Sigurd looks over at Beloc, his sword and shield drawn as well. "Well then my elven friend, how do you want to play this?".

Shiaran lets out a silent curse.  "Be wary.  Those weapons won't even distract a vampire if what I read is true.  I have a spell that may help you, but I can only cast it once so I'll save it for Elm.  As we advance, focus on targets I designate.  Otherwise, save your ammo and try to stay out of sight, or at least out of harm's way while Sypher and I work.  This is not a slight against your ability.  We should have equipped you better for this quest."

Beloc glances over at Sigurd. "Swiftly and silently." He looks over at R.E.B.O.R.T. "And firearms may just alert others to our presence. Rebort, can you do anything to enchant his weapons, if they aren't already?"

R.E.B.O.R.T. nods. "I will assist as needed."

Sigurd extends his sword out to Rebort. "If we are to fight the kind of monsters you say they are, then yes, I don't think cold steel alone will do".

Garyl listens intently to Shiaran's instructions, nodding his head. "Yes ma'am, noted. Even if all I can do is piss them off as a distraction, I'll be the best pisser offer I can".

He stands at the ready, auto-rifle in hand.

R.E.B.O.R.T. approaches Sigurd and places his hand on the outstretched sword. His eyes go dark and his docent flares up a dull red as magic flows through him and into the weapon. "The effect is temporary but will suffice in its goal."

R.E.B.O.R.T. uses the Magic Weapon infusion, conferring a magical +1 enhancement to attacks and damage rolls.

Sypher comes to some conclusion.  He holds up one finger and points forward.  Then he holds up two and points behind.  Indicating all in the room, he points forward again then moves as silently in that direction as he can.

Sypher and Shiaran get within 20 feet of their targets, with Garyl creeping further behind them. He has a hard time keeping up, but at his current pace he doesn't make a sound.

Sigurd nods, thanking Rebort. He turns his gaze to Beloc. "Who goes first?".

"Their reflexes are beyond reproach, so catching them off guard will be difficult. However, the element of surprise is all we have right now. Focus on the ones that have isolated themselves first and strike fast." Beloc looks over to Sigurd and R.E.B.O.R.T. "Ready?"

Can we use the map on the Filde page to position ourselves and work up a strategy?

Sypher points to the vampiric guard on the right.  Shiaran nods and leaps forward, attempting to stab it in the back.  As she moves, her blade begins to glow with the silent blue flame.  Her weapon strikes true and deep into the vampire's right torso, just below the ribs and bursts out the front.

Sypher strikes with her, moving right next to her, his own blade glowing with white fire.  Though he moves to the vampire on the right, he remains aware of the one to his left, a secondary target after this first strike against the primary.  With the split concentration, though, his sword only manages a glancing blow against the vampires left torso.

R.E.B.O.R.T. offers up a suggestion. "The entity at the top of the stair is alone. The odds of eliminating the target without alerting the others are in our favor. For the time being."

Beloc nods and looks over at Sigurd. "You approach from the stairs, and I'll come at him from the other side."

The armor-clad elf positions himself on the south side of the stairs and sets himself up to get a small running start. Four powerful strides later, he leaps up and grabs a hold of the ledge. A surge of strength launches his lithe elven frame up and over the ledge. Beloc lands as quietly as his gear allows him, weapon in hand and ready to strike.

Sigurd nods, brandishing his sword. His leather and fur clad armor lends well to making little noise as he skulks over to the base of the stairs. Still wearing his low light goggles, he takes the stairs two at a time, rushing his opponent. At the last second, the vampire senses him in some way. The evil creature wheels around, brandishing his rifle like a quarter staff to deflect Sigurd's blow. With the fluid grace of a cat, the vampire brings a knee up into Sigurd's stomach, stopping the barbarian warrior dead in his tracks. As it connects, it lets out a loud and feral sounding hiss. Sigurd grunts in severe pain, a spurt of blood flying from his mouth as he's nearly doubled over.

The two vampires attacked by Shiaran and Sypher attempt to react, but neither match the speed and precision of their human aggressors. Both shriek in pain, with the one damaged by Shiaran nearly dropping down to a knee were it not for the sword sticking through him. Despite the damage inflicted, he doesn't seemed phased by the sword's freezing properties.

R.E.B.O.R.T. attempts to avoid directly engaging with the vampires given his current host of weapons. Instead, he waves a hand in the general direction of the one that sucker punched Sigurd. Nothing obvious appears to happen initially.

Sypher does not hesitate.  He swings high for the monster's neck.  The flaming blade cuts clean through, cauterizing the necrotic flesh.  [Vamp 1 --> 10x2 = 20 DMG]

Continuing the swing, Sypher hits the shoulder of the second vampire in succession. [Vamp 2 --> 4x2 = 8 DMG]

[Sypher takes Full Attack.
Sypher takes 10 on two attacks with First Blade of House Whiteraven.

The vampire still standing with Sypher and Shiaran locks eyes with Sypher. With a brief flash of red in his gaze, he invades Sypher's mind, and then issues a single, one word command. "Kill..".

Sypher is under the affects of dominate person as a special ability. He is compelled to follow simple orders that don't involve self harm. If the vampire loses concentration or dies, the special ability ends.

Sigurd loses his footing from the blow to his abdomen he received and stumbles backward, falling down the stairs.

Concerned about her brother, but trusting him to figure out the way around the vampires mistake, she lunged with her sword.  It glances off the right torso and barely cuts flesh.  Her follow up strike doesn't even get close.

Garyl remains unseen given the CQC nature of the fight, opting to heed Shiaran's warnings of not getting too close.

Beloc takes full advantage of the vampire's distraction and leans in for a full attack. He swings low to cripple his opponents escape. The blade bites deep into the back of one of his legs [25 DMG], severing the hamstring and bringing the vampire to its knee. The vampire looks back to identify the source of the damage only to find Beloc's second strike coming in for the kill. The attack cleanly separates its head from its shoulders [25 DMG]. It plops to the floor and slowly rolls down the stairs toward Sigurd. The last thing the vampire sees before the lights go out is the smirk forming on Sigurd's face.

With the immediate threats dispatched, Beloc hears a comotion suddenly in the direction of the two vampires to the north of them. Their sensitive hearing should have already brought them running, however instead there are sounds of a scuffle and a sickening crunch.

Meanwhile, on the south west end of the wing, Shiaran, a bewitched Sypher, and a vampire continue to do battle.

Turn order remains the same for this round, with any new opponents that may be encountered falling at the end of the list
