At the sight of the assailants fanning out around them, Beloc shouts "Cowards!", as he starts to rap his weapon against his shield as an intimidation tactic.

Two of the acolytes lunge for Iro, and another goes for Beloc.

Iro artfully dodges the incoming knife strikes, letting them breeze past him.

Beloc let's a knife strike ping on his ironwood shield.

Iro retaliates against the nearest would-be stabber with a punch. The Acolyte dodges, however.

The fourth acolyte follows up behind his cohort taking a stab at Beloc. The blocked blow of the 3rd acolyte positions the 3rd to get in the way of the 4th, completely fouling his attack.

20:24, Today: Dungeon Master rolled 9 using 1d20+3.  Acolyte 4 attack roll.

Beloc ignores the feeble attacks from the first two acolytes, and charges towards one still dismounting from the chains. He raises his shield into a ramming position and slams into the unprepared defender.

21:24, Today: Beloc S'Viscus rolled 10 using 1d20+5.  Bull rush STR check.

As Beloc races to meet the other attackers, Sheeva bears down on the last one that attempted to strike her master. Her teeth gnash into the acolytes legs for a substantial critical hit [9 DMG].

21:28, Today: Sheeva rolled 23 using 1d20+3.  Bite on acolyte 4.
21:35, Today: Sheeva rolled 9 using 2d6+2.  Bite damage on acolyte 4.

21:34, Today: Sheeva rolled 11 using 1d20+1.  Trip attempt on acolyte 4.

Acolyte 5 is completely taken off guard by Beloc's brazen charge. Beloc slams in to the unprepared enemy and sends him stumbling back hard; so hard that the acolyte catches the waist high railing and flips completely over it, sending him tumbling down screaming.

The adjacent acolyte 6 take the opportunity of Beloc's proximity and strikes, but a weak wrist from a sports injury when he was younger comes back to haunt him, and he nearly drops the dagger he holds.

Acolyte 4 feels a searing pain as Sheeva's fangs sink deep into his calf.

In a fit of pain the acolyte flings his leg forward and sends Sheeva rolling.

Sheeva hops to her feet and shakes her head a few times, working her jaw.

Acolyte 6 recovers though, and takes another stab at Beloc, aiming for a space between armor plates. He fails miserably... again. Beloc almost has to stifle laughing at him.

Gazra moves in on acolyte 4 and crashes down on him as he flings Sheeva away. It connects with the acolytes shoulder resulting in a crunching sound.

The remaining acolyte 7 slashes wildly at Beloc, a muffled scream coming from behind his mask.
The attack lands but only manages a scratch on the side of Beloc's helmet.

Acolytes 1 and 2 continue trying to stab Iro. Both miss their strikes.

Acolyte 3 stabs at Gazra since Beloc has moved out of arms reach. He ducks as Gazra is swinging his morning star down at 4 and plunges his dagger between plates that protect Gazra's hip.

Dodging swiftly, Iro swings again, hoping to catch one in the throat. "Guys, I have an idea! But we need to clear out this rabble first!" He shouts, hoping to be heard over the din of battle.

Shiaran darts in behind the acolytes engaged with Iro.  As Iro stabs one, she stabs the other in the back with her katana, a precise strike that draws a splash of blood.  She does not withdraw the blade, choosing instead to stay with the attacker as he tries to turn to face her, using the blade as added torque to compensate for her greater radius of turning.

Shiaran rolls 4 damage on 1d10 and 4 damage on 1d6 for a total of 8 damage.]

Acolyte 1 stumbles back clutching his throat while acolyte 2 howls in pain at being skewered bu Shiaran. Icy rime starts to form around where the blade pierces him.

Acolyte 4 grunts heavily as his left shoulder is likely crushed by Gazra's blow, and starts to slump down. In one last feeble attempt at survival, he swings his dagger in vain at Gazra

Up above, a lone figures leaps off the edge of the enemy airship and sails down the chains.

Vaguely aware of the shadow descending upon him, Beloc brings here weapon to bear on the acolyte near him.

Acolyte six feebly tries to duck a slash from Beloc, but Beloc is too fast for him. The blade bites deep across the side of the acolytes face and head, knocking his mask off.  A bitter, twisted face is revealed underneath. Scabs and scars cover it. The young man couldn't be more than 18 or so, but his disfigurements make him look much older. His eyes give away his youth more than anything. Laugh lines and crows feet have yet to grace him with passing years.

He staggers back and drops his dagger, clutching the side of his face. Blood streams from underneath his hand and beneath his finger tips. Looking at Beloc, he says "Do it. Release me".

Removing his morning star from acolyte 4's shoulder as he slumps down to one knee, Gazra whips it around to swing at acolyte 3.

Seeing 4 get pummeled however has caused acolyte 3 to be wary. He quickly steps back as he see's Gazra start to swing around.

"Idiot!" screams acolyte 7 at 6. He leaps forward to try and tackle Beloc.

Acolyte 2 lurches forward and unstick Shiaran's blade from his back, and spins to cut her. In a screaming rage he stabs wildly and connects with Shiaran's collar [6 DMG]. Shiaran is able to twist away just enough that the dagger doesn't go in straight down, and doesn't get buried to it's hilt

Seeing the way down isn't quite clear, the lone figure sliding down grips tight the chains and slows to a halt, hanging 20 foot above the deck, watching. He wears clothing similar to that of the acolytes, but similar to Oro's choice of outfit, glints of metal peak out from underneath his loose fitting outerwear. "Fight on you failures, be worthy of our Death Matron!" he calls down to the acolytes. His hood is up, but it's clear to see his hair and mustache are grey.

