Endings and Begginings Part 1
Doc Cronos walked through the massive doors of the hangar. He wasn’t sure why but he found the echoes of his footsteps slightly unnerving. There was a time when he’d sworn he would never set foot here again. But that was… well a long time ago. He may have had his issues with the Alliance, but he had never wanted anything like this. It’d been almost two years now since they’d disappeared and… he sighed. He been positive they’d turn back up, they always had in the past. But this long….

He’d never wanted this. When they’d contacted him he’d said “NO” in no uncertain terms, but as more time passed… the world needed a Justice Alliance or at least something like it. And it looked like it was up to him too…

“Caught up in the inner monologue Nate?” He stopped his musings and turned to look at the voice behind him. He grinned sheepishly. “Guess so Sally.” He reached his hand out to The Mystic, the only other surviving member of the Justice Alliance.

The handshake was warm, but brisk. They’d been teammates for years, but only that. Their abilities forced them to take a … longer view. “I didn’t think you’d get involved with this again Nate. After the last time…” She trailed off as memories flooded back to them both. He shook his head refusing to go down that path… again. “It's the past Sally. This is more… important. Besides if we don’t do it Michael’s attorneys will set it up as some reality show or something.” She chuckled as they exited the hanger and entered the base proper. “So… you and I are going to recruit a new Justice Alliance?” He paused and thought for a moment. “I don’t think putting together a new team and slapping the Justice Alliance name on it is the best idea. I think whomever we choose deserves to have their own identity.” She chuckled and led him into the base’s Monitor Room. “Own identity and none of the baggage, perhaps?” he nodded as he took a seat behind a monitor and quickly typed in his password. “That is very true Sally, Very, very true. No let's get to work shall we?”

Endings and Begginings Part 1
The young woman flew low over the city before descending and alighting in Time's Square.

The pretty blonde hovered over the crowd before gently touching down. Her bright eyes were wide with wonder and awe as she took in all the lights and sounds.

There already were several costumed 'heroes' posing for photos with the tourists. Unlike those heroes, the girl did not charge for selfies. Also unlike the others posing for pictures, she actually had super powers.

Although new on the seen, she was quickly developing a reputation as the high flying Star Sentinel or more simply, 'Star'. Popular with the younger generation, she embodied the optimism and eagerness of youth.

She took the time to mingle with the crowd. Smiling, shaking hands, sharing hugs and posing for pictures. However that was not her main reason for being here.

It was a critic message she had received. Someone requesting a meeting. It might have been another reporter. She already had granted a couple interviews to some teen magazines. But something about the message gave her the feeling that this was more important than questions about her dating life or her views on fashion.

She was all cheerful smiles as she met with her fans, yet remained alert for her contact to appear.

Endings and Begginings Part 1
Wind Chill was being buffeted by the storm but his ability to control air was giving him a little pocket of clam that allowed him to fly out over the sea.

He'd heard a distress call come in some town minutes earlier, a fishing boat caught up in a raging storm that was threatening to sink it. The coast guard had tried to launch a boar and a helicopter but the weather was just too wild to allow them out to sea.

So here was the machine created by man to keep man safe cutting through the tops of the waves as he skimmed the sea looking for the boat.

Eventually as one of the waves dipped he spotted a flare and homed in on it. alighting on the fore deck of the fishing boat he enquired to them fishermen's condition. Satisfied all were relatively unharmed he took off once more and hovering above the back of the boat spread his arms wide.

His mind called to the air around him and it responded little by little the heavy boat turned into the wind and started a slow progress back towards shore. Wind Chill's powers directing the air to push the boat through the torrent waves and wind.

Finally as they reached to harbour mouth they found calmer waters and the boat moved easily towards the dock. once safely mored Wind Chill settled onto the quay and made sure the men were ok before noticing a dark figure standing just out of the light new some packing crates.

It could easily be a trap after all his maker was still after him but whatever it was there were too many innocent people about for him to simply walk away so he headed towards the shadows to confront the person watching him

Endings and Begginings Part 1
Savros soared over the university.  In her hawk form, she circled the humans below and remained on sentry duty.  There'd been a slew of personal assaults on the female of the species by rogue male elements.  Savros was determined to put an end to it.

As career military, Savros had been destined by her class elements not to attend university on her planet.  That was not for her, or her pod mates.  She had thought she'd put that desire behind her, but spending time as a human female university student in the evening hours (when the assaults had occurred), she'd begun to enjoy herself.

If the armada--for whatever reason--had forsaken her, or been destroyed, and she was to live out her days on this planet, she would create her own duty to fulfill.

Endings and Begginings Part 1
Nalaia threw her bag dropped her bag as she entered her apartment, frustration and anger etched into her face. "EEERRGGGHHH!!!! That bastard got off!!!" She shouted angrily as she kicked off the high heeled shoes she'd worn court that day still seething from the defeat she suffered today at the hands of Michael Buckingham, the super expensive, super-sleazy defense attorney the mega rich and privileged frat boy's parents had purchased to get him off the rape charge. "Can you believe it?!" She growled staring into the mirror, outrage burning in her eyes as she addressed the spirit who dwelled within her as she tossed her suit jacket onto a chair. Oddly, she felt no matching indignation from Erinys, which gave her pause. Then she remembered, her 'partner' came from a different time and place then her and her moral compass and Nalaia's didn't point to the same 'north'. A single word percolated up through her psyche, 'Zeus'.

