Episode Two: Gone are Better Days

As the trio races back to the quarterdeck, Sypher and Rebort both sense a sizeable handful of the enemy bearing down on the front door. The doors are closed, and the two marines on watch are hunkered down, but only wielding pistols.

"Large group bearing down on the door."  Sypher moves in toward the Marines.  "Gentlemen, would you mind moving back to support while I take point?"  He draws his sabre and faces the door in a relaxed stance.

"Beloc, you're Sypher's second up front.  Rebort, sniper."  Shiaran draws her shuriken and stands off to the side of Rebort, ready to fend off any one who gets by the tanks before they reach the golem.

Shiaran grimaces at her shuriken, drops them and pulls out her pistols.  She opens fire on any lacedon not coming through the door.  Still unfamiliar with the weapons, she does minimal damage to the creature.

Sypher's blade ignites in white fire.  He ignores the lacedon shot by Shiaran and focuses on the one uninjured yet.  His blade slashes across it's torso from hip to opposing shoulder in a single smooth stroke.  The creature is shorn completely in half, both of which catch fire and incinerate before they hit the ground.

Sypher steps back into a ready position.

Shiaran raises the pistols again and gives them another try.  Without flinching she fires off two shots at the monster she hit previously, the one bearing down on her brother.  Both shots hit dead center mass in succession, causing the torso to explode backward in a shower of gore.

She looks at her guns again as she rotates them along the barrel, giving them a second appraisal.  She smiles and nods.

Episode Two: Gone are Better Days

The first within Beloc's range is the lacedon (L4) that comes charging in through the window. He swings high, aiming for the head, and strikes hard. His new falchion quickly removes its head from its shoulders and the momentum carries the blade around in a semi-circle. Before the head hits the ground, his blade bites into the lacedon (L3) coming through the door. He cuts a clean black like across its torso, and it falls motionless to the ground.

Episode Two: Gone are Better Days

The two marines take aim and make short work of the remaining lacedon before it can manage to even realize what's happening.

Kallium comes barreling around the corner with his full kit, suited up. He takes one glance at the carnage in the quarterdeck and nods. "Lacedons. Aquatic ghasts. Perfect for entering stealthily into a navy yard. This can't be the only thing on its way here. This is a skirmish force, meant to soften the base. I don't know what this place faces in the coming hour, but it wont be small. The PCA doesn't just toss troops at a target to poke us in the eye, they always mean business. This area is no longer safe. We have to get to the motor pool and evacuate. The marines here can hold out for a time, maybe even repel this".

Secondary explosions outside rock the officer's barracks. "The munitions inside of the armory are starting to cook off. You two, marines. Get out of here, rally with whoever you can find, and get to the mess hall. The admirals are holed up in the Admiral's Table. Move!".

The two marines bark out an "Aye, sir!" and quickly take to their feet. They pause to peer out of the door, and sprint off in to the dim evening. "Shiaran, on point. Beloc, with her. Sypher and Rebort, watch our flanks. I'll watch the rear. Head to the main gate, straight out of this door and across parade grounds. Don't stop if we don't have to, I-". A third and massive explosion cracks and splinters to wood and plaster walls of the room. "Lets go!".

Episode Two: Gone are Better Days

Outside the fighting has intensified. To the marine's credit, they've managed to get geared up and rally quickly. A team of 12 is actively fighting off the dead outside of the mess hall, and muzzle flashes spew hot lead from up high on the walls of the yard. Off in the distance, towards town, the sounds.of fighting can be heard as well. An outright melee of marines, sailors, and undead rages in every direction. You pass by dead and dying on both side, grousome wounds cover the fallen. The majority of the marines and sailors who've met their end still have their bodies relatively in tact. The wounds focus primary to the throat and neck areas of many.

In front of the group, two lacedons chewing on a body catch notice of your movement and make a dash towards you, while 4 more come at the rear. Two on the left flank, three on the right. Each is somewhere around 50 foot away.

You may freely attack any of your aggressors. Please keep posts turn based to give all members of the party a chance to act before you make a second action, if any

Shiaran, who stands on the left of Beloc, engages the first of those lacedon's approaching from the front.  Her blade glows with chilling blue anti-fire and slashes almost casually at the monster's gut.  The wound is deep, almost slicing the thing in half as the ice begins to form from the wound.

Beloc remains at Shiaran's side, so to speak. Seeing her fighting style a few times already, he maneuvers himself to allow her a flanking position to maximize her potential. He strikes at the last remaining lacedon of the two. The cut is deep, but not enough to fell the foe.

Episode Two: Gone are Better Days

R.E.B.O.R.T. drops to a knee, a few paces behind Sypher, putting the man wielding the fiery blade between him and the approaching ghouls. He takes at at one of the lacedons from the group of three, and fires.  The shot catches it just below the jaw, and subsequently takes the head clean off. The body flies backwards tumbling end over end until comes to a stop a good ten feet back.

Quickly, he pushes a new round into the chamber with a single deft action.

08:05, Today: R.E.B.O.R.T. rolled 20 using 2d10.  Damage vs. lacedon.