Sensing a body encroaching a bit too close, Beloc tosses the scimitar in the air with a slight rotation enabling him to reverse his grip. Once back under his control, he thrusts the blade behind him in an attempt to impale the acolyte.

Shiaran winces in pain, but maintains her focus on her opponent.  Again she makes a surgical strike.  It hits, but deals little initial damage.  Shiaran smirks with contempt as the blade ignites in a cool, blue flame.

DM EDIt - Shiaran's blades scores a searing lines across acolyte 2's chest. The cold fire near instantly freezes whatever blood would have escaped from the wound. Acolyte 2 drops down to his knees and slumps forward. - Acolyte 2 is out of the fight

"Just need to --" Iro is interrupted by a stab that he dodges neatly. "--Get passed these guys! Iro then throws his elbow into the face of the acolyte still facinging him.

With the blade still impaling the acolyte behind him, he drops his elbow to right his grip. In a single motion he pulls the blade out and slashes out toward the acolyte in front of him. A trail a blood follows his weapon like a tracer.

Sheeva sees Beloc flanked, and with opponents start falling all around her, she rushes over to engage the enemy behind him. She leans in and takes a bite out of his med-section. Between her thrashing about and her sheer weight, she attempts to knock the defender down.

Acolyte 6's head rolls back as it parts from his neck. Acolyte 7 falls down prone from Sheeva's assault on his legs. 7 spends his move getting back up and incurs an attack of opportunity from Sheeva.

Sheeva goes for the jugular as the acolyte stands back up, blood spurts profusely as the man goes limp in her jaws.

As Acolyte 3 panics and shuffles his feet backwards, he quickly finds his back against the wall of the Sky Burrow's aft bulkhead where the door out to the observation deck is located. He's pulled his mask from his face, and similar to acolyte 6, his face is that of a young man, with scaring and pock marks across his face. His eyes are wild and wide, and his breathing is rapid and erratic.

As the group is turning to face him, a loud thud hits behind them. Sypher lands on the deck in a double roll, and shakily gets on his feet.

At the same time, a tinking sound comes from the chains above. The lone figure slides down the top most chain leaving a wide berth between himself and Beloc. He lands taking a knee and crouched, and as he stands he draws a long sword from a scabbard across his back.

"Gentlemen, lady...Gazra.. I am Sylas Be'al, First Sword of the Bleeding Palms. Since you've managed to dispatch the lads so quickly, you'll face me". He raises his long sword in a salute. He commands acolyte 3 "You there, make yourself useful, and stay put and out of the way. You'll be the lucky one". He shifts he weight to his back foot, and takes a low defensive stance, addressing the group again. "Alright, all at once now. No quarter".

Sylas maintains his defensive stance, not moving.

Acolyte 3 stands frozen against the wall, still panicking.

"Careful everyone, Sylas is no pushover. Be wary of the old man in a profession where young men often die".

Iro watching the situation unravel with a keen eye. With everyone still, and tension palpable in the air, he decides to move first. Careful to keep his eyes on Sylas, he backs up. Once out of immediate striking distance, he walks towards the fear stricken acolyte, and says, "Sorry buddy. Can't have you just standing here. Sleep tight, see you in the morning light!" The acolyte hardly has time to respond to Iro's cheeriness before a fist lands firmly in his stomach, doubling him over.

20:30, Today: Iro Swordhand rolled 23 using 1d20+4.  Attack roll.
20:31, Today: Iro Swordhand rolled 2 using 1d6.  Non-Lethal Damage.

Shiaran rushes over to Sypher.  "Nice of you to drop in."

As Iro moves in on Acolyte 3, Sylas flings his long sword hard and fast as Iro lands his first strike.

Iro hears the sword more than he see's it until he catches a glimpse out of the corner of his eye. The sword misses him, but makes a brief half spin in mid-air and then returns back in the same path it flew, and is then snatched by Sylas from the air.

"The next one wont miss whelp. I instructed him to stay out of this, and you'll not lay another hand on him. By my word he's a noncombatant... and he knows better than to disobey. Turn and face your actual opponent, coward".

Beloc swipes the fresh blood from his blade off with a few flamboyant flourishes meant to intimidate. "Why don't you try that with someone your own size."

He raises his shield, charges up, and attempts to plant it square in his chest. As the shield makes contact, several holes all over his armor open up like pores. Tons of tiny hornets come pouring out and swarm around Sylas. The swarm buzzes around him but fails to do much more than annoy.

Sheeva moves up into a flanking position and attempts to nip at his heels. Teeth gnash into his hamstrings causing more damage than setting him off balance.

As Beloc charges Sylas, Sylas lashes out with his long sword, but the strike is batted away by Beloc's shield.

22:33, Today: Sylas Be'al rolled 14 using 1d20+4.  Attack of Opportunity vs. Beloc's Bull Rush.

Sylas braces himself for the impact. Despite the brace and having his feet planted firmly, it isn't enough to stop the charging Beloc.

The charge carries him back and slams him into the railing, dealing [5 DMG] and flipping him over the ledge.

Sylas lets his sword fling out and up, freeing his hand. He catches the lowest rung of the railing and stops himself.

22:51, Today: Sylas Be'al rolled 15 using 1d20+2.  Reflex Save.

Beloc peers over the railing for a moment to see Sylas dangling. "You're right Gazra, not a total pushover."

Seeing Sylas catch himself at the last moment, Gazra takes the time to start walking towards him. He chuckles at Beloc's taunt. "We'd thought you dead Sylas. It seems like every time we meet, you're on the verge of being that way. How exactly did you become First Sword again?".
