Chapter Two: Dark Sun Rising

Lilith floats in and flattens herself against the ceiling, wanting nothing to do with that fire...thing. She’s no coward but vampires have a healthy respect and fear for fire which is well-deserved. She’ll engage the humans as soon as her comrades engage the Elemental or whatever it is.

Chapter Two: Dark Sun Rising

"Another fallen angel?" Markus grits his teeth in anticipation of the coming combat. Pivoting around the doorway after Xul and company let loose, Markus takes a more tactical approach, positioning himself near some of the boxes he hunkers down and brings his shield to purpose, while taunting the Celestial. "Sister! Your sky lord will betray you. You are wrong to leave the folds of the true lord, ASMODEUS!"

Chapter Two: Dark Sun Rising

The sound Nyenna's guns signals the start of yet another fight as she quickly ducks behind a shelving unit, the first cultist falls prone grasping his leg while the other fights through the pain as he keeps a hold of his gun, although before he can retaliate he is also struck by a crossbow bolt as Orson dodges back out of sight.

Dodgeing his way through Xul comes close to two other Cultists, however his thick scales shrug off the blows leaving him unharmed but being of fire seems to ignore the Lizardman but not before it raises a hand and plants a Sphere of Fire near to him and moves it towards Xul.
Xul takes 9 Fire damage, DC 15 Dexterity Save for half (4)

The being then focuses on Markus [Language unknown: "Chai ul Ithwilenc setal! U aceiio acsshe mein leol ho ni Tinhasbut!"] It then draws a flaming sword and calsually walks closer to the Hellknight.

Makaria's blast shatter's the Skylight, sending shards of glass falling down into the room, two cultists dive out the way as the glass lands taking superfical cuts, but one is showered in glass and had several large shards digging into their skin.

The Cultist that took the brunt of the glass places a hand on himself and chants a spell of healing, while some of his wounds heal he is still quite hurt.

The Cultist that Nyenna knocked to the ground stands up and hobbles his way behind a barrel and aims his rifle at her, but the bullet just smashes a jar on the shelf instead. His partner however throws a bolt of pure light towards the Half-Elf but the Guiding Bolt goes just as wide and dissapates harmlessly against the wall.

The remaing Cultist launches a Bolt of Fire upwards towards Makaria but it just shoots pasy the winged Tiefling and fades out as it reaches the extent of its range.

Chapter Two: Dark Sun Rising

Makaria remained perched on the roof, comfortable with the aerial superiority she had over their foes.  The Cultist with the flame magic would need to go, though.  Her mirrored battle mask was already on her face, and so none could see her lips when they began to chant.  Her right arm came up to touch the crystal implanted in the armor at her chest, and as she did it began to glow with a sickly green light.  She closed her eyes and whispered under her breath, the barely audible words both guttural and flowing.  When her eyes opened, they were filled with the same radiance.  She raised her right hand, which was bathed in concentric rings of twisted symbols, and pointed towards the man who had dared to craft flame at her.

"Aggra'kezos!"

She intoned, laying the First Curse upon him.  Then her hand formed a wicked claw, her lips uttering three words of roiling power that crashed upon the ears of those who heard them.

"Hazthresh'koth'arrandzi!"

Once more she tore an orb of pure void from the very fabric of reality and hurled it at the man she had cursed. It thrummed through the air as it struck, sending the fool sprawling backwards.

Even while raging the lizardman knew plowing through a sphere of fire wasn't a healthy choice and quickly skimmed along its edge, his club swinging in a frenzy as the berserker goes into full frenzy mode on the celestial fire creature that so casually ignored him, while the first strike didn't seem to really connect with anything he was sure the second smack would be a good tap on the celestial's shoulder...

Chapter Two: Dark Sun Rising

Placing his back against cover and his resting his mace in his shield hand, Markus smirked and pulled a rolled scroll from his armor. "Lord of Darkness, master of lies..." His face gradually turning more serious as the enchanted paper glows a deep red. "...grant your might to this vessel so that your will be done." The parchment begins to glow a bright hot yellow and burns as the blackgaurd finishes the enchantment. "Let my mace strike these heretics down in your name!" The paper fully disintegrates and the embers of burning parchment swirl in the air.

Picking his mace back in his free hand, Markus sticks the end of the iron weapon in the floating cloud of embers, the weapon now glows with a sinister force. Smashing the weapon against his shield and cocking his neck Markus channels his own reserves of power and calls upon the strength of the Citadel itself to strengthen his armor. Mentally and physically preparing for this creatures sword before turning to face its fury.

