The party awakens to a dreary rain filled morning.  They gather their belongings preparing for their journey into the witchwood.  Cahira keeps her hair down and accepts the rain as a refreshing cold shower to ice her nerves before they begin their investigation.  Walter does nothing to protect himself from the rain because ss the rain hits Walters flesh little wisps of steam billow off of him as if water were hitting a hot pan. It's an oddity Hobbs shared with Walter so none in the party think anything of it.  Prometheus keeps himself covered in a thick heavy cloak to try and block as much of the rain as possible while his shadow faced companion seems oblivious and does nothing to react to the rain storm.

Sintaren calls upon his connection with nature to turn into a horse but the result is anything but successful. His form is that of a weak looking miniature horse, a horse that may have trouble holding two halfling riders and definitely couldn't hold two humans.  Sintaren is unable to break the magic, temporarily stuck in this weaker form than what he originally intended. Due to this unexpected mishap the party is forced to go and buy another light horse.

The party decides they will go through the less traveled Witch Trail thinking they are more likely to run into the hidden hobgoblin camps out in the wilderness.

Random Encounter: No Encounter during the day of day 2.

Despite trudging through the rain and mud the party makes good time towards Jorr's cabin.  They don't run into any trouble along the way when The trail leads past a small cabin in a  deep forest glade. A ramshackle front porch is littered with fishing baskets and skinning frames. The cabin overlooks a dark bayou or lake, with old gray cedar-trees draped in moss rising out of the water. An old skiff is tied up on the shore nearby, and a little smoke curls from the fieldstone chimney.

Prometheus busy in deep thought continues walking towards the small cabin when he is severely startled by a danger Cahira, Walter, and Sintaren were already aware of.  Two large dogs come rushing out from under the cabin porch with long chains connected to collars tethering them.  Prometheus is so startled he jumps slips and falls forward flat in the mud.
Cahira reacts quickly grabbing Prometheus by his cloak and wrenches him backwards just as the dogs are about to get to him at the end of their chains.  The dogs are barking and snapping protective of their home.

A minute or so passes when the shutter of the cabin flies open and a gruff mans voice cries out and the dogs back off.

The cabin's door opens and a lean woodsman of indeterminate age steps onto the porch. He has a seamed, leather look to hsi face and arms, and a big curved knife sits in a sheath strapped to one high. Don't get many visitors out here. he rasps. Who're you, and what'd ya want with me?

Prometheus speaks and his voice is raspy, distant, and ghostly sounding. I am Prometheus, it is a pleasure.  Apologies our most talkative member had a mishap with his druidic magic and has been stuck in an animals shape.  Sintaren is the mule, Cahira, is the grunting warrior next to him and the other robed figure is Walter.  We were sent here by Captain Soranna she said you were the best guide we could find in the Witchwood.

I seen worg riders and trouble-markers all over, especially along Dawn Way.  As far as their stronghold they live up yonder in the Wyrmsmokes, but seems liek we got a big water party in the forest.  Maybe they come down the Old Forest road, or might be they came by the Skull Gorge.  There's also Vraath Keep nearby but rumor is its haunted.  If I had to guess my money's on the skull gorge

When Walters eyes flare up Jorr goes silent just staring blindly into Walter's eyes. Walter then somehow through the flames can hear Jorr's deepest desires.  My hatred for Goblins and my love of the outdoors

Jorr whistles for his dogs to come to him.  One he unleashes and lets go free to roam the property while the other he unleashes and calls over to him.  He then grabs his bow and sword and begins leading the others through the wilderness.  The rain continues to pour heavily throughout the day on into the evening when they arrive at a causeway.

A wide expanse of dark water has flooded the woodland in this low valley. Trees still protrude from the calm, dark waters here and there, but many large reaches seem to be little more than open pools of algae-choked water. The trill of frogs and the whine of insects fills the air. The forest leads right down to the edge of the flooded section, up to a rickety-looking causeway made of thick planks of wood lashed together with mossy rope. The wooden causeway runs for several hundred feet through the boggy patch, only a foot or so above the water

The party continues to move forward and as they move closer Up ahead you can make out the wreckage of a wagon, lying on its side and half-sunk in the flooded forest, about thirty feet from the causeway.

The party begins to investigate and slowly move across the causeway.

Discern Realities:
Sintaren: 9 - What happened here recently? = Sintaren easily notices that something or a group of somethings with great power ransacked and destroyed the half submerged wagon.  He also notices what looks like shed skins near where the wagon has sunk into the water

Prometheus: 8 - Whoís really in control here? = Prometheus notices something large, reptilian and moving under the water near the wagons wreckage.

Walter: 6 - Failure

Prometheus yells out but its too late. A massive six headed serpent bursts out of the water catching Walter right in the middle of the causeway caught completely off guard.  Three of the massive heads come bearing down on Walter, two of them with the creatures extreme reach, reach out and try to bite Prometheus and a last one snaps out trying to catch Cahira.

