In reply to Mordun Tes (msg # 363):

Hep turns to Mordun: "Excellent flying man, I thought we were going to be shot down for sure."
tapping the commlink for Aria and Jimmi Hep says: "Hey, Looks like we will be landing soon, we have our repair work cut out for us, so if you have any mechanical ability meet me by med bay.  Also we have to check on our guests."

OOC: Mordun is a good mechanic (+7)

Mordun to Hep: "I'll help with the repairs. Let's focus on the hull inspection and fixing that jammed vent. We can worry about the landing gear at our next stop. That shouldn't affect flight"

On the comms: "Aria, Jimmi: one of you come down to assist and one of you keep a sharp eye out for visitors. We may not be the only people here and we don't know what kind of sensor coverage the Imps have of this area."

Re: Spaceport Eriadu
As Mordun barks out the last commands and the ship settles noisily on its damaged landing gear, the enormity of his situation begins to settle in. Two TIE fighters shot down, two Imperial pilots dead, a ship full of injured or dead Imperials...

Mordun lurches forward in his seat and unceremoniously vomits on the control panel. "What have we done?", he asks nobody in particular as Hep hurries down the passage for his toolkit.

Realizing that now is not the time for self-pity, he gets up,  wipes his mouth on his sleeve, steadies himself against his seat, and then quickly moves down the passage after Hep.

Re: Spaceport Eriadu
You chose the most non-dilapidated building that appeared to have an open space inside.  It appears to be an old warehouse with large bay doors, open of course, so you can fly right in.  Parts of the roof are missing, but it's intact enough to provide some overhead concealment.  Whatever used to be in here was long ago picked clean, but piles of debris from the exposed parts of the ceiling/roof and some sections of the wall lay in piles of rubble-like twisted metal and other materials.  Some large windows high on the remaining walls are also a mish-mash of broken and intact, but any remaining panes are opaque barely letting the gray light of the storm brewing outside.  Occasionally a flash off in the distance illuminates the rather post-apocalyptic setting casting eerie dancing shadows for a split-second or two, followed by a slow grumbling ominous rumble.

OOC: Apparently my first OOC reply did not go through, but I think you figured it out...  the previous description was meant to say you picked out a covered building...open space referred to the openness of the inside...

Re: Spaceport Eriadu
Jimmi still sitting behind Mordun is still gripping the hell out of the arms of his seat.  At the sight and smell of vomit, plus the noxious odor of spoiled or poorly digested colly pods that had taken residence in Mordun's stomach hits Jimmi like a transparisteel wall.  Jerking his head back his already pale face turns an odd tint of green before he too throws up, on the back of Mordun's pilot's seat and splattering in multiple directions.

*bbblllleeehhh*

OOC: Lucky, the vomit has poor accuracy...

"Yeah sure thing." Hep heads for the storage room first to get a can of bug-b-gone before going to the cargo hold to inspect and repair the interior cargo hold vents.

Ooc the vent was in the cargo hold right?

OOC:  The broken vent (yes, in the cargo hold, but will also likely require external repair) is what is preventing you from leaving this rock for the moment...

Go ahead and give me a mechanic roll...

Re: Spaceport Eriadu
Hep makes short work of the patch and repair of the vent starting from the inside.  There doesn't seem to be any more of the Sacorrian grain flies.  Hep then moves to the exterior of the ship to make repairs to the outer part of the vent.

Mordun is already outside trying to assess the damage to the hull, and especially the landing gear.  It almost seems like the ship is listing forward a bit, perhaps because of the damaged landing gear, but Mordun isn't quite sure.

OOC:  Please make a perception check roll for those outside the ship...well, both of you at this point.

07:37, Today: Hep Kresim rolled 16 using 1d20+4.  Perception Check.

Hep works quickly with the interior repairs enjoying the distraction from a brutal day and moves to exterior with his toolkit and repair materials. He is eager to get away from imperial forces and pass off their guests to someone, anyone, the rebels maybe.  On Durous he had left the corporate engineering program to pursue curiosity and adventure.  Now as an fugitive he was neck deep in curiosity and adventure but also danger and conflict with possible lethal side effects.

OOC: Should I be making a mechanics checks for the exterior repair?

10:32, Today: Mordun Tes rolled 12 using 1d20+8.  Perception Check for hull/landing gear inspection.

In case I'll need it, I also made a mechanic check:

10:33, Today: Mordun Tes rolled 11 using 1d20+7.  Mechanic Check.

Obviously, Mordun is struggling to get control of his nerves and is having a hard time focusing on the task at hand!

Re: Spaceport Eriadu
The sky is darkening quickly outside, although it's not quite dusk yet according to your chronometer.  The lightning appears to be a bit more intense and the subsequent thunder claps follow more and more shortly after the flash.

Mordun and Hep diligently work on their respective exterior sections.

Mordun is unsure of whether the damage to the landing gear is going to be an issue or not, but it certainly looks very banged up.  Might not hurt to get a second opinion from the expert.

Hep gets to work on the exterior part of the ventilation system, it's a wonder such relatively small and squishy things caused such damage.

[Secret to Hep Kresim: As you're working, you think you see something out of the corner of your eye around a rubble pile, about 30 meters away.]

[Secret to Mordun Tes: As you're trying to figure out whether the landing gear can even be fixed, you catch the glimpse of a shadow out of the corner of our eye.]

OOC:  Yes, you can take 20, but it will take a little while longer, although you did already roll.  Let me know which method you want to use.

And as noted in the OOC thread, IC (In-Character) neither of you has communicated with each other about noticing anything...

OOC: So if I was working towards the back (if I remember correctly) of the ship when I stopped to cover Mordun, do I have cover from the back of the ship towards the rubble pile?  Or am I exposed?