"Ok, I get it, Father Thunderer was famous for taking his pleasure where he wanted to... but... this is different, this is wrong," Nalaia muttered to herself as she stalked into her bedroom. As she opened the hidden panel in her built in closet she sensed Erinys' compassionate confusion while the lawyer's mind played through what she knew of Erinys' code of honor to see if there's some way she could get the spirit of Justice on her side. As she slipped out of her work cloths and into her stalker of the night gear. "Fine! Stay out of it then. For now, anyway. I'll prove to you that he lied in court, then you'll be able to deal with him for the crime of perjury, no?" She spat out to her 'partner' after applying the last of what had become her signature makeup. She reached for her gear and then opened the french doors that lead out onto her balcony, then reached out to the Loom of Fate to provide her a skein of life-thread to swing out into the night by.

A bright light in the corner of her vision caught Star Sentinel’s attention. She turned just in time to see a door appear in a formerly blank wall. The door opened and a man, tall wearing a faded overcoat and aviator goggles walked out. He looked over at Star Sentinel and waved and nodded to a place away from the crowd.

He was met half way by the dark figure. Though as the figure came into the light he saw it was a woman, wearing long flowing robes, he hair pulled back into a ponytail. She appeared young, maybe early twenties, but as he approached he saw her eyes. They were filled with ancient knowledge and power. They were not the eyes of a young woman. She stopped several feet from him and offered a warm smile. "Greeting's. I am known as the Mystic. I have come to you with an offer..."

He was dressed in a long overcoat a pair of aviator goggles hung around his neck. "My name is Doc Cronos. I have an oppertunity you might... enjoy." He held a small business card out to her...

Nalaia stepped onto the balcony ready to leap into the night and away from the horrible day she'd had. She felt the speaker behind her just before she spoke and managed to turn quickly ready for anything...

"Nalaia Ibarra, your cause and your anger are just. But I counsel a bit of restraint. " The speaker was woman, very young, dressed in long emerald robes. Her hair pulled back into a pony tail. Her eyes though... they were not young. They were dark and dangerous. "I am known as The Mystic. I have an offer for you. One that given your current crisis, you may wish to give great consideration too."

Of ALL the things Nalaia expected to encounter on her balcony, a robed woman with too wise eyes was NOT one of them. Were it not for her preternatural sense for danger giving her no warning of either the woman's presence or evil intent, Nalaia might have adopted a combat stance and prepared to fight for her life. Instead, she brought her hands down to her side and leaned against the balcony's railing to allow herself a better view of her nocturnal companion. "Do tell... Mystic," she as with a wary welcome to her visitor. Then she cocks a thumb at the french doors she just came through. "Is this a conversation to be had elsewhere or shall we?" She asks, inviting the other woman into her home. "I would like to know why you council caution and what you're offering in a more cozy setting, if that's alright with you," she says with a slightly mischievous smile on her face.

BA-KOW!

The cyborg super-criminal known on the street as "Crankshaft" burst through a brick wall, landing in a frazzled heap in the basketball court used by most of 107th Street. A slender woman poked her head through the hole. "Have you had enough yet, Crank, or do you wanna come at me with more nonsense?" Bombast flashed the "No-Nonsense" grin that the street-level "Black Masks" dreaded.

Tamara Dubois, the telekinetic powerhouse called "Bombast", turned heads, but hardly looked threatening. A statuesque 5'10", Tamara looked more like a runway model or dancer. The pretty African-American woman didn't  look like someone who could hoist a tank overhead. New enemies often underestimated her because of the slender build and easy smile. Crankshaft realized his mistake as he reeled from the beatdown.

"You owe LaShawn Davenport  $12,349 in overdue child support. I know you've got the money, your boys at Island Breeze dropped the dime on you. Now, either you pay up now, or I get really cranky.".

Savros scowled.  "What do you presume to know about me?" Human, she finished in her mind.

Regardless, she accepted the card and studied it.  If he was of enemy intent, she could transform into a lethal predator in the blink of an eye.

In reply to GM (msg # 7):

Wind Chill cocked his head to one side as he looked at the woman before him, he sensed power within her but it was not at this time directed towards him "Mystic ! yes I have heard of a human by that name. Mystic the name designated to one they address as  a hero." it was a statement rather than a question and it was as if he was talking out loud to himself than to the woman before him.

After a moment of computing " Human designated Mystic how may I be of assistance?"

Being a popular media star had Its drawbacks. Although she loved the support her fans gave her, it also made getting some privacy more difficult. Some heroes lurked in the shadows. Star shined too brightly.

She worked her way through the crowd, shaking hands and thanking the people who idolized her.

Finally she turned floated a few feet above the crowd. "Thank you all for your overwhelming show of support. I wish I had time to meet with all of you, but unfortunately, duty calls. Please allow me a few moments to meet with this gentleman. If there is time, I hope to come back afterwards and have time for more pictures!"

She joined the goggled man and led them to a small cafe down a side street. Sitting at an outside table, she rested her chin in the palms of her hands and gazed up at him with bright blue eyes.

"Hi!" she said cheerfully. "Are you the person who wanted to see me? How can I help you?"

" I can feel your... anger. Your frustaration." She glides through the doors before turning to face Nalaia. "But you are free to do as you choose. As for my offer, are you familiar with the Justice Alliance?"

Re: Endings and Begginings Part 1
In reply to GM (msg # 15):

"I just don't want a nosey neighbor with a cellphone to snap a pic of us both hanging out on my balcony," Nalaia explained as she entered her home after Mystic did. She chuckled as Mystic pegged what was going on between her and her 'roommate' and said, "we are all creatures of our time. Sometimes that leads to situations that require more finesse then they should."

At hearing Mystic's question, Nalaia blinked a lot. "Who hasn't? Forgive me for asking, why?" She said, posing the question in a gently incredulous tone. She looked Mystic up and down trying to ascertain why she was here visiting her this night of nights.
