Combat! The Breach.

The immolated Ghoul manages to stand and begins shuffling his way down the hall, still smoldering and completely covered in charred skin. It doesn't quite make it all the way to the group yet. Its movements are erratic and jerky.

The ghoul behind the one Sypher obliterated falls on top of Gazra and begins to claw and bite, ignoring those around him.

Combat! The Breach.

The Ghast continues its assault on Beloc, gnashing its teeth and swinging its clawed hands on the warrior druid. Its bite and first claw attack are deflected, but it manages to jam its other clawed hand in between the plates of armor shielding the side of Beloc's neck. It digs in deep and squeals happily. Beloc takes [7 DMG].

Roll fortitude save, DC 15 versus paralysis. On save, continue as normal. On fail, roll 1d4+1 for paralysis duration in rounds

Combat! The Breach.

The ghoul grappling Gazra has him pinned, but Gazra's bulky frame and over all strength is making un-life difficult for the ghoul to deal him any damage with claws and teeth.

Combat! The Breach.

Finally able to act, Shiaran lights up her own blade with a cool blue glow and carefully stabs the ghoul on Gazra through the shoulder.  She drives the sword down into its chest toward the waist, careful to angle it so that it does not hit Gazra.  Unfortunately, the tough meat of the monster's muscles prevent the lithe rogue from sliding it in as far as she would like.

[Private to GM: Take 10 on hit for a total of 14 vs. grappling ghoul.
Damage total for 1d10 blade and 1d6 cold is 9 + 1 = 10.
Ghoul must roll Fort save vs. DC 20 or be frozen for 4 rounds.

Beloc does a fine job deflecting most of the ghast's attacks, but as the claw penetrates his defenses, his muscles lock up and freezes in place.

Combat! The Breach.

Sypher rotates his flaming katana and brings it down on the ghoul's neck, severing it from the body.  The move is precise, surgical and made easy by the ghoul's frozen state.  He then kicks the carcass off of Gazra so the warrior can rise.  He looks up at the ghast.  "Your companions fell as wheat before me.  Come, meet your destiny foul monster."

[Private to GM: Takes 10 to hit frozen target for a total of 15.
Damage total for (1d10 + 1d6) x2 is 18.
Move action, kick the ghoul corpse off Gazra.

Combat! The Breach.

Retching and dry heaving, Gazra manages to rapidly stammer to his feet. Clots of coagulated ghoul "mess" cover the face of his helmet and neck guard from the up close and personal beheading. He backs his way past Shiaran and Sypher, trying to hold down his last meal. The remaining ghoul, no longer on fire, that followed behind the now headless one reaches next to the Ghast and grabs ahold of Beloc, and jerks his frozen stiff body away from the party, using the Ghast's gnashing teeth and over all bulk as a shield. Beloc's light frame still proves cumbersome for the badly damaged ghoul, and he barely gets five foot away before Beloc slips from his grasp and lands on the floor, still frozen in his defensive position.

Behind Shiaran, Gazra manages to get his helm pulled up just in time before the contents of his stomach empty whether he wants it to or not.

Shiaran's move, then rotation begins again with Ghast

Combat! The Breach.

Shiaran sees Beloc dragged away, then fall.  Lightning quick she recalculates her strategy.  "I cannot delay now.  The elf will die."  Lacking the spells necessary for combat, she resorts to her sword, praying that she skipped few enough sword lessons to carry her through this battle.

Her prayer was answered to an extent as she feints high drawing the ghast's arm up so that she can come underneath.  Her blade bites deep, but is not quite at the right angle to sever the arm.  Instead she scores a deep hit into the torso where the blade begins its magical assault.

[Private to GM: 23:56, Yesterday: Shiaran Whiteraven rolled 24 using 1d20+4.  Attack vs. Ghast.
23:57, Yesterday: Shiaran Whiteraven rolled 10 using 1d10,1d6.  Damage vs. Ghast.

00:00, Today: Shiaran Whiteraven rolled 12 using 1d20+4.  Fudge the roll on crit threat.

Ghast must make a save vs. DC 20 or be frozen for 1 round.

Shiaran's blade makes a crackling sound as it begins to freeze over, first at the wound site and then spreading forth from there. The Ghast screeches and then lurches back, sneering at Shiaran. Through sheer force of will it manages to resist being frozen, but it isn't happy in the slightest degree. "I'll tear off ya face and wear it like a mask ya wench! it yells.

It takes a half step and lashes out, swinging twice ineffectively at Sypher with its claws, and then whips its head around and sinks its teeth in to Shiaran's wrist, biting deep for [4 DMG].

Shiaran, fortitude save versus paralysis, DC15. If failed, roll 1d4+1 for paralysis duration in rounds

Sypher sees the ghast bite down and Shiaran freeze up.  With Gazra down, only he remains.  The doubt creeps back in.  He takes a measures slice at the monster's arm, but it does not have the power to penetrate the creature's hardened skin.  He returns to a guarded stance, measuring the ghast's ability and trying not to look at the horrifying form of Shiaran.

Sypher takes a calculated swing at the fallen ghast.  He reverses the hilt in his hands and stabs down, bringing the full force of his weight down into the stab.  The swords passes through the creature's stomach, glances off the spine and penetrates to the deck below.

[Private to GM: Sypher takes 10 for a total of 15 against a prone target for a total of 19.
Sypher rolls a 9 for damage of 1d10+1d6.  Double damage vs. undead yields an 18.

The ghast screams and writhes in agony as the purifying flames of The First Blade of House Whiteraven char and sizzle. A burst of flame erupts from the wound site and rapidly begins to consume the ghast, while Sheeva shakes him like a chew toy.

The remaining Ghoul lunges at Sypher standing over the dying ghast, but Sypher quickly shoves him backwards with a palm strike and maintains the gap between himself and his attacker.

Sypher takes a single step forward and with a flourish, dispatches the last ghoul with his sword.  He wipes the foul gore from the metal of the blade on the tatters of burning ghoul, hoping the fire helps with the cleansing.  Then he turns to survey who needs his help the most.

Shiaran stirs and shakes her hand.  When she nods that she is okay, Sypher turns to Beloc and kneels.  "Fight through it.  We must find a way to deal with or survive the cannons."
