Lithuanwe nods and assures Rebort it will be brought, and that compensation isn't necessary. He then steps outside to speak with Beloc.

Darius listens to Shiaran. "Elves form deep bonds in friendship you know? You and I might be lucky to earn a friend for a few decades. They have at least a century of trust built between them. Isn't Lithuanwe the one who sent Kallium out to close the Faults to begin with?".

It isn't long before the atendee returns with two others and addresses Rebort. "Pardon us, sir, but where would you like your supplies to be delivered?"

Another asks Sypher if she can get him anything.

Episode Three: The Spectral Faults

Shiaran bites her bottom lip.  "I didn't realize that he sent Kallium out.  Still, I don't like the idea of trusting anyone we haven't verified or reverified - of just accepting them because we happened to be friends before the war.  I wouldn't just walk up to the Master and start blabbing all our details.  What if the enemy had corrupted him somehow?  Even the Master?"

"I have a station set up in our transport. I will work from there." He says in reply to the attendant. "Where will I find the kiln once I am ready to fire my creation?"

There is a certain gleam in his eye when speaking about his 'creation'.

Episode Three: The Spectral Faults

Darius ponders Shiaran's words. "Your points are valid. But is the mindset worth alienating or pushing away those who could help us? We don't have the full details on where each of the faults are, and at some point, we'll probably find ourselves behind enemy lines. This isn't something that's going to be a cake walk for the next week and be over with, and I'm sure you know that. You're an intelligent and quite frankly deadly woman. My vote is giving him the benefit of the doubt. If he does cross us, well... they say you can try anything once.. once. I don't see much room for anyone to get away with setting this team up for failure".

Listening and not being able to keep quiet any longer, Krem pipes up. "E' don't seem loik a bad bloke if Beloc trusts em'. Not to say your feelins' on the matter are irrelevant, love. But you did nominate ol' Beloc to lead us for the time, an throwin' a wrench in 'is gears ain't helpin' none of us. No disrespect meant a'course".

The raven on the turret flutters down and lands a few feet from Shiaran. It hops a step or two closer, and looks her up and down. It still makes the purring sounds, like it's admiring her.

Meanwhile...

Up topside, the attendees tell Rebort that several market stalls and workshops down below have kilns nearby. Just dropping the name Lithuanwe will guarantee him usage as long as he needs.

Beloc and Lithuanwe remain out of earshot.

Beloc continues his conversation for quite a bit longer as he peers out over the forest. Apache sits in the main room, watching patiently.

After a while, he starts to make his way back inside. "On a lighter note, how is Sheeva these days? Nearing her twilight, I assume, and no doubt leader of her pack?"

Hearing his voice, Apache trots over to Beloc and places his head at hand petting height.

"My good man, I don't believe I've gotten your name, and I feel terribly rude for not asking sooner. What with our.. interruption earlier, I've gone and forgotten how to be a good host it seems. Do please sit down, I'd imagine all of you are weary on your feet at this point".

Shiaran shakes her head and lets out a deep breath.  "I get what you are saying, but I still think its a bad idea to give details out based on past friendship when we were out of the world for years.  But Beloc is in temporary command of the mission, so I'll defer to him."  She looks Darius straight in the eye.  "For now.  Even a hint of betrayal from Meliam and I'll kill him, former friend or not."

She turns away, done with the conversation.  "I'm going to find something to eat."  The young woman stalks off into the trees in search of real food.

Episode Three: The Spectral Faults

Lithuanwe is taken aback for a brief second on the realization that Sypher is kind to Shiaran in someway. Perhaps it's the staunch night and day difference between the two. Whatever the case, he doesn't let it phase him or his manners.

On Shiaran's parting words, Krem remarks to Darius "Oi think she means it". Darius replies "Yes, I do too. And that worries me in the event of a false positive". Shiaran is out of earshot as soon as Darius finishes his sentence.

Rebort is able to start his creation uninterrupted. For the construct to construct something of his own of this magnitude is a new experience. He toils away, molding and shaping his clay.

Shiaran finds an abundance of foods, mostly vegetarian. One market stall in particular piques her interests though. The subtle smells of meat being roasted over an open fire draw her in. Manning the cooking, is a short but stout dwarf. As she approaches, the dwarf greets her.
"A good afternoon to ye, miss. Might I in'trest ya in some fire roasted stag? An maybe a bit o' seed for your wee friend there?" he says, looking down towards the raven hopping behind Shiaran.

