Re: OOC

If the bloody apron does not fit; you must acquit!

Oh I meant asking Solomon
Should be fairly easy to extinguish all light and find out if he can see in the dark...,
If he has any wounds
If we prick him does he bleed and if so what color...

But research is good too!

Re: OOC

You haven't pricked him or doused him, but you've looked at him, and he definitely doesn't have any bite marks or injuries (apart from his Franken-stitches).

Re: OOC

Sorry Constantine, I was too slow.  If the GM is happy to allow you to do so, perhaps you can add another hour to your check since you're welcome to gain the +2 Circumstance bonus from Vadim's 'Blue Book' for the city.

Or for your next check, perhaps.

Otherwise, if anyone is planning to do a Knowledge (Local) check let me know and I'll have Vadim roll to 'Aid Another';  he's content to give some pointers but isn't likely to be leading the charge at this point in the proceedings.

Re: OOC

It looks like we have some good approaches

Mine was based on finding a place where it was obviously a pub with the noise of ongoing party
Most likely asking around people will assume a romantic rendezvous
Good looking half orc meets red head. ; )

Shouldn’t keep us from staying together or doing slightly different things
Typically I am a doer and not much a “researcher”
Although upon occasion I might throw out some ideas like mongrelman my academic follow through is crap

If that's the case I'll move the scene along in the IC thread even though nobody's officially knocked yet.

Re: OOC

Darcon heads to bed that night, and in the interest of keeping everyone active and with something to do we're breaking out the night time investigation out into its own thread and moving along in the main thread concurrently.

Anyone can post in the main thread, anyone who wants to stay up late can post in the side thread which takes place the previous night.

Because I'm assuming you'll use your time before the deposition to do investigation, talk to the beast, research or make Gather Info checks we have some time to wrap up the side-thread before the information discovered there becomes truly relevant. If it DOES become relevant in the main thread I'll resolve the side thread as quickly as possible and hand wave things along so that everything is happening at the same time.

Re: OOC

Something's fishy in the state of Denmark, I say!  The surgical tool set was sold six days after the "blood caiman eats the Beast" scenario.  So someone waited near a week to get them out to the swamp.  I could think of a number of reasons why - it took time for the Beast to recover, it took time to decide what to do, it took time to find a good enough tool set for what the person needed it for...  And for certain either someone else is involved or the tools were stolen, because the Beast isn't buying from a medical supply store or chemical factory!

Though now that we have a chemical factory in the mix I am flashing back to the Joker's origin story in 1989's Batman movie...  :-O

Re: OOC

Yeah now your on track
Not Solomon Grundy the joker....

Still tracks with faking their own death theory....
Or the surgery kit was used on the creature the camine got hold of?
Maybe a doppelgänger is on the loose and wanted to do tasks and cover both it’s own and it’s bosses tracks

Do they peel off faces to memorize them so they can do a better job at impersonation?
Do they have darkvision?

My head hurts
Chemicals?  Maybe they had Grundy locked up there trying to make more?

Re: OOC

Whoops! I've been pretty explicit about the sale dates but I guess I've been neglectful about the current date. Your timeline is a bit off.

Hora sold the tools Gozran 18, 4708.
Vladka sold the tools Desnus 1, 4708.
Radniche sold the tools Desnus 8, 4708.

The Morast Murders took place between Gozran 6 and Desnus 1, 4710.

The current date is Erastus 9th, 4711.

All of the purchases that you've been chasing took place several years before the Morast affair, whoever purchased the tools likely already had them at the time of the murders.

Re: OOC

What I was waiting for was full Monty blackmail of the guy and me being shocked/appalled....

And polite about it (possibly with a hint of chivalry/sexism)
“Ladies do not kiss and tell for a reason; such talk, it’s just mindless gossip.  You are better than this.”
Playful chiding. She was such a nice kit cat when I met her; and now under tender ministrations has become a feral alleycat caterwauling in the worst parts of the city at all hours of night...

Re: OOC

Did the good cop just step outside?  That's awkward...

Just in case there's concern, Vadim will be doing the whole, "You're lucky I don't have time for you," bit and pursue the warehouse lead.  Not intending to derail things too much by *actually* starting a fight or dragging Radniche back to the cells with a shaky premise.

But, you know, he needs to be reminded to respect the law a bit more, mm'kay?

Re: OOC

Shade's going to keep that blackmail bit in her back pocket.  Likely the guy has more going on, but right now we have little time and not a lot more evidence to prove anything.  Probably Radniche is doing something under the table for someone, but that could be anything from his business associates to his lady-love.  We can apply the leverage later if need be.

Re: OOC

There definitely seems to be something shady about Radniche, probably above and beyond his alleged affair.

Vadim, you're waving manacles in your last post so I wrote the GM post under the assumption that you're arresting Radniche. If you don't, and if you don't go so far as to actually lay hands on and cuff him, let me know here or in your next post.
