Out of Character (OOC)
Everyone has now been added to the game. Feel free to talk here.

On the top left is your "Character Details". When you get a chance, go their and pick your character picture. You will also see you blank character sheet. As we work on your characters, we can slowly enter the info.

Looking forward to the game!

Chronos Shadowood:
In reply to The Narrator (msg # 21):

ooc: how do we do stuff?

10:29, Today: Chronos Shadowood rolled 8 using 1d20.  Shooting a squirrel for rations.

Hi guys. Ok so using chris' post as an example. If you want to forage for some food, you where on the right track. Rolled your 1d20 and got an 8, then add your survival skill to it, which for chronos is +7. So you rolled a combined score of 15 for survival skill to forage/hunt.

Skill checks like this are great while we game, all I ask is that you put a bit of context for the roll. In this case, maybe something like chronos forgot to have breakfast that morning and didnt want to hit into his jerkey yet. Or that he was out of meat for his dog, so he went off the path to hunt. (Speaking of, noone gas met the dog yet, and since there is also a lynx, there could be some interparty conflict negotiations there.)

By stating it like this,  it give everyone else the opportunity to do something in response. Maybe Cano wants to go hunting as well? Maybe azazel has some smug comment for the "barnarians" messing with his elven sensability.

If we were around a table, just doing a roll would be fine. On text based, we are going to write a story together. Stories arent just about what the heros physically do, but have more details about their general surroundings, thoughts,  feelings, etc.

Hope that all made sense. Let me know if there are any questions.

Just to add a few final thoughts. With most of you new to the game,  rather than guess at what to roll, tell me what you are attempting to do. I can then give you the exact rolls that you need to make for whatever you are trying to do.

Out of Character (OOC)
New post is up. Sorry it has taken me so long to get this up. work has been kicking my ass. hope everyone has been doing well.

Moving forward, I'm thinking we don't use private text for game play. That way we all know and enjoy the story as it unfolds:)  feel free to do private lines for combat planning, asking me questions, or the like though.

@Cano, please repost your request to Chronos. let's try to keep the story line in order.

@Chronos & Myo, you are being, or about to be, interacted with by the other players. please get a post up soonish if possible.

I kinda wanted my intimidate check to fail so I could dome this guy. But he wimped out and dropped his sword so I'd feel guilty if I shot him in the face.

At least, with Dan rolling like a little bitch, hopefully someone will get to fight!

James,I moved your IC post.

If we can, if a post is 100% OOC, try to put it in this thread. it will keep the game from getting to cluttered.

Out of Character (OOC)
For some clarity (in the future), if some kind of check is requested, such as perception check or a will save, for example, please roll and just say what you might be doing in that one instance or a minor action (roll & 1 standard action or move action)

We can roll with it (hah) this time, but casting multiple spells in a row might not be possible when a check happens. (such as a trap or someone sneaking up on you mwahahah)

to build off this, someone else might have a spell or thing they might want to do in tandem. Don't want anyone taking to much of the spot light (ex. mage casts a daze spell followed by a fireball, but the sneak was going to stealth behind the dazed guy. now the mage did a big thing and Sneak is stuck as 3rd wheel)

thanks guys:)

Arne Ingolfson:
Do I need to do a roll for Intimidation as well since I am charging the dogs?

Dan brings up a good question. Unless otherwise noted with a spell or special ability, using a skill or an attack count as a standard action. In Arne's case here, since he is choosing to attack, he cannot also try to intimidate the dogs.

So this should have 2 rolls or 3? Dan had 2: initiative and damage.

Don't we need: initiative (to see who goes when), attach roll (to see if we hit), and damage roll (to see how much damage we do)?  Or are the attached roll and the initiative the same?

3 rolls is correct. Initiative, attack, and damage.

Dan, charging makes your attack accuracy better, so you have a +2 On that, not the damage itself. Check under Atk on your character sheet for the number.

Initiative rolls a 1d20 + dex mod + misc (as noted at the top section of character sheet)
Attack accuracy aka attack bonus is the first # next to a weapons name on your sheet. It would be 1d20 + attack bonus
Attack damage aka dmg is the second number next to a weapons name. The dice type would be different for each weapon bit they all have STR mod added to the (+1.5 STR with a two handed weapon and .5 STR for an offhand weapon if fighting with two weapons)

Let me know if that clears everything up!
