The Basement

Tump pockets the flimsies that look relevant to the droid parts or important to the mission and continues a systematic search of the offices. First checking doors for traps and security countermeasures followed by a careful search of the rooms. Intermittently, he will check comms to keep Inarra updated.

Let me know how many check-ins she fails to respond to. Any more than 3, assuming he checks in every other room, he may divert from his search.

The rest of the offices are easy to access with the ID card, but contain nothing new in the way of information or gear.

Inarra has not checked in even once.

A rising concern starts to mount as Tump's comms checks continue to fail. He circles back to the entrance and looks for signs of Inarra's passage. While heading back, he makes note of any other points of exit further into the factory.

At the end of the very long hall is a set of two-story double doors.  They are powered and so inoperable.

Circling back, you find the second room Inarra entered.  The room is surrounded by an anti-noise field, which is unfortunate because there is a huge hole in the ground where the floor recently collapsed.

The Basement

Tump's eyes widen with the realization that Inarra might have fallen into the giant hole. He looks for clues around the cave in. Are there any footprints in the dust leading away from or out of the room? Does the collapse appear to be recent? Using a light source, how far down does the hole seem to go?

There are only footprints into to the room that end where the floor does.  Shining a light down into the hole it only goes down one floor with a pile of debris directly below.  There are no visible footprints moving away from the debris, but no sign of Inarra either.  Apparently too much time has passed since the dust in the room resettled, covering her tracks.

Provided there were no tracks from Inarra leading back out of this room, Tump deduces that she could have only gone down. He slides his visor down, engages thermal mode, and scans for any heat signatures before heading down himself.

The Basement

Tump lowers himself by grapple into the room below.  It looks like some kind of old storage closet.  The door out leads into some kind of long observation chamber with stadium seating.  The closet is in the back at the top of the stadium.  The observation windows below are huge, going from floor to ceiling about a span of thirty meters.  The windows are all covered in grime and what appears to be carbon scoring from large blaster fire.

There are several doors along the same wall as the closet, which is in the far corner.  If Tump has his direction sense correct, the door is in the Southeast corner of the stadium facing away from the entrance hall above.  In other words, the stadium does not run under the main hallway Tump had been exploring.  The other doors along the wall are all different.  Some are double doors on simple swivels, perhaps leading to some kind of kitchen.  Other doors may lead to private meeting rooms, or possibly exits.  These are all located under the main hallway above.  However, judging by what Tump saw coming down into the hole, the noise reduction in the floor and in the active field would keep anyone traveling that hallway from ever knowing.

The stadium also curves around gradually, but Tump is still able to see the far side.  There is a door in the North wall in the far west corner.  It looks like some kind of security door, but this is the inside.  All the security measures would be on the other side.  The door is the only other one open.

The Basement

Tump spies the open door in the far northwest corner. His gut tells him that might be the most likely path Inarra could have taken. On his way down, he takes a peek in the double swinging doors to discover that it is indeed a kitchen. Although there are multiple exits from that room, he maintains his focus on the door on the other side of the stadium.

He makes his way down the stairs and slinks up to the open door. With his back against the frame, he peeks his head around the corner.

The Basement

In the darkness of the room beyond it is difficult to see much.  It looks like some kind of operations room.  Inarra's body lies on the floor not far from the door.  You cannot see the blaster she had been using, nor the focused light emitter.  After a few moments of waiting, there is nothing to hear other than Inarra breathing.

Tump switches his visor over to thermal mode and steps back inside. Other than Inarra, no signatures. Cautiously, he walks over to her body looking to see if she had accidentally set off a trap.

Take 20 to search for traps. 28.

Tump was apparently more cautious than Inarra at this point.  Taking it slow, he sees a passive thermal sensor above the door.  It's small and hard to see, but it's there.  He does not see anything that it might be connected to, but the tiles in the room are all alternating colors.  It is possible that the floor itself is the trap.

The trap, looking fairly complicated, makes Tump a little uneasy. Instead of trying to bypass it in order to get to Inarra, he decides to bring Inarra to him.

He pulls out his utility weapon, grappling hook still attached, and lobs it just beyond Inarra. Using it in a winch-like fashion, he reels it in, attempting to drag her back out of the room.

Inarra groans and tries to sit up.  With a little help, she is able to get to her feet.  "I'm alright, I suppose.  I...I got a little excited about this place and forgot to check the floor.  It didn't have pressure plates, but there is some kind of sensory surface in there that can also send an electric feedback into intruders.  Knocked me right out."  Inarra rubs the back of her neck.  "Question is, what's power it?  This whole building hasn't had power running to it for centuries."

"That's a good question. I noticed a thermal sensor right above the door, that must have been what tripped it, but I didn't see any wires or power sources. Could be the same thing powering that sentry we saw earlier with a backup generator. If that thermal device was using something similar, it could have powered up the generator for the trap in the floor."

Tump holds up his fancy new ID card. "Found this. It got me into a few doors that might have otherwise been trapped, thanks to Jek Kelshu. Just aa bunch of empty offices without much useful intel other than a strange droid schematic."

He stands up and moves over to the door. "Maybe this ID card can deactivate the floor."

"Worth a shot."  Inarra shows Tump the slot for the card.  Whatever latent power system is operating the doors still functions down here.  The display turns blue and a faint hum rises in the next room then goes silent.

The Basement

The room itself is not the most interesting part, though it certainly has a history.  There are multiple control panels, microphones, and other means of observing and recording.  However, it's what they were recording that is most interesting.  There are flimsi sketches here of some advanced droids, powerful war machines it looks like.  Judging by the notes, though it's archaic Corellian, they were smart, too.

The grime and carbon scoring covers these windows as well, but knowing what they were looking down into now sends all kinds of mixed feelings up the relic hunters' spines.  Exhilaration at finding what they were looking for, determination to continue with this mission, and not a little bit of fear.  With the power source indeterminate, one or more of those killer machines might still be functional.

There is another door - a very thick, well-locked door - on the North wall in the Northwest corner of the room.

All the data at their finger tips looks promising. Something Irin would seriously geek out over. "Looks like we hit pay dirt, eh?"

Tump starts looking over the video archives in reverse chronological order. "Let's see if we can find out what we're dealing with here." He fiddles with the equipment for a while trying to get them to boot up, but fails to get enough power flowing through them to produce anything useful.

"You know, a generator or two from that first stop might just do the trick. We should call it in and see if they can bring one over."