Sypher is treated to respite and a means to unwind a bit. Light finger foods and teas are at his disposal, as well as a comfortable place to rest.

Beloc is offered the same as Sypher. Lithuanwe informs Beloc and Sypher he has a few government matters to attend to, and politely excuses himself for the time being with the parting gift of telling the two to make themselves at home, and don't be afraid to ask for anything.

As Rebort works, and Krem and Darius finally take a load off, a team of elves arrive to offload the stasis chrysalis containing Corporal Padraig Vims, while another arrives to deliver the laundry list of demands Shiaran made.

Episode Three: The Spectral Faults

R.E.B.O.R.T. toils for the remainder of the day in his makeshift workshop inside the Badger. He emerges with a sculpture that looks a bit like what a human child of the age of eight would lump together, but nonetheless, R.E.B.O.R.T. appears to be exceedingly proud of it. The magical unguents and glaze sparkle at times when the moonlight catches it just right.

With much haste, he heads in the direction of workshops previously described to him, to fire up his new creation.

Shiaran looks back at the bird with narrowed eyes.  "You've been following me since Lithuanwe's.  You a spy?"  She turns back to the dwarf and smiles politely.  "I'd love some steak.  I guess I'll take some seeds, too.  You don't happen to know where the library is, or where the spellcasters hang out in town?"  She waves her hand in a circular motion indicating the vicinity.  She hoped she didn't look as clueless as she felt at the moment.  Dwarf's weren't really her type, but it didn't hurt to turn on the charm a bit.

Sypher pulls an old, leather-bound book from his pack and setd it next to his plate.  He closes his eyes and folds his hands and remains silent for quite some time.

Eventually he opens his eyes and begins reading as he eats.  He does not scarf down his food like Shiaran is wont to do, but his appetite is just as healthy.  The fare on the road and the action earlier had fueled that hunger.

In reply to Shiaran Whiteraven (msg # 553):

The raven looks quizzically at Shiaran, and shakes its head furiously as if trying to expel her words from its ears.

The dwarf chuckles. "Looks like he mai' understan' ye. Oor just coincidence. An'a regardin' your spell casters, jus' head over tha' way" he says, pointing towards the northern end of the city. "There's a husband an' wif that dabble, if I have me sources right. Tree should be covered in carvins' too. Some of em' glow". He speaks while he cuts a fine hunk of layered steak from a vertical spit, where dozens of thinly sliced layers are impaled and packed down, while being slowly turned against an adjacent fire. He serves the layered meat goodness on a flatbread, elvish in nature. "Tell me lass, do ye have any word of the outside world? Been a good while since I lef' this place. Can't get in contact with me kin under tha mountain, and I don't care much for the city south of hear".

Episode Three: The Spectral Faults

Suddenly wary, Shiaran's eyes narrow for a split second before she shrugs, affecting a sad demeanor.  "Not much to say other than that it's pretty bad out there.  PCA forces all over.  I'm sure you overhear this anyway, but they overran the Langdon military base and city as well as the outpost at Midway.  I don't know anything more than that.  I've been...out of touch with Fildegarne for a few years."

Shiaran takes the meat and seeds and adds a silver on top of the charged price.  "Thanks for the food and the info."  With the sandwich causing all kinds of saliva, she takes a huge bite before she finds a spot to plop down and eat.  Her eating accommodations are not far from the dwarf in case he has more to ask.  She did not want to cut him off and seem rude given the information he provided, but her barriers were all up, especially after the altercation with Beloc.

Around a mouthful of food she continues her conversation with the bird.  "So you aren't a spy.  Do you like seeds?"

Episode Three: The Spectral Faults

Lithuanwe agrees and insists on Beloc's request being fulfilled. He assures him everything will be taken care of, fuel and all. Sypher is all but having elvish food and drink showered on him by the attendees, whether he wants it or not.

Meanwhile...
The dwarf sits quietly at the news Shiaran gives him. He seems to have some idea of what was going on, but the full gravity of the world outside the wood hadn't set in on him. The raven, when offered seeds, hops around in a circle, and bobs its head up and down. This in turn gives the dwarf something else to think on, given the amusing sight. "Tis a shame really, that I can't contact me kin. Only one fella' can do tha' now, but his lands are a "no-go" zone for any'wha who isn't a clansman. An' last I hear, he dunna do favors".

Over at the Badger...
Krem and Darius continue to rest, content to not be moving.

At the kiln...
Rebort watches closely and carefully over his creation, and marvels at the brilliants glow coming from within the earthenware furnace.
