Magnus Meanderings, Ta'Verin Chronicles by Glantri

Previous post. Go ahead and chang the name of the thread if you want to.

Magnus:
"I think I will go back to sleep. Hopefully I'll feel better in the morning. Good Night Grant."

I'll head back to bed. and see if I feel better in the morning. If I get up properly I'll talk to Master Flinn.

Assuming he hasn't given me any more. Then it would be very strange to be knocked out this long. So what is the cause? Is it the channelers sickness? Or is Fate messing with me so that I don't do something?

Since I am going to sleep.I'll go ahead and relax and take my time building up a focus. I'm going to try to look at what the other Ta'verin are doing before I go to sleep. Taking it slow and steady to reduce the risks.

As you drift to sleep you allow your focus to align itself to the other Ta'Verin. You end up with a nauseating feeling at first as your mind shifts back and forth. After several confusing moments, you realize the problem in that trying to focus on the three of them is pulling your vision in different places. The resulting cascade of blurring colors and backdrops aren't intelligible to your eyes.

Assuming you're willing to put off a little sleep and take the time to try to separate the visions out, you realize that Matt is no longer traveling with Rand and Perrin. You get the sense of a distance when you shift your thoughts from focusing on Rand/Perrin to Matt, not a good enough sense to estimate how far apart they are, however.

Your vision of Rand has him in a valley bordered on all sided by white-topped mountains. There are several borderlander tents set up in a tidy order. Three tents stand separate, and you can tell Rand's is one of them. You also notice the Dragon banner raised in the center of camp.

Perrin is with Rand and has his tent set up with the others, but on the perimeter closest to Rand's tent. He is talking with a woman you have not seen before. She has raven black hair and a fierce light in her eyes. She seems to be arguing with Perrin though you can't hear any of the words.

Meanwhile, Mat is riding in a cart. You get the sense of pain and anguish just focusing on Mat, and notice that he is largely resting and lying limp. You notice that Verin appears to be tending to him, riding in the cart by his side. Nynaeve, Egwene, and Elayne all check in periodically as well. They all seem in good health, though with your vision being based on Mat, there are only brief snippets of each of them.

With the scrying done, and fatigue hitting you fast after it, you finish drifting to sleep.

You wake up the next day, still somewhat unsteady on your feet, but feeling more agile than the previous day. You think you could likely practice the sword and not make a fool of yourself, but you don't think you would best anyone in a sparring match despite your significant skill advantage.

When you leave your tent in the morning, you see Master Flinn walking over towards you. He smiles and says, "I was told ye rose in the middle of the night. I'm glad to see your standing again. Tell me son, how do you feel? Any strange aches or lingering effects...?"

OOC) Sorry for the delay, the longer posts are just much easier from my computer, and I have been too busy recently to find much time where I'm at my computer and have the energy.

OOC: No Problem man. Real life takes precedent.

Would you want me to use color for my speech? or do you want it to remain like it is?

Yeah, I would change to only focusing on one.

I'll reply to Master Flint
"I feel like the brew you gave me is still slowing me down and making my clumsy. Which is odd since you gave me it a week ago. What did you give me?"

OOC: I find the colored speech very helpful, but will probably not do it myself when posting from my phone. I'll try to remember to do so when posting on my computer though. Is there a guideline we have for what is speech, thought and ooc?

Flinn replies, "It was a mixture I use frequently for particularly bad injuries. It's several herbs blended for a combination of pain relief, light sedative, and increased recovery speed. I'm honestly at a loss for what would have caused such a strong and protracted recovery, unless you were more deeply injured than I believed at the time. One of the benefits of the mixtures is that it seems to be more potent for a tired body. You can take the same mixture for a mild headache or severe burns. Taken for a headache you get a little drowsy but can operate well enough. Taken for severe burns you have trouble staying awake, but the pain is removed and recovery times are significantly reduced. But it still requires administering further doses at least every other day even for the worst wounds I've seen...."

He looks curious from an academic perspective, and incredibly confused by the situation.

OOC: We generally agree that Orange is a good color for OOC stuff. I generally render thoughts as italics. And the Color of speech for your character is up to you. As long as your consistent with which color you use for which character.

"I see. I might have been more injured that I appeared. Did you give me more of that mixture since that first dose?"

OOC: That works for me.

"None, the only thing we've been having you drink is a light tea to keep you hydrated. We had been discussing what to do about finding a way to feed you if you stayed under for too much longer. Speaking of which, we should get some breakfast in you."

And he gestures you to walk with him as he heads back to the central campfire. He doesn't move terribly fast though because of his limp, so you have a few minutes to ask further questions if you want, while out of earshot of the others.
