Waiting there, next to the gatehouse is a slight figure wrapped in a long cloak that covers head to toe, with the hood pulled far forward against the morning mist. The head turns toward the couple as they ride up, not moving otherwise.
The city clock chimes the hour, and a guard opens the gate, ushering in the visitors. They are taken up to the same rooms the Patrician used the night before, the third person moving like one used to silences. On the table, instead of the set up for tea, breakfast is layed out. The leader of Illium is seated in a chair, sipping out of a china cup, which he waves around to offer seats to his guests.
"I hope you had a restful night," he says to Blayze and Gerin. Then he turns to the newcomer. "And thank you for coming on such short notice. I'm sorry to have interrupted your studies." The shrouded figure nods, gravely, but seems content to wait. "Have you been appraised of the situation?" Another deep nod.
The Patrician sips his drink again, using the moment to think. "I brought you all together here first so any questions or concerns might be brought up before sending you down to interrogate the prisoner." He takes another sip, giving a moment for questions.

He sips his tea again. "I asked Allania to join us, hoping that her expertise and capabilities might contribute to understanding the situation we find ourselves in."
Allania pulls back her hood, and a startling looking woman emerges. She has straight white hair, pink eyes, and the palest skin you have ever seen. Her features aren't quite human, but it takes a moment to realize that she might be of the elvish races.
Blayze smiles a hello at the woman, reaching for a pastry.

The Patrician has been kind enough to let me stay as long as needed, which thus far has been for several years. My goddess insisted that I study about darkness so that it may be contained, and, apparently has foreseen that I would be needed here at this time." She comes across as a sober individual.
She turns to Gerin. "I understand my interest in this affair, and why the Patrician would want to stop an incursion, as the Beastlands are close to his city. Why would Landsdale take an interest? They are not threatened, nor are likely to be within your lifetime."
