My character was an engineer for Sensou Defense.

Yuki didn't work for Sensou Defense, however, she did temporarily work for the Hoshi Group before joining the Project.

I think Asher's application for a security position would have atleast gone through Sensou Defense's network.

All of the applications would have been processed by Sensou Defense. However, characters might have worked at one of the companies listed beforehand. ^^

Naomi, we might have met before the Project started, then. Ayo helped develop medical robotics while she was with Sensou.

Naomi I presume worked in the robotics and automation department as well actually. It would make sense if they worked on the same project at least once in the past. I know for a fact that people get bounced between commercial and governments systems a lot in that line of work.

Upon the other GM's recommendation, tomorrow I'll be switching the survival tag for anime. Think along the lines of maybe Saber Marionette J mixed with Monster, or maybe Code Geass? Either way, this change will only be temporary as we're still debating on the final genre selection as, honestly, the plot we have in mind fits in to more than three genres. Both anime and survival are pretty broad. Any advice is much appreciated.

The only anime I know anything about is Pokémon, because my kid watches it. I'll try to fake it.

I'm in the same boat, heh, saw a few growing up, but did not recognize any of the reference material.

Quick explanation for each one because they're all really good!

Saber Marionette J is a relatively old one (airing in the late 90s). In humans essentially land on and colonize an uninhabited world. However, only men end up on this world... So after hundreds of years of human cloning everyone is living on a planet entirely inhabited by men.

Monster is a good psychological horror manga, again, a pretty old one (One of my personal favorites). It's about a brain surgeon in post WWII Germany who saves the life of the wrong patient. It's REALLY exciting, and I'd recommend checking it out if it sounds interesting.

Code Geass is a newer one than the other two, but is more popular than the other two. It has a confusing plot that is explained better in the show, but the characters are memorable and believable. It's pretty popular because of that. Pretty soon, apparently, it will be getting a new season despite it having an amazing ending.

Recently, I haven't had time to watch anime. But, those would fit the mood and setting pretty well.

Don't worry, no one has to change anything. We'll probably drop the third genre all together in the end because we can't agree. Unless you guys decide together on the last genre. At which point I'll be happy to change it!

BTW, thank you to Esperanza for drawing up a lovely map of the Hope.

Hello everyone! New player here. In advance, I'm apologizing about my english, for it is not my natural language.

Seijuro is good at teaching people how to defend themselves and at whiping people into shape.

Saber Marionette is really cool. Monster is a work of art and Code Geass is also really cool. Maybe you could use Makoto Shinkai's Hoshi no Koe (the english title is 'Voices of a Distant Star') to imagine the game, as it share some themes (people joining expeditions to another planets).

Notes about the Perception checks you guys are making. There are two targets for them.

The first is the standard 6 or below. You will get extra information about your surroundings with this.

The second is a 3 or below. This is because there is a very specific detail you guys are looking for. Because Asher rolled hit this target, he received a LOT of extra information. It is up to him if he wants to share it, but anyone will be able to observe something similar if they roll low enough. In addition anyone who rolls this number or lower will get access to an item, though this is just for this Episode. If you choose to take it, feel free to narrate yourself picking it up, then add it to your "Typically carries" until you drop it.

Feel free to roll for perception again before posting. You may either roll a general perception check, or pick a specific target to observe. The dual targets are in place for specific objects as well.

In addition, just as a personal note, I got a part-time job and will be starting school again (Yay for Winter Break) next week on Thursday. It should be an easy semester, though. I just have a math course and an art course that I'm taking. I'm not sure exactly when the other GMs start, but this should actually make it easier for us to communicate and post because I won't be as hyperactive.

You can understand what the aliens are saying. Why will be revealed later. Language that the aliens are speaking that you won't understand will be scrambled using the Language feature. ;P

I agreed not to do any major GMing stuff without telling the other two (We have a group log of things we need to do on Google Hangouts). But, we also agreed that GMPCs can make posts. So, private lines from Yuki narrating setting stuff can be considered the same as a line from The Golden Planet. :P

Hey everyone! Just a quick heads up, we plan on putting up another post by Sunday (Probably today, but, again, it has to go through all the GMs first). Please roll for perception again, as we will be describing the storage area.

Also, we plan on sending private messages out to everyone with potential ideas for plots that concern your characters. I've already chatted a bit over the phone with Maia, and gotten the go ahead on something I swear I wouldn't do to a character without permission.

