The phrase "outlaw" causes Django to pause in his tracks for a moment. It's long been registered with him that life as he knew it had ended, but to technically be on the "wrong" side of the laws he fought to uphold for years has an odd feeling to it.

"Sure thing..". He follows Tump.

The Basement

Tump, Django, and R10-AC hop in the transport and zoom off toward the first location that shows promise.  It's a massive warehouse-sized building that held bazaars, conferences, and the like back a thousand years go.  According to the information Irin added to the location file, the last known event was some kind of high-tech computer show that was interrupted by the rise of the Star Gods.  There may be promising tech there.

There is also no telling what kind of hostile inventions remain that have been down here with degrading hardware and too much firepower.

The front door of the dome is enormous, wide enough for smaller vehicles like the transport to fit through to bring in displays and inventions.  Unfortunately it appears locked and the doors are made of reinforced quadnium steel.

The Basement

The doors are locked by an insurmountable pile of debris that has fallen from above or collected over the centuries.  It even appears as some mid-sized animal made its nest here at one time.

A sustained search of the area finally reveals a large crack in the seam of the building where it meets the ground.  The crack reveals about five centimeters of the ground floor, but opens up more into some kind of basement area.  Water and other natural invaders have made the basement a veritable swampland completely overgrown by plants, detritus, and who knows what kind of animals.

There are no continuous cracks, but this building has taken some damage over the centuries.  It looks stable enough for the moment, but it would not be wise to stress the structure with any significant force.

He pulls out his lantern and lights it, handing it to Tump to pass to him once he's inside the crack. He draws his energy pistol as well, and starts to climb through the opening.

The Basement

The matter decided, the two men move down into the swampy basement.  The air is damp and filled with the musk of underground vegetation, mostly fungi and lichen.  Focused beams reveal dark blacks, reds, and most any color save green.  Thankfully, the water is only ankle deep for the most part.

It does not take long for the two to hear the splash of something sizable.  It is difficult to determine the exact size because of the maze of stonework and dampening effect the water and growth, but it feels to be something roughly human sized.

[Listen DC 13 - Success for both taking 10.]

Fifty meters up ahead there is a turbolift shaft or something like it.

As the two move toward the shaft, whatever is lurking in the darkness notices and starts to splash after them.  It's still too far to see in the darkness, but it's getting closer more rapidly than the walking pace the two men are currently at.  It will catch them if there is no change.

The turbolift tube might also be problematic as well.  If it's not working, then whoever climbs last may end up facing the critter alone.

The Basement

The gel does its job as a large animal covered in scaly armor, its head full of teeth, comes racing out of the dark.  It lands in the expanding pool and almost falls chin first into the stuff.  Only a strong tail and powerful forelegs prevent it.

As soon as the thing realizes its predicament it raises its head into the air and begins to hoot.

The Basement

The hooting doesn't seem to be calling much of anything as the two men back toward the turbolift.  However, something causes the hair on the back of Django's neck to rise and he ducks forward and rolls just before a long tentacle swipes at him from the turbo lift.

Several more lower out of the tube seeking a meal.  Tump and Django move away, but the creature trapped in the gel cannot.  It's hoots turn into squeals of terror as the tentacles move toward it.  They wrap around the creature and pull.  The gel holds the creature fast and the squeals become even more desperate.  There is eventually a popping and tearing sound as the tentacles remove the creature from its prison but leave behind the feet at the ankles.  A squishing and cracking sound ends the screaming as the creature is compressed enough to be pulled up into the tube.

All is silent for about five seconds before more sloshing can be heard in the water from several directions.  The sound is too numerous and overlapping to get an accurate count, but definitely more than five.
