Re: Ladies Party

Corra gives Erky a reassuring nod.  "No need to worry," she assures him, "I won't leave us to die of boredom here while they spend the next twenty minutes staring at and talking about that door."  Instead, she turns and strolls down to open the one she spotted to the south.

With a bit of a shove, Corra pushed the stone door open, revealing a 10-foot wide corridor.  The glow of the fungus pushed into the space, but eventually turned to gloom after about 30 feet.

Re: Ladies Party

Relba, used to such haste from children, merely sighed out loud, but otherwise moved to join the others to the south.  So much for searching systematically.  It seemed this little escapade was going to be concluded through brute strength alone.  Almost saying as much aloud, Relba instead chose to hold her tongue.  Corra may be impatient, but she was and had proved to be a key member of this group, so Relba would do her best to watch out for her from both near and far.

Zokkara lifts her eyebrows and also moves to join the others. "Best we stick together when opening doors", she offers.

Re: Ladies Party

As Admiria and Zokkara approached the doorway, their darkvision allowed them to see further down the tunnel and they could just barely see it opening up with rough-hewn after about 50 feet.

Re: Ladies Party

Corra chuckles, and almost replies to Zokkara with something about everyone's fascination with doors, but then she stops herself and instead nods.  "You're right," she agrees, seriously.  "I'm sorry.  I get a little restless, but I shouldn't be putting everyone in danger over that.  I'll try to be more careful," she promises.

Then, resting her axe over her shoulder, she starts walking down the hallway.  "At least a little."

Re: Ladies Party

Corra proceeded down the 10-foot-wide hallway.  The walls were expertly placed but long neglected and dripping with cracks.  The floor was covered in dust and the smell of burnt toast lingered in the air.

The glowing fungus did not continue down the hall, so only complete darkness loomed ahead to the Halfling's common eyes.

Currently no one has a torch lit.

OOC:  Admiria, Zokkara and Erky have darkvision, so for them the darkness is dim light and black & white out to 60 feet.  Passive Perception is at -5 and active Perception checks are at disadvantage in dim light.

Corra pauses.  "'S dark!" she calls back, helpfully.  "Anybody mind if I light a torch?  Or maybe someone has magic glowing hair or something they'd like to share?"

Re: Ladies Party

Relba squinted as she entered this passageway, knowing it would do no good, but abiding by natural instinct anyway.  She made no response to Corra's enquiry (why would anyone object to a shining, guiding light in darkness)? simply dug into her carry bag and pulled out her own hooded lantern.  A torch in front, a lantern towards the back?  That should give them enough light to at least progress without too much difficulty?  One hoped ... ?

"Aw," Corra says, pulling out a torch and striking it.  "You really seemed like the right type, Zokkara," she teases.  "I was sure you had magical glowing something.  Toes, at least.  All right, here we go!"  As her torch catches, she lifts it up to look ahead.  Then she pauses and lowers it back down, turning.

"I'm waving this right in your eyes, aren't I?  Does somebody else want to hold it?" she offers.

Re: Ladies Party

With torches and lanterns lit to brighten their way, Corra leads everyone about 40 feet down the corridor.  She comes to a small ledge that drops about two feet down into a natural cavern that stretches off as far as she can see to the east and west.  The man-made corridor seems to continue on the other side of the cavern, but it is ten feet away to the southwest.  A number of two-foot-diameter holes and other debris riddle the floor of the cavern. The smell of burnt earth hangs in the air.

Re: Ladies Party

Relba, while not accustomed to being at the back, was nonetheless happy enough to take up the duties.  After all, they had cleared the entrance way behind them, so any kind of confrontation would likely come from the front.  Looking at it that way, it was, perhaps, best she was where she currently was.
