Sarah makes it back to the double doors.

The open double doors obscure the corner of the room, so those still in the hallway are unable to see into foyer's southwest corner.

"Sarah," Dame Daflin whispered, "Check out the door to our right so we have a way out.

"Ovo, keep an eye on that dragon.  If it's undead, I may be able to banish it with Avandra's Grace.

"If it's not, we run for the next door.  We don't need to wear ourselves down on creatures that can't chase us."

The dwarf nodded and whispered "Aye Dame! Yet we'll have ta face it on our way out."

Ovo then watched the corner for any movement "Those wi'out armor kin use yon statue fer cover."

To get to the eastern door, she stays as close to the southern wall as possible, hoping that makes it harder for her to be detected.

And, of course, she moves as quietly as possible.

Sarah re-renters the room, this time sticking close to the east double door, with the intent of stalking to the iron door on the east side of the foyer. As soon as she turns the corner, she notices another hideous creature, similar in appearance to the one she saw in the southwest corner, coiled in the foyer's southeast corner. Perhaps its presence startles Sarah, or perhapsher luck has just run its course.

In any event, the creature lifts its head in recognition of some life form nearby, begins to uncoil its serpentine tail, and uses its skeletal forearms to slowly pull itself toward the open double door and Sarah...

Meanwhile, atop the balconies, the two devilish statues suddenly jerk their heads backward and begin to shriek and howl...

Ovo looked to Dergan "Lad; we need ta get out in yonder room where our numbers will have ah chance. Warriors form ah half-ring outside the door!"

Ovo moved out the door and to his left. Making room so all five fighters can form a semi-circle before the door. "Me crossbow kin be used by some other that kin shoot it!" he shouted over his shoulder and readied his hand axe and shield.

While still standing outside the doorway, Dame Daflin pulled her hood back to reveal Avandra's light and chanted, "Avandra's Grace and blessed be, lend us strength to smite for thee."

OOC: Everyone except Sarah (out of range) has been Blessed by Avandra for the next hour for +1 to morale, hit, and damage.  I suggest you make a Roll and Damage link on your character sheet.

Sarah steadily -- and hastily -- retraces her steps back to the safety of her comrades.

As Ovo moves forward, Dergan moves with him, trading bow for sword in a well practiced motion. A smile spreads across his face as the enemies come into sight, broader still as they come with striking distance.  The large lanky warrior swings hard and true.

"Back to hell with you!"

Elam wasn't sure exactly what they were up against, but with the mention of more dragons, he was very happy to see Ovo and Dergan move to the front. His magic was at the ready as always, but he didn't want to use it until absolutely certain what foul beast were inside the chamber.

When the statues began to move, Elam fired a pellet from his sling. He wasn't confident it would do anything but it was better than just standing there.

Seeing Ovo and Dergan enter the foyer to establish a defensive line to the left, Laurenbeth gestures to Rogar and the two quickly form a line on the right side. As soon as the pair clears the door, they see the wyvern zombie in the southeast corner, and both move to attack as it clambers forward. Unofrtunately, neither manage to land an effective blow.

Meanwhile, Shmee and Grub retrieve missile weapons (longbow and crossbow, respectively), and take aim on the only enemies they can see from the hallway--the blue abishai. Both aim for the one in the northwest balcony, but only Grub manages to score a hit.

Murphy stays to the rear.

OOC: Grub hit a blue abishai (nw balcony) for 2 points of damage.

The zombie wyverns mindlessly lumber forward, pulling their slithering bodies into the fray with their skeletal forearms. Once in position, the hideous creatures snap their massive jaws and whip their barbed tails at the adventurers.

Ovo wards off a bite with his battle axe and then moments later gets his magic shield up in time to thwart a barbed tail attack. On the other side, Rogar is less fortunate. The zombie wyvern crushes down on the mercenary's arm with a sickening crunch, causing him to cry out in anguish. Moments later, the barbed tail lashes Rogar across the face. Rogar is stunned by the attack, but still standing.

Meanwhile, atop the balconies, the blue winged devil whisper seductive words while twirling bejeweled tridents in hynoptic patterns...

OOC: Rogar was hit for 14 points of damage. Eoni and Elam need to make Saves vs Charm Person to avoid regarding the blue abishai as a trusted friend and ally.

I did not take actions for Vaxfar last round. He can take two actions in the upcoming round.

Dame Daflin was relieved at least one of the creatures on the balconies would help them.  The dead behemoths she now saw were another matter.  Stepping forward, she held her Symbol of Avandra high with one hand and shouted, "In the name of Avandra!  Leave us be!"

Dergan nods as Ovo's axe finds its target, "Nice of you to join in my friend!" he says with good humor as the tall man again hits the monster before him.  A lessor blow than last time but a blow none the less.

Her calculation works; distracted by Laurenbeth and Rogar, the zombie fails to distinguish Sarah's movements from the other activity in the room.

Taking careful aim, Sarah strikes from behind.  She becomes visible just as her sword plunges into the monster!

As the abishai's words ring through the mage's head, he suddenly realized his mistake. Elam rushed to Grub's side when he saw him firing his crossbow at the winged creature. "No! Don't hurt the blue one! It's on our side." The warlock slammed his staff into the mercenary's crossbow in an attempt to disarm him.

Elam and Eoni find themselves seduced by the devils and are are compelled to regard them as trusted allies and confidants.

Vaxfar neutralizes one of the devils by casting a web spell over the entire northeast balcony. The blue abishai hisses in defiance while struggling to extract itself from the sticky mess.

Eoni turns her attention to the zombie wyverns and uses the power of her faith to turn one of them away. The monster engaged with Laurenbeth, Rogar, Sarah, and Vaxfar shrieks and draws backward...into an awaiting Sarah, who plunges her sword deep into the creature's neck, becoming visible in the process.

Laurenbeth and Rogar continue to struggle against the zombie wyvern, but do their part to keep the thing from advancing, until relieved of that pressure by Eoni's divine bidding.

On the other side of the defensive line, Dergan and Ovo settle into a good battle rhythm and take turns hewing into their mindless foe. The zombie wyvern attempts to bite down on Dergan's sword arm, but the fighter wards off the attack, only moments later to be struck by the creature's barbed tail. His body begins to feel sluggish as toxins enter his bloodstream...

Moments later, the other blue abishai, remembering the wound it received from Dergan, takes flight, soars down, flies over Ovo and Dergan, and lances Dergan with its jeweled trident. It's a powerful blow that penetrates through the warrior's armor, deep into flesh.

Shmee and Grub focus their missile attacks against the blue abishais perched atop the balconies. Shmee's arrow flies wide and Grub has his crossbow swacked out of his hands by Elam as he draws a bead on one of the devils.

"Hey! What gives?!" he cries out in frustration while shooting the wizard a scornful glare. Hearing Elam's explanation, his face scrunches in disbelief and comments, "Are you daft, man. Pull your head out of your ass!" while reaching down to retrieve his crossbow.

Flying above the fray, the blue abishai locks eyes with Elam...

[Private to Elam: "Do not trust any of your so called allies. They care not for you and only seek to deprive you of your destiny. Aid me and you will be richly rewarded."]

[Secret to Eoni Daflin: The abishai now covered in Vaxfar's web calls out to you from the balcony, "Friend, Help me! Your false friends seek to do me harm. Do not let them..." ]

Dergan grimaces as he's hit not by one, but two damnable monsters.  Though he immediately feels the burn of the poison, he at least has the satisfaction of joining Ovo in hitting the zombie again with a solid blow.

"It is good to fight along side you again Ovo my friend, whatever the fates have in store for us this day!!"
