Interlude in Rotter #4

The party has at least a little down time in Rotter.  Let me know if your PCs want to do anything in town before heading back out to slaughter the innocent and rescue the evildoers.

Anthony absolutely, positively wants to write down some new magic that he's been thinking about in his spellbook.

OOC: Want to learn some 2nd level spells.

Anthony should select 2 second level spells from the PHB and update his spells known list on his character sheet.

Seline should select 1 second level spell from the PHB and update her spells known list on her character sheet.

Are we all staying at the Stinking Unicorn, or whatever that tavern was where we planned the first assault on Oswald?

You can stay wherever you would like.  Assume there is a lull in evil activities against the party for the moment.  I might play that sort of thing out in a face to face game, but I'd rather keep things moving and focus on the big stuff for a PBP.  Assume you are fully rested with all hit points, spells, and luck points restored.

Oh, and everyone picks up a hero point.

Yay for hero points! Also, hiw much time has passed since Dreya did that huge jump into the tomb with everyone! She had to wait a week to do it again, so just checking on time.

Were we given any gold to possibly use on health potions or anything?

Interlude in Rotter #4

In reply to Dreya (msg # 7):

You return from underneath the Temple of Pain the same day/night Dreya did her big jump.  If the party only rests a couple days, she will still have a solid 5 more days before she will be able to "jump" again.  The party can wait a full week, but whether it is a good idea to wait that long before heading back is a decision for the party to make.

Sadly, the party did not recover any treasure on the last foray, just lots and lots of tasty XP.  Flyspamon's Temple may give the party some healing potions, however.  The priests said assistance of some sort will be provided.  Healing potions seem like a very likely part of that assistance.

Anthony will humbly go ask the clerics of Flyspannon to share some healing potions, being an individual much worried about these things. He makes sure Dreya gets at least one.

After returning to the temple, Elwood rests, prays, and checks on the children when he can.  He requests healing potions for himself and any other party member that doesn't have any.

Interlude in Rotter #4

Jack will take a break from the adventuring group for a few hours to head out into town to meet up with his younger sister Sprite and catch up with her for a bit. He keeps the conversation light, punctuated with a few groans at hearing some of Sprite's latest antics/conquests but finished with a warning to stay away from the temple of pain and any of it's denizens like Oswald.

Anthony also asks the clerics of Flyspannon if they can "loan" him a wand, preferably a Wand of Magic Missile.

Re: Interlude in Rotter #4

Heading back to Flyspamon's Temple, you are escorted to Moira's office.  She stares at you all intently for a moment, then seems to come to a decision.

"We are deeply disturbed by the news you have brought concerning activities at the Temple of Pain.  Some of us have long suspected the Pain God is an agent of dark evil, but you have provided the first confirmation.  The Pain God's temple must be addressed and quickly.  The high priests have communed with Flyspamon itself for guidance.  We are convinced the almighty Flyspamon has chosen the six of you to rid Rotter of the Pain God's filth.  Assuming you will accept Flyspamon's will, we can provide you with considerable assistance."

Moira rings a bell on her desk.  A moment later, the door to her office opens and several clerks begin hauling in a variety of equipment and placing it on a large conference table.

Moira offers the following equipment.  Please note the weapons and armor are clearly marked with symbols and images proclaiming them as associated with Flyspamon.

Everyone is offered a potion of extra-healing.

Elwood is also offered a suit of +1 chainmail, a +1 shield, and a mace that was wielded by Margon, a cleric of Flyspamon who accomplished some impressive deeds that were not quite adequate enough for him to achieve sainthood.

Anthony is also offered a +1 cloak and 6 magical darts.  If a target is struck by one of the darts, gravity as to the target reverses itself, slamming the target into the ceiling if indoors or launching the target into the sky if outdoors.  The effects are temporary, but frightening.

Seline is also offered a +1 dagger and a suit of +1 leather armor.

Dreya is also offered a suit of +1 hide armor and a set of 4 strands of rope that are tied together in a knot at the center, so that the whole thing looks like a ball with 8 rope limbs sticking off of the center.  The mass is only a foot or so across.  If the ropes are thrown at a target, they will transform into a giant spider that will entangle and attack the target.

Cole is also offered a +1 long sword and a +1 shield.

Jack is also offered a +1 short bow and a suit of +1 chain mail.

Moira asks, "Will you accept the will of Flyspamon and purge Rotter of the evil of the Pain God's temple?"

"From what I've seen of that place and those within, this is the worst kind of evil and must be stopped forthwith. Your aid in this matter is greatly appreciated. Rest assured we will do all we can." Jack's tone is somewhat grim and muted, but his voice brims with stern conviction.

Anthony looks very pleased at the prospect of using these items. "Thank you. These will aid matters considerably," he says. "We look forward to reporting on our progress when we return."

He was privately just a little disappointed that they couldn't produce a wand--but that was an extraordinary request, really. These darts could be really tactically useful!

Seline looking over the Dagger and Leather armor with a slight smile cracking her lips accepts the gifts "Who would have known that you can get such items without having to resort to the less than legal methods just for some hardwork and life threatening danger. In this case I will gladly accept, I'm more than a little peeved with this Oswald and temple of pain people and feel the need to rip them apart."

Dreya marvels over the rope...spider...thingy.  "How neat is this? Is this only...um, how do I say it...oh yeah! Is it only once? Or does it return to this size again?" Quizzically, she glances at those around her as they all are inspecting new posessions.  "Did that make sense? And look! Hide clothes that actually match!" The druid exclaims with an excited squeal.

In reply to Dreya (msg # 23):

Moira replies, "That's a very good question.  I'm not sure.  Druidical items are not really our thing.  We just had this lying around.  I'm pretty sure the janitors were using it as a mop.  I only realized we had it when I went through our inventory list looking for something a druid might use.  My best guess is you would grab it by its back and it should revert to rope form.  Should.  Yes, well, anyway, good luck."
