke with a Zentraedi accent, and was smallish for a meltrandi. It indicated she might be a technical specialist among the giants.

"I'm HM3 Tanusha, STORM trained to serve on a team, and disaster rescue specialist. I use cyclones and an ambo-carrier Silverback. By no means am I a pacifist. It's good to meet all of you."

Like a true Meltran, she sized up everyone in the group. They looked like hard chargers, and talked like they had some skill. Hopefully, her services would not be requested often, but that's why she was there.

"Maybe we should get to packing."

Gennie snapped to attention. Again, not under arms, she barked, "Aye-aye sir," executed an about-face and broke out into one of the fastest sprints toward the BOQ anyone had seen. She hurdled over obstructions and climbed rails rather than taking stairways. She made it look effortless.

She took only a brief, but thorough shower; her hair easily dried with a towel, set with a comb. She dressed in her Class C uniform and a piss-cutter cover. She strapped her sidearm on her right hip, an M-30 Wolf, and double checked the contents of her armour box for her cyclone.

  1. Weapon Modular Upgrade Kit
  2. One complete suit of CVR-1(F) armour, in a dark gunship grey color.

Her deployment bag, a luxury version of a WWII Marine seabag was already packed and ready. She strapped the armour box to the top of the deployment bag, and instantly had her bug-out bag filled with her toiletries, a spare flight-suit, some novels, DVD's and magazines. She packed her running shoes into the seabag.

The young aviator decided to ratfuck her room's coffee shelf, stealing sugars, creams, coffee, tea and anything else she could grab, short of cups and the brewer itself. Base coffee beat the field shit any day.

She ran into the head in her room, stealing the toilet paper on the roll, and every spare roll she could find. Then, she grabbed the open box of tampons, having a case to last her a year in her deployment bag. Then shampoo, soap and whatever grooming supplies she could find. Garrison lavatory paper beat the four sheets in an MRE bag any day.

Sealing the items in her bag, she rang the front desk. "Hello? This is Lt. Ste. Croix. I need transportation to the bunker hill."

She made her way to the covered carport and waited for team-mates and the victor to arrive.

A moment after the dismissal was ordered, the door opens to frame another woman in marine-style fatigues, pale blonde hair framing a pretty face marred only by a scar over the left eye.

Stepping in the woman offers a quick nod to the rest of the group. "I'm sorry I'm late.. I was a bit tied up." she quickly explains, glancing to a bandaged arm with a wince.

"Lieutenant Alyssin Roberts, reporting." she adds, straightening up and flashing a smile. The woman is somewhere close to six feet, with an athletic form; her tone is relaxed with a hint of a western north-american accent.

"Lt. Roberts. You just missed the other aviator." She watched Ste. Croix run back to the BOQ and was impressed. The girl was fast. "I think she said she does alphas.

"Anyhow, it looks like I'm team corpsman. If you need that looked after, my office hours are all day. Uh, sorry, HM3 Tanusha," the petite Meltran said. "Anyhow, I should probably load up. See you at the Bunker Hill."

At the CO's order, she fell out, and with less haste and panache, walked to the BEQ, packed her bag, and called for transportation.

Answering with a salute and an "Oorah" Ashley headed off towards her quarters at a good jog.  Once there she was glad to see the room was empty of her bunkmate.  Pulling open the air vent she quickly removed the 3 and a half bottles of whiskey she had, taking the time to fill up her flask along with a quick nip, before wrapping them up and stuffing them in her seabag, the flask into a side pocket on her ruck.

Her gear was mostly ready, just needing the few things and uniforms she had out to be stowed away in the bags.  Other things such as essentials and toiletries and a few personnel items were pre-loaded.  The life of a MARSOC Marine pretty much required you to relocate at a moment's notice.  The wooden case for her .45 went into the top of her ruck.  The last thing to check was her armor, which read out as green.

Calling for transport to the flight deck, she relaxed and waited.