Walter reacts on instinct and dives away from the 3 snake heads narrowly avoiding their snapping jaws.  He then comes back up on one knee and begins calling forth massive balls of flames in his hands.  The flames pop and sizzle in the rain but despite all of the water it never seems to diminish in Walters hands.

Prometheus and his minion dive off the causeway narrowly escaping the snapping jaws of the hydra but now he finds himself face to face with the beast in the water. He tries clumsily moving in the water with his death minion to pierce the flesh of the massive beast but the Hydra reacts far too quickly grabbing Prometheus and his minion crushing their forms and swallowing them whole.  Gouts of blood drip out of the monsters mouth as Prometheus still alive is shoved down this beasts gullet into its massive stomach.

Cahira jumps off the path dodging the incoming snake head and finds herself knee deep in thick bog. She starts churning her legs, the muscles popping out of her skin as she pushes as hard as she can and slogs her way through the bog and back onto the causeway.  She then rushes the Hydra and takes a heavy swing with her claymore hammering the beast right in one of its necks but the thick scaly hide deflects the blow leaving the massive beast unscathed.

Five of the Hydras heads lash out at Cahira trying to rip to shreds this woman who smacked its tough hide just a few moments before.

Cahira deftly dodges several of the incoming hydra heads but slips on the wet bridge after the fourth head lands.  The fifth and final head attacking her comes straight down maw agape.  Cahira catches it trying to use all her brute strength to fend off the deadly maw of the massive beast. Cahira realizing this is life or death gains a surge of adrenaline fueled strength smashing the head's maw closed and pushing it away.  The massive snake head recoils and renews its attack position.

Walter dives out of the way and quickly climbs back to his feet as the central head slams down smashing a chunk out of the thin bridge that crosses the swampy river.

Prometheus being a man of science and knowledge of anatomy use his scalpel deftly.  With the additional strength of his companion they rip through the Hydra's hide bursting out the side of the creature.  Prometheus stumbles out into the water as the creature roars in pain and anger.

Prometheus continues to be stuck struggling and fighting to escape the stomach of the Hydra
Prometheus needs a defy danger Strength or Constitution to avoid being crushed and digested inside the Hydra.

Prometheus pulls out a healing potion and downs it feeling it's soothing liquid come over his entire body stitching up all of his wounds.

Cahira swings her hefty claymore back and forth landing hefty strikes into two of the creatures necks severing two of the heads. The heads fall dead into the pool. Then it recoils smacking into her with one of it's remaining three heads knocking Cahira into the pool beside the severed heads and the Hydra itself.

Walter backs up on the causeway and throws a big fireball right into the chest of the massive Hydra. The ball of flame hits the body of the Hydra and begins burning a hole in its central mass revealing a massive bloody beating heart among other slimy bloody exposed organs

Sintaren fires several lobbing arrow shots that he struggles to aim correctly without hitting his friends but finally he gets one perfect that pierces directly into the now exposed innards of the Hydra.  The hydra roars in pain but continues to fight on.

The hydra gets very still then begins to roar loudly as from inside it's body where there once were limp necks two new hydra heads burst out.

Meanwhile the three original heads dive into the water then come back up attempting to splash and disorient Cahira then snap at her exposed flesh.

Cahira falls into the beasts tight stomach and feels the sting of the beasts stomach acid.  She sees the hole created by Prometheus and she climbs her way slowly out of the beasts belly but the innards of the creature crushes Cahira snapping many buckles and denting her armor weakening its integrity

Prometheus sends his dark minion to attack the now gaping wound in the Hydra.  Meanwhile the good Doctor distracts the massive heads protecting the body.  The heads lash out to bite and the first misses but the next while missing the bite smacks into Prometheus slamming him into the side of the causeway nearly knocking Prometheus unconscious.  After recovering from the hefty blow Prometheus sees his dark follower slam it's massive scythe directly into the heart of the Hydra.  The Hydra roars in pain then begins to gargle blood and more blood and fluids pour from the now damaged heart until the giant beast crumbles to the ground dead in the pool it came from.

The party gets past the causeway and finds a place in the woods but near the road to camp and rest their wounds for the evening.  During their camp they decide to stop at Vraath Keep first before they head up to Skull Gorge Bridge.

Walter creates a roaring fire with Jorr's assistance and Sintaren sings druidic nature songs that soothes the parties wounds. Sintaren pulls out 10 gold from the parties stash of gold to pay him for the next day's travel.

The party hops upon their horses and Jorr leads them about two more miles up the trail until
Looming out of the shadowy woods ahead is a haunting sight - a ruined keep. The old castle sits on a small rocky hillock, and you can catch glimpses of a broken tower between the trees. A moss-covered stone at the side of the road you're following makrs a footpath that looks like it leads up to the keep.
