Re: Chapter 2 - The Trial of the Beast
Shade had been impressed by Galus calm and kind treatment of Solomon, and the things they had learned where intriguing indeed.
As the left the basement, she said to Galus, "Well done, Galus. Solomon has had little enough kindness, and you know how he feels. Thanks for playing music for him."
After Solomon had revealed the gap in his memory between being in the swamp and being in jail, bypassing the fire and the library break-in entirely, Shade said to the others, "If someone took control of Solomon, that is one terrible thing. But there's another possibility that fits the odd crimes for someone who wouldn't be inclined or able to set a fire or do a delicate break-in: illusion." Shade's own form blurs, taking on the form and face of a blonde farmwife, then a powerfully-built man who had the look of a soldier before going back to her own face. "I can't do much other than normal-sized folk with the magic I have, but with a more powerful spell you could hang a lot on Solomon just by someone imitating him by magic."

When they arrived at the Chymic Works, warrant in hand, Shade was grinning like a cat with the cream. While the others went to tweak the door dragon's nose, she went to go find Olver and his crew. "Anything special to know, Olver? We've come with papers to crack open these doors."
