Episode Three: The Spectral Faults
Over the course of the next hour, Sypher, under the guidance, or at times control of Kallium, works tirelessly. He weaves geometric shapes in the air, traces unknown symbols, and chants words that are not his own. Just as it seems to everyone else that the process is going to take forever, a stiff breeze blows from the directions Sypher is facing. It increases in strength until the heavy layers of fog start to become wispy white tendrils, billowing along and outward from the epicenter of magic. The fog doesn't recede completely, but it backs off substantially. A hole above opens, and allows what sunlight is available to trickle through the cloudy overcast high up over the orchard.
The winds die out, and the scene is still and serene. Rows of trees in various states of decay or withering can be seen, and they stretch for what looks like it could be a mile.
Kallium speaks through Sypher to everyone. "The Dead Orchard. It used to be a resting ground for the bodies of wood elves who have passed. A fruit bearing tree would be planted over where the deceased were laid. It was symbolic of us giving back, even after we've gone. Though, no one ever actually ate the fruits. Now, it has a blight. When the first PCA necromancers came here some seven years ago, they brought with them a foul taint. But even in death, our ancestors refused the sirens call of the necromancers, and instead passed on entirely. What last living connections they had to this mortal coil, they severed from beyond the grave. The Orchard used to be called the "Orchard of the Dead", but for obvious reasons it's taken on this moniker. Now then, I can feel Sypher is experiencing some fatigue after this event, so I'll give him a moment to rest before we five begin our work. It should take less time than my removing of my sigil, as we have the work split five ways. Are there any questions in the mean time?".
