It was certainly the first time I've ever rolled that poorly. But I think Two-bit has been having serious trouble with the dice roller for the past three turns or so.


Started off with 2 FP, now down to zero due to plasma overheats AND I've managed to roll juust over my TN the last two rounds.  So yeah, I've got luck on my side, it's just the bad kind :P

I'll take it though, as long as it keeps me alive and Ramirez keeps dishin' out the hurt with his rolls

Well the times I roll low and succeed on my attacks I do less damage than the combined toughness+armour so I know for me it feels depressing at times to finally get a good roll and then...it come to nothing.  But I'm a medic...I'm not supposed to do a lot of damage.

Yeah but pausing to get that out of my pack while a Tyranid is trying to eat me?

I just need to work my weapon mods and shift it to a pistol grip and saw off the barrel and lighten the thing till it's barely larger than a hack shotgun with a drum.

Ramirez, not sure if you're going to be able to respond before I make my post...do the Horms have to make pinning tests even if they dodge the shots you took? My initial gut reaction is to say no, but I don't know the particulars of the wording for your talent.

Ok...well two of them died and the other missed its target anyway, and as they are in melee they auto-escape at the end of the round, so the loss of a half action didn't affect anything this round. But that's good to know. Thanks.

 That's a good question. I had the actual year written down because it tied in directly with the purpose behind the title of the main IC thread "Rescue" of Endrite. I'll have to look it up again but its definitely after 748.M41, if that helps set your brain on track.

Also, I am not sure you can claim an Aim bonus if you switch targets, can you? I let it slide the first round, knowing that the Aim bonus was with regards to the single roll of Semi-auto fire action, but logic dictates that I look up the rule for it when I get home from work tonight.

You get the aim bonus when you make the attack; changing targets is determined after you succeed on the attack roll.  Therefore, you should still be able to claim the bonus.  I suppose this situation could be exploited by aiming at targets out of melee and then switching to targets that are stuck in, but I think the 2m rule is designed to prevent that sort of blatant rule-bending.  The semi-auto action description stipulates that subsequent targets cannot be harder to hit than the original.

If it helps, I've always rationalized the Aim action as less of an aim action and more of a bracing/stabilizing action when using semi-auto.
