"Uhm, thanks, uh, Anthony?" Elwood replies to the invisible force that helped him up.  "I have just one spell for some healing.  Do any of our companions need any aid? "

OOC I don't think Elwood is aware of Valindore's status

Anthony says, "Yes--Valindore is unconscious over there against the wall. You may want to wait to revive him--I've given him first aid."

Okay, I think this combat has reached its logical conclusion.  I'm assuming Stachys skewers Tetra Min's shark with the trident with gruesome, horrific results.

The portal worker answers Seline, "Go through the back?  Why would you want to do that?  I've never seen anyone do that."

We're out of round by round combat, but I need to know what people are doing in the very short term.  Things may be happening relatively soon and the water is quickly rising...

(Not to mention there is still one docile shark that will snap out of Dreya's calm animals spell soon.)

I guess Dreya will just try attempting to open the door again. She will add 3 luck points to her attempt!

Dreya just isn't strong enough to open the door against the press of the water.

Seline with a serious look on her face stares the fish man in the bowl "If we can't stop the flow of water the effects will leave this town as a lake if not on a much bigger scale and I'm not good at breathing underwater so I'm trying to figure out if there is anything we can do to stop this so any help you can provide will stop me from holding you accountable for any damage caused by what came through this portal:

Can Dreya dimension door herself back to where the fight was?

That should be doable.

Anthony steps out of the secret door and helps the others kill the last shark, using a couple darts to do so, winking into visibility as he does so.

He then moves toward the portal to get a better look at it to see about how to close it!

Once all the sharks are dead and the immediate danger passes, Stachys and his fancy trident makes his way upstream to the portal helping any that are stuck or down.  Perhaps it can be overloaded with the trident's energy.

OOC: Cole was running down the corridor, searching for Dreya, not sure if he ever actually sees her or has even reached the end yet, so he would keep on his current course until he came upon one of those two events.

"Gloop Loop, we really need your help shutting down this portal.  You said you want to go back to your homeland.  Can you go through the portal and try to shut it off from that side?"

Seline suggests the portal worker become helpful... or else.  The unfortunate fishman replies, "How many more ways can I say it?  I have no idea what is going on with the portal.  I don't know if a master portal worker could fix this.  I've got no idea what would happen if you try to go through the back.  Portals aren't supposed to do this!"  Water continues to shoot from the portal like a sideways geyser.  The spray extends almost to the secret door.

Anthony and Stachys gang up on the last docile shark.  It twitches to a horrible death at the end of Tetra Min's trident.  Anthony is now visible.

Cole disappears into the mist and fog as he charges west to protect Dreya.  At the same time, the druid dimension doors back to the rest of the party by the secret door.

Elwood asks Gloop Loop for help with the portal.  The friendly fish man says, "I'll give it a shot.  Are you sure Tetra Min is dead?  I am not going out there just to have him get me back in his clutches.  He'll kill me!"

Anthony and Stachys begin making their way to the portal.  Walking into the blasting water is extremely difficult.  By going slowly, they are able to make some progress without falling down.

Anthony keeps pressing on, trying to get to the portal, so he can hold on and examine it.

Stachys continues slogging through the torrent towards the portal.

OOC: Upon reaching the end, if Cole does not see Dreya, he would return to the party.

Seline looks at the portal worker her frustration showing on her face and her tone of voice looks at the portal worker "Then I suggest you take your sleeping friend and go stand in the corner and wait till we figure out what to do with this portal so we discuss what to do with you"

Dreya pops back into existance around her friends, shoving her wet mane of odd hair back from her eyes. Quickly, she counts the heads she can see.

She readies herself to help where she is needed. "Where is Sir Cole?"

Elwood speaks to Gloop Loop.  "Tetra Min is definitely dead.  You no longer need to fear him.  We need your help now in closing the portal"

Elwood helps Gloop Loop get to the portal, to see if the friendly Fishman can stop it.

Anthony and Stachys continue to push their way toward the portal.  By sliding along the walls, they are able to make forward progress.

Cole gets far enough down the corridor to see that Dreya is not waiting at the end.  The water is waist deep at the west end of the corridor as the flow from the east has nowhere to go but up and back.  Cole turns around and wades through the current to get back to the party.

Seline continues to threaten the portal worker.

Dreya materializes next to the secret door.  Looking north, she can see Elwood talking to Gloop Loop.  To the east, she can see the wizard and monk fighting against the water spray in order to reach the portal room.

Elwood persuades Gloop Loop that Tetra Min is done and can threaten him no more.  The fishman and cleric enter the corridor next to Dreya and begin to work their way east.

Back in the portal room, the much-threatened portal worker shrugs his shoulders at Seline and picks up the body of one of the dead portal workers.  He drags it behind the portal, then abruptly heaves the corpse through the back of the portal.  The body disappears with a bright flash.  The fishman says, "Huh."

Meanwhile, at the west end of the corridor, far, far away from the rest of the party, Cole fails to notice the bloody and battered Tetra Min rise from the water behind him.  The top of his bowl helmet is open and salt water sloshes out.  With a vicious sneer, Tetra Min shreds Cole's unsuspecting back with his flail for 7 points of damage.  If only the roaring water coming from the portal didn't drown out the sound of Cole's cry of pain...

Round 18-ish Situation Report:

Dreya has taken 2 point of damage.
Cole has taken 31 points of damage.
Stachys has taken 12 points of damage.
Seline has taken 5 points of damage.
Tetra Min has taken 33 points of damage.

Anthony, unaware of the danger to the rear, keeps pushing on toward the portal!

Dreya doesn't really know how to help, so she stands there, looking around a bit lost. All this water needs to be moved, but that door was too strong for her to open! Maybe she could grab a friend or too. Glancing around again, she tries to spot someone not currently in the middle of a task.

Elwood escorts Gloop Loop to the portal.  "Any ideas how to stop this?"

Stachys continues to rage against the torrent.

As the pain sears the Ranger's back, a guttural growl of abject frustration and annoyance rents the air.  Not only had this little trek been a huge colossal waste of time, now it was proving to be an unfortunate colossal waste of time!

Whipping around, Cole's brow dove in anger at seeing Tetra-Min revived, seemingly from the dead.  White-hot anger surges through Cole as memories long since buried rise to the surface of his mind.  Angrily, he stamps them down, channeling all his aggression and ire on the evil standing in front of him.  He really hated when dead things came back.  Maybe Tetra-Min was one of those undead abominations that haunted his nightmares or maybe the fish-freak had been only mostly-dead, it didn't really matter.  All that matter was killing it here and now, once and for all.  Charging forward, Cole slashes out with Vera, aiming for Tetra-Min's head.

(OOC - Cole will use a hero point to decapitate the fish monster)
