Your rank determines who you are... okay not really. But it does tell everyone your approximate skill and dedication to the Rad Scorpions. Folks in the wasteland respect that, even if they do try to kill you. The higher your rank, the more prestigious you are. Think of it as a sort of badge of honor. Higher ranks do get special privileges, usually in the way of gear, but also in choice assignments, freedom to carry out those assignments as they see fit, and the ability to influence others with their reputations with greater affect.

Here are the highest ranks from the top down. They aren't always present.

Field Marshal
Deputy Marshal
Ranger Elite

Below the Camp Ranks are the Officer Ranks. You have to be in the Officer Ranks before making it to one of the Rad Scorpion Camp Commanding Ranks. Furthermore, when in the wasteland, a Major, Commander, or Colonel has authority over a Ranger or Marshal.

To be qualified for an officer commission, Rookie, you've got to have a minimum rank of Corporal, 5 completed missions, seven kills, a 15 Charisma, and a +4 Reputation bonus.

Here are the enlisted ranks, again, from the top down. Officers always have authority over the enlisted Scorpions. But not everyone is cut out to be an officer. That being said, there is absolutely nothing wrong with being enlisted. Enlisted Scorpions get the fun jobs.