Chapter Two: Dark Sun Rising

Although one of Nyenna's shots go wide as she prepares to duck back from the next volley, the first shot strikes her foe hard in the head. Only his magical shielding saving him from this being a fatal blow but not from makeing him see stars as the desired effect of this shot takes place.

Xul and Orson's attacks do little to deter the celestial's advance towards Markus, it however makes every effort to disengage with the lizardman leaving no openings for Xul to take advantage of. As it reaches Markus it moves the ball of fire at Xul again.
Same again Xul 8 Fire Damage DC 14 Dex save for Half.

The two cultists that tried to attack Xul before run after him and try again, one fumbles at the fearsome fury of the Lizardman but the other strikes a powerful blow against him.
Xul 7  piercing damage, already halved due to rage.

The other blade wielding cultists make their way towards the rest of you, one tries to flank Nyenna as she is behind cover while the other tries to attack Lilith but only manages to slap her ass with the flat of his blade.

The Rifleman that Makaria blasted returns fire after righting himself, knowing that cover is usless agianst an airborn target he first places a Hunter's Mark on her in return for the Hex. The bullet strikes her in the air, while it doesn't penetrate the force still hurts.
Makaria you take 14 pireceing damage.

Nyenna's eyes flick to the cultist attempting to outflank her, then to the barrels of black powder behind him. Smirking, she reloads her pistols and bites her lip in anticipation as she unloads two shots into his chest.

18:00, Today: Nyenna rolled 15 using 1d20+5.  Bang.
Assuming that hits...
18:06, Today: Nyenna rolled 6 using 1d10+3.  Flintlock pistol damage.
Called Shot to the torso: pushed back 5 feet, Strength save or be pushed another 5 feet and have to spend the next round catching breath.
Spending 2 Technique points to make the next shot with Advantage, just to help this work...

18:09, Today: Nyenna rolled 5 using 1d10+3.  Flintlock pistol damage.
Another Called Shot to the torso. Since I used Technique Points to improve the Gun Stunt, this Strength save has Disadvantage.

As the cultist reels from the shots, Nyenna turns her face away and holds her wrists over her ears in preparation for the almost-certainly-imminent explosion.

Chapter Two: Dark Sun Rising

Well hindsight is a lovely thing is it not? I need to interrupt the action to deal with Nyenna's... carnage shall we say.

As the cultist trying to flank Nyenna makes his way around, the Half-Elf Gunslinger lets fly another volley. Her target has no time to react as the surprise knocks him backwards and into a barrel, which his flaming sword manages to pierce.

A chain reaction of explosions begins as the cultist at the centre of the inital explsion is incinerated instantly. Fortunetly none of you are near the secondary explsions, however Xul and Lilith feel the heat of them and are struck by small debris but it is a only a minor nuisance.

The same can not be said for the cultists however as the two that were trying to delay Xul are roasted, the one that had placed a Hunters Mark on Makaria has been burnt black and the one that Nyenna shot recently is charred; the only one to be sparred from this fate is the one combating Lilith.

One wall is almost completly blown out and is nothing more than rubble with bits of the ceiling collapsing in on itself as well, Makaria has a birds eye view of the destruction and it is terriyfing what this blackpowder can do in large quanitites.

Makaria and Orson have their full turns still this round and Lilith can apply her damage beforw anyone else posts.

Makaria raised her right hand in a warding gesture as the bullet flew towards her, calmly uttering a word in her strange tongue.

"Kri'ackkus."

A bright disk of glowing purple runes flickered into existence, catching the force of the projectile and sending it hurtling away into the sky.  She smiled down at him, though behind her mirrored battlemask nothing of her smile showed, and began to rip and tear another hole in reality to hurl at him.

"Hazthresh'koth'arrandzi."

The bolt of pure nothingness hummed down to the very foundations of reality as it streaked through the air and slammed into the man's face, knocking him backwards as ripples of her glowing green curse echoed through his body.

The Celestial lashes out with two swings of the flaming sword it carries, the first clangs off of Markus's shield while the other bites into Xul. However the Sphere of Fire that was created dissipates into nothing as its concentration upon the spell falters.
Xul you take 3 Slashing damage that has been halved for rage and 4 Fire damage.

Between Lilith and Makaria the remaining cultist is removed from play, leaving the Celestial as the only creature left standing at this point. It seems to shrug off most of the damage it takes from Xul and Orson, although the Crimsion Rite seems to be getting past this defence. However there is a shriek of pain as Markus's Mace strikes true, the enchantment he put upon it giving him an edge now.
