Theme Deck
I'm thinking about the mechanic of a deck of cards... The deck contains thematic Buffs/Debuffs, Equipment, Events, etc - that factions or characters can use during play.

Drawing from this deck? A few options...

- Spend 2 points to draw 1
- GM rewards excellent RP
- Start of each Player Turn

I'd want to 'crowd source' ideas for the deck; but for the element of surprise, if you want to suggest cards -- please start a new PM thread with me, subject = "Card Ideas"

Interesting. I wonder how well there's worked out.

I've spent the weekend refining the Faction Creation/Sheet rules for the mashup; but they are by no means complete.

I've borrowed content from a few different sources; primarily games built on Fate.

Just FYI - the next stage for me is incorporating the SWN faction rules... This will mostly focus on the idea of Resources & Assets (like wealth, personnel, etc).

I'm conscious of the cognitive load this mashup may take; and I'm really conscious of trying to keep to the learning curve from spiking sharply. Ie, I want this to be simple to pick up & run with it.

To reinforce the vision I have: this game strives to be a narrative game that rewards creativity, rather than 'gaming' the rules & min/maxing, or simulationist micromanagement.

It should have the feel of a freeform, storytelling game - with enough 'levers' for players to pull enabling them to do a variety of interesting things, that have interesting consequences.

If you can imagine it; and it's reasonable (ie, not excessive or god-mode or meta); then you should be able to do it.

---

The more I talk about how I intend the game to feel, the more I hope you all start to develop an understanding of how to particiapte.

To this point - if you have ANY questions for me; please fire away.

I -think- I kind of follow how this will play, and I'm excited. I'll definitely let you know if I have any questions, and I'll take a look at the rules next week and make my comments/suggestions once I have some time to digest them.

Also: hi! Fellow player here. Looking forward to playing with you all.

Question for players:

Do you want characters/factions to be cooperative as a rule; or competitive?

If co-op; there'd be many more group scenes... More aligned with the traditional 'PCs in a party' trope.

If competitive; the game would roll most in solo threads, with the occasional PvP or FvF conflict in a group thread.
