Re: OOC
Well, it is all relative. Save for nature and life, that are cleric analogues, a favored soul is barely roughly equivalent to the wizard if a little less powerful. The extra attack and proficiencies mean the Favored Soul is meant to be in melee, a less survivable place to be with their d6s for HP. The wizard can prepare the same number of known spells, but they can change these spells, their list is less constrained -with more unique spells to choose from as opposed to 10 fixed spells that can't be changed- and they don't need the slots nor the prepared spells to provide utility. The slots a Favored soul would save by fighting in melee are needed for utility, and every time they use metamagic, they loose potential castings of spells, even dramatically. The wizard on the other hand gets to have arcane recovery that is completely separate from their other abilities.

And that series doesn't seem that appealing to me, historically nobles have been wizards and witches come from the populace, if not actually from the marginated corners of the population. n_n

Uh... well, the Stormborn looks really interesting. I'd have to make some pretty major changes to my backstory to make it work, but I'd love to use it.

Re: OOC
Ok, group 1 updated. New group will be set up soon, but for now only Lavan and Khaven are up.

Let's talk about possible scenarios for you. The idea is for you to get embroiled in the way to investigate what is happening to the world. That or to go fight a wizardlord.

Lavarian, Khaaven, so what do you prefer? To start as a group or to receive a fire baptism?

All of the others, I'm waiting for you to be ready.

I can't think of a specific way to begin as a group, so I guess a baptism by fire it is.

Hey Luther, we didn't all make combat murder-machines, and I for one have had enough of combat for a while as a player.

Re: OOC
In reply to Mis'sha (msg # 248):

While that's a fair point, Luther is following to his IC disposition. Just because you've had enough combat doesn't mean that goes for everyone; and while you didn't make a 'combat murder-machine' that doesn't mean that he should have to make his sit on the sidelines as well. There's nothing wrong with your non-combative, PC, but there's nothing wrong with his high-combative PC either.

Now, IC I think its perfectly fair if you wanted to refuse to fight, but you shouldn't bring the issue to the OOC and attempt to get someone to undo what their character just did.

We probably should have talked about aspect-focus before the game started (combat vs. social interaction vs. exploration) but we didn't. That's a discussion we can still have, with the DM's moderation, but in my opinion it has no bearing on the current situation.
