Beloc makes it a point to enter the room last. To be the first point of contact should they get flanked. He notices Elm, much like everyone else does, but his eyes do not linger on the vampire. Instead, his eyes scan the room for any sign of the royal family.

Elm lounges in a finely crafted wing back chair, one leg crossed over the other. He wears a tailored suit of white and gold linen and silk. In one hand he holds a wine glass, lazily swirling its dark content before brining the glass to his lips. With his empty hand, he makes an open palmed gesture, as if to mockingly welcome everyone into the room. "Good. I was hoping this would be kept civilized. I trust the welcoming party outside was hospitable. I also trust you have questions? You mortals always do. Ask, while I'm feeling patient".

"We have no questions.  Nothing you say could be trusted anyway.  Give the royal family to our care."  Shiaran adds nothing to the command.

Neither does Sypher.

Beloc punctuates Shiaran’s sentiment with a face of stone cold seriousness. “Where are they?”

Elm waves a hand with a flourish. "Oh honestly, they're in the room across the hall. You act as if this garrison tower is some sort of labyrinth.. or that I'd be stupid enough to not keep them near me?". He sits his wine glass on the table, and then snaps his fingers. A crackle of energy erupts at the doorway behind Beloc, and again across the room. Where there once was a door, is now a stone wall the same as the rest of the room. Neither Oro, nor Gazra, nor Kallium or Sigurd are anywhere to be found. The roaring fireplace has also changed, and is now an open archway. Beyond it, dark purple clouds streaked with lightning roll by across a rocky landscape. Thick stalagmites stick up in several spots on the floor, giving the appearance of a cave with no walls or ceiling. "Since you all want to be so direct and blunt, let us attend the matter at hand". As he ends his sentence, he snaps his fingers again, vanishing from his chair and reappearing beyond the portal. He rotates his arms as if loosening up, and turns his neck from side to side, before removing his pristine white overcoat. He lets it fall from his hand and it vanishes from sight, before finally drawing a long sword from his waist. He looks on patiently, sword at the ready in a salute.

Initiative rolls if you intend on combat, unless you have any more posts to make. Elm is a total of 65ft away within the next "room" of sorts

Sypher takes a step in front of Shiaran and enters into a defensive stance meant to counter fast attackers.  His sword is gripped in both hands, hilt held at his waste with the blade angled.

Sypher is fighting with Total Defense.  He may not attack this round, but he gets a +4 AC as a Dodge bonus.]

Shiaran draws a piece of licorice from her pouch.  Her companions in mind she draws the rune for speed in the air and says "spendo!"

Beloc's shield hovers effortlessly in front of him as he releases into the air. He reaches back and unsheaths his silvery blade, scanning the area before him for the best angle of attack.

R.E.B.O.R.T. stands motionless, showing no emotion whatsoever as the group begins to maneuver around him. Probabilities and calculations spin through his mind while he determines his next move.

The vampire lord stands completely still at the ready, daring his first opponent to come forward.

R.E.B.O.R.T. steps up behind Sypher and places a hand upon his shoulder. "The one you call Lord will watch over you, protect you, and guard your mind against this evil influence."

With the other hand, the warforged rubs a heavy salve on to Sypher's armor. The substance looks almost like some sort of machine oil, but at the infusion takes hold, the color shifts into a soft white glow and then fades away.

R.E.B.O.R.T. used Rapid Infusion to place an Armor Enhancement infusion on Sypher. He chooses the +3 enhancement to make his armor Exalted.

Exalted:
The wearer of this pristine armor, if good, takes only half of the extra damage dealt by an unholy weapon (+1d6 instead of +2d6) and gains the benefits of a constant "protection from evil" spell. Furthermore, the armor negates the vile damage dealt by a vile melee, ranged, or natural weapon.

Sypher feels the warforged's hand on his shoulder and the infusion take hold.  He changes his mind about what to do in a blink.  He softly touches Shiaran's back and says a brief prayer.  "Iehovah, I ask your blessing of protection upon this faithful servant on whom I lay my hands."

Beloc plants his feet firmly in a defensive position, but rather than charge forward in an all-out charge, he instead begins to whisper words in the druidic tongue. "Bakmada di wer edar lleisgar vur obscure nomeno area de sia irlymi saurivic"

Tendrils of mist begin to swirl up from the ground and envelop the group, covering them completely from outward onlookers.

Beloc casts Obscuring Mist around the group.

Elm says nothing, and doesn't move. He isn't oblivious to the battle preparations, opting to "allow" them as he would put it. Though he is a dozen vile things, the vampire lord at the very least appears to prefer honorable combat. Or perhaps he simply wants a challenge...

Sypher advances steadily toward Elm.  His blade held in a defensive slant.  "Tell me.  Were you turned by choice or against your will?"

Hidden within the mist, Beloc begins casting.

Beloc is prepping Summon Natures Ally. They won’t appear until next round since casting time is 1round instead of std action.

Shiaran begins a spell as she follows the glow of Sypher's blade out of the mists.  "Skotádi eínai o hades móni tis." As she steps from their concealment, the spell ends.  Her palm is held forward toward Elm.  From its center, a bolt of white energy leaps toward the vampire.  It hits center mass, but doesn't do enough damage to mention.

Elm doesn't acknowledge Shiaran's attack, vanishing from sight and appearing in front of Sypher. The paladin's defensive stance pays off. Elm's sword clashes against Sypher's as he reappears, sending sparks flying. Elm gives a wicked smile, showing his fangs. "Turned? Boy, you know nothing. I am, and have been from my creation what you see before you. The culmination of humanity and immortality with all the flaws and weaknesses removed".

Sounds of movement rustle about from within the mist and R.E.B.O.R.T. steps out, guns blazing. Multiple shots ring out and bullets whiz by Sypher as they sail towards their target. Brilliant white rounds strike Elm all over doing enough damage to shoot the smirk right off his face [89 damage collectively].

That was all Sypher needed to hear.  The creature before him was wholly evil and worthy only of destruction.  With all limitations removed, Sypher goes into full attack.  His first attack is careful, precise as he deflects Elm's slash and returns one of his own.  The blade slashes a fiery trail through the air, but nothing penetrates the vampire's defenses.

Sypher's second swing goes wide and he barely draws the sword in to defend against the next swing coming his way.

Without completely dissipating it, a furious beating of wings begins to disturb the mist. Four unnaturally large eagles emerge from the obscuring vapors and climb to dive-bombing altitudes. Each, in turn, reaches their peak and immediately wing over into a dive. One after another strike at Elm with their talons and all but the last one is deflected away. The last eagle to strike lands a solid on Elm's back [18 DMG] before the convocation of eagles break in various directions for a second pass.


Beloc engages the 'Flock of Eagulls' maneuver. :)

Shiaran's eyes narrow as she watches her brother's ineffectiveness and Elm's power.  Thankfully, Rebort and Beloc were able to connect.  Impressively so.  While still distracted by the heavies in the group, Shiaran takes the opportunity to shore up her own defenses.  "Thorakisména apó tin apókryfes."

A shimmer of energy appears around her for a moment, then fades into invisibility.

After casting, Shiaran stays within the mist, but moves about to provide the least available target she can, knowing that Vampires have preternatural senses.  She hopes the four of them will be enough.  Her largest fear is that they have been transported to this foreign place.  A demiplane?  If they killed Elm, the plane might spit them out back where they entered.  That may or may not hurt.  It posed the most dangerous part of the vampire's plan so far, moreso because it was such powerful magic and therefore unknown to Shiaran.

She hated not knowing.