We want to include everyone on the brainstorming process, though we do have a basic plot in mind, so if you have any ideas involving what would make this more fun for you don't hesitate to PM us!

Anyways, Sattelite is awesome and started working on a Game Wiki for us! That way we can post mundane information without taking up threads in the game.

Also, a big thank you to Esperanza for letting Sattelite and I plot freely last night and giving us the unanimous support needed to start finalizing the plot outline. Or, at least to make a pretty cool villain even cooler.

FYI: I'm going to the March tomorrow, and even though it's in Denver which is pretty laid-back, I'm a middle aged white chick, and I'll be there with my mother, there is still a non-zero chance that I may be arrested. It's far more likely that I'll just be delayed getting home due to traffic on the busses and trains, but don't expect to see anything from me before Sunday at the earliest. If nothing else, I'm going to be tired and braindead.

Hey guys! So, in an attempt to get everyone to bond, I'm proposing that we play Cards Against Humanity online sometime this weekend. Would you mind maybe drawing us a quick map (probably just in powerpoint) to explain all of our current locations and where our mysterious alien saviors(?) are? At the moment it's a little hard to figure out where everyone is and figure out our best next steps.

The ship is, essentially, comprised of a few wings:

The Gyrosphere (Where all the pods are kept)
The Archives (The captains quarters and first mates quarters are behind it, both of which function as escape pods. The door the archives was locked until "Prince" and "Tenshin" got there. There is a small hall that Yuki passed through to get to the Gyrosphere running along the side of the archives.)
The Medical Bay (This is where Yuki and Ayodele are)
The Engine Room (Where the aliens entered from)
The Storage Dock

The black lines on the map and the large white ring are all hallways.

So... wait.. I'm trying to figure out where Asher and I are relative to the aliens. That last post has me sort of confused.

Is there only one door? Did they reach the door to the archives before us? Or is it possible that we got there first?

This is a rough area of the map you should be in. There are three doors leading into the main hall, captains quarters, and archives respectively. You just entered through the hall. One native is guarding the door, the other one has entered the archives after managing to open the door that wasn't functioning.

Red dots are humans. Blue dots are natives.

...Should we just rewrite the post?

So Victor and I just now stumble across the natives basically, I'll get a post up soon.

Mencha is a chain of noodle bars near us. IMO, the appetizers are the best thing. Love their Peeking Duck.

You can roll if you want. However, you aren't going to understand it completely. This language will take the character time to learn. Pinky promise, though, that Kaze wasn't insulting you. XP If he was going to insult you, he would have insulted you in a language you understand. Because that's the beauty of Kaze. He loves stirring up trouble, but is upfront about it.

Fun fact: Maia and Kazuhiko are based on the same person. Whom we both love/loathe at the same time. Ah. Siblings.

Other Fun Fact: There will be a character based off of Maia's player mixed with yet another sibling. I made this character before she applied.

Code_Name_Hero has one of the most interesting concepts I've ever seen. It blew me away that she was able to think of it. It is similar to Code: Lyoko in some ways, but completely different as well. Later today I'll be helping her revise her game ad. If anyone wants to help her as well, you all probably would be able to help her more than I can.

After a month of inactivity and several attempts to get in contact with them, we have removed both Seijuro and Jake from the game. They shall be missed.

With that in mind, along with the pods being taken, this seems like a good time to look for new friends and invite old ones. As such we'll be opening up applications on the game again later today. These new players will come in contact with you once the other people inside of the pods are recovered... So hopefully in the near future. :)

That sucks. But it'll be nice to meet new players.

Anybody interested in having any kind of relationship before we launched? Either overtly (let's discuss it here) or covertly (through PMs).

Feel free to peruse my background. The tl;dr version, Ody's in his mid '50s though he looks younger (and is quite sprier), works around as a handyman of sorts. He's got a very good ear for listening, and often takes a "daddy" approach with people regardless of age. If he's met you in any capacity, and especially if you've got your wits about you, he'll have taken a liking to you.

Think a guy that looks like TerraNova's commander Taylor with a ponytail* Chris Christopherson in Blade, but with the personality of Winona Ryder in Star Trek: TNG with a dash of flippancy.

Group 2 now has a thread in it! Anyone who wants access to it, I'll add you. But, this thread will be - up until a bit in the future - exclusively for new players and NPCs. XP Once we complete the episode everyone will move there.

If anyone has noticed that sometimes more than one character ends up talking in a post, that's because the gms sometimes collaborate on the narrative before it gets posted. We usually aren't talking to ourselves... XP
